Passed this on the way round a route borrowed from the Boggies. More here

Not too hot, favourable breeze and drought conditions. A wonderful, non-technical big solo :)))

Tell me when this OS or similar is available on a maybe larger, slightly lighter and cheaper iPad and I'll be very interested…

    …or clone if one exists?

Am not an Apple geek but do appreciate the UI!! But not the cost!!!

    Always open 24/7…

…except when closed by bad weather e.g. last winter.

    Been at 8 a.m.

Another Berwyn Bash, 33 miles and 5000ft. Gorgeous countryside.

A few more on that Flickr set[/url]

Am impressed with the images that can be produced from these very compact cameras. Canon ixus series in my case.

Hope to get out more whilst the dryness persists!! :))

Lee Quarry is here. The Buck Inn is below Cragg Quarry.

I did the 'full' south – north route as suggested by elliptic last year. Excellent day out! :)))

I started at Troutbeck to save my energy for the Ullswater lakeside rockfest and finish on the non-technical grind over Kirkstone when tired.

but they look pretty big and bulky

…but the 661 Slim Knee a.k.a. Kyle Straits don't feel big and bulky.

On my second pair and regularly do 25 – 30 mile rides.

Also protect well as I Supermanned after my front wheel decided to Pringle 🙂

I'd edit it a bit tighter

    Hi Chris

One of the reasons it caught my attention was that is edited in a chilled fashion. Contrasts with many vids you see.

I also want to be able to ride Lee Q like that one day!

    Cheers
    Paul

P.S. Your vids are brilliant, of course … 🙂

    Hi

I took the route eastwards over Bwlch Maen Gwynedd to Llandrillo as I thought it would be dry after this long dry spell we've been having. It was!

Have done a ride taking in 'the bog' previously, it must never dry out!

    Cheers Paul

Get over to Cragg Quarry then, very different, much more flow.

Aye, Cragg Quarry is brilliant and has lots of flow…

…you have to pedal though! ;))

Hi Rorschah or ANO Berwyn MTBer who may be able to answer this..!

Looking at various options of riding to and from the Llangollen Valley.

Do you know how these bridleways are as descents??

    Hi All

A great area indeed! Started at Llandrillo and went eastwards over the Wayfarer. The return leg via Bwlch Maen Gwynedd was a bit of a slog!!

Hope to meet ANO MTBer next time!

Yes! Thanks to whoever put the initial 'heads up' on here. At least 4 in the Dean Row store yesterday morning.

Part of my son's 21st stuff, as he's wanted one since he was about 13 ;))

    Looks reasonably sound.

Few months ago took an old work colleague (roadie) for a 3 hour workout around Llandegla. Took him days to recover…

…now he gets his revenge as a follow him up the Cat & Fiddle climb and other roadie treats in the Peak.

Only have my Stumpy (suspension will lock out) and have put skinny road tyres on it. It (I) will look ridiculous!!!!!

FYI, am planning on riding out from Roman Lakes, Marple about 08:30 – 09:00ish Saturday morning to link up with the Boggies Hayfield Orbital route. About 25 miles, 4 hours (less or more…).

    🙂

if your going from the edenfield side you could also use fecit brow as an up , or [ better still ] down to vary it up at tad

Thanks for the heads up on this when we met at the inaugural ride. Rode up last night from Shuttleworth, past the Fisherman's Retreat and up Fecit 'Brew'. Very nice ascent followed by a cracking bit of track down past Waugh's Well. Four laps of Cragg and then down along Sand Beds Lane (path) to Edenfield.

Perfect weather, clearing to a crisp blue, blue sky. On top of the world and almost on my doorstep :))))

Thanks to the organisers! Was great to meet a few STWers on the hill.

It is a cracking venue to get a workout and some flow. Mainly the former in my case!

    Hope to meet up again…

is there a viable route from lee quarry?

Might be more viable going across/down from Cragg to Lee and back to car along the road…

…I did try this last week and quickly ended up axle deep on what looked a good dry bit so rode down Rooley Moor Road and back instead 😉
