yes and very sore. Damaged sti and ripped up the bar tape, ripped jacket and bibs. Minced home for last 10 miles feeling very sorry for myself! Think I might start riding i the afternoons although Im very much a morning person when it comes to riding

This happened to me and it was replaced for free. I could be wrong but i think when they first came out they were designed to work with a triple or a double but the design wasn’t up to it. So they created individual units for each type. The replacement has been faultless for 10k but it will probably break tomorrow!

I had exactly the same problem on the same side after starting riding on the road. Tried a bike fit, cleat fiddling and two different sports physios. What fixed it for me was custom made footbeds

I was looking at these jackets also but am swaying towards the lightweight event jackets from montane (air) and rab ( momentum) because they are more versatile, pack down small and have a great reputation but I can’t find anyone selling them.

My mother has a nice place. Web site is ‘the cottage guide’ and house name is 2 farm cottages whitwell. I lived there for a year and local biking in brighstone forest is good

I had this problem and couldn’t fit wider tyres than 23mm. Tried carbon seat post with a shim, hope wheels and lower tyre pressures but eventually bought equilibrium frame – what a difference, especially on longer rides

Thanks for the info, that looks good but I should have said the more humble (cheaper!) windstopper active shell

Gorgeous – how about a test report as there is very little info out there? How heavy, what’s it like on the road, what are the disks like, etc. I’m trying to talk myself into getting for 24m round trip commuting on back roads. Thanks

I had this problem. Iwas told that shimano had designed the shifter to work with both compact and triple chain sets but it failed on compact chain sets. Mine failed and was replaced under warranty by my lbs and it was 2009. Hope that helps

Had a bike rack on our Ford Ka for the last 8 years – never take it off
Normally only carry 1 bike but occaisionally 2

Hollywood rack held on with straps – number plate not covered. Hope that helps

Bit of a hijack but why get 3/4 length over full length?

Had same problem recently and the following worked for me – change down to smallest sproket on front, pull outer out of guides and slide outer down the cable, clean cable and re-lub then put ebverything back

I switched from a MTB with slicks to road bike with 700c 23mm tyres and really like the change. Faster and much less effort. Recently fitted crud race guards which work well. Commute is 12 miles each way country lanes in crappy condition but my wheels seem fine so far. Got talked out of CX bikes by this forum as none of my ride is off road

I’ve got a vaude rucksac with a frame that keeps the actual rucksac off your back and allows air to circulate. It’s suppposed to be designed for bikes and comes in 25L and 30l. It’s got compression straps to keep it all tight, a waterproof cover and a hydration pocket. Good kit

I was in the same dilema a few months ago and not knowing much about the dark side. Spent lots of time driving to shops too far away, tried Specialized, Trek, Boardman and Bianchi – I found them all fairly similiar to ride so ended up buying an Orbea Gavia from my LBS. He’s 5 miles away, service is good and bike is like the others I tried! I’m happy and doing 12 miles each way to work 3 times a week

I know it doesn’t help but mine creaks with an ea70 post. I’m resigned to living with the creaking because I like the comfort
