    @Gee-Jay

Not sure what star/planet caused the white streak. Shutter was open about 7 mins if anybody has any good ideas

That is not the ISS. In a 7 min exposure the space station will have travelled across most of the sky.

Looks very much like Jupiter 🙂

    Had 2 X-Trails.

    Roomy. 3 bikes no problem.

    Reliable (a Nissan)!

    Get a diesel!!

    No worries 🙂

P.S. CHL ha, ha. Yes I’m ‘old’. But only in years.

Much kudos to the MTL Challengers!!!!

Seeing the weather forecast I failed to M(W)TFU and did 60km (2 full loops) around Penmachno on Saturday. Am still a wimp!!

    And it rains…

If driving from Coedpoeth direction go past the normal left turn off the 'main' road for another 50m. Turn left there and park up.

Is there an option to loop around and do the fun stuff twice?

Yes. Have a good look at their map. Take a fire road back up to loop the first black and red wooded single track sections. Take Offa's Dyke to loop back to near the top of the main climb to repeat more of the exposed sections.

Been down it quite a few times 😉 . Quite wide, good to work up to bigger and bigger airs.

Rocky bit needed to be harder to make it worthwhile IMO…

…but great to have more to go at. The new blue section is good as well.

    Cheers

    Hi Jon

    Am hoping to do this!

Do you know if it is to be ridden (anti) clockwise?

    Thanks

One of the best!! Ace weather for you 🙂

Has anyone experience of extending this north across Great Asby Scar and Crosby Garrett Fell?

Looking to make it up to a 35 miler…

    Cheers

Was there 3 weeks ago with the GF and her young teenagers.

Got free hire from Cyclewise via this

    http://www.golakes.co.uk/cyclechallenge/default.aspx

Saved £35! Look for some old papers.

The Blue is very good (for a Blue)!!

Anyone know which way round the ride is this year, clock or anti-clockwise?

I've arranged a Sunday pass with the SO.

Will be along if the weather is half decent. First time and hope to find people riding at a similar pace to help keep spirits up and share gate opening duties.

    Cheers

    Great news.

Came across a group of 4 MXers at Cragg last Saturday. Quite sedate and courteous. Only distinguishing characteristics were one was so big (nowadays I believe 'fat' is the recommended term) I wondered how he balanced.

They still ripped up some track though.

I tried to sneek a photo but just got my handlebars 🙁

Do the MBR!!! Techy and not long.

Also do the very first section of Tarw (down Black Steps) to start and spin back past the VC to start MBR. Could also add on the Dreamtime section of DB (striaght across road after Pinderosa) then double back to join bottom of the aformentioned road to climb up and continue MBR.

    🙂

    Classic loop

Do the above clockwise starting from Ravenstonedale.

A66/M6 option. The start must be 1k off your route.

If you are after something a bit different then Lee and Cragg are well worth it :))

Doing all of the Lee Quarry purpose built stuff, the Red, the Black and practise downhills a couple of times each then wiring the trail at Cragg (at least a couple of laps) will be an intense workout.

Gisburn is great and out in the wilds, but similar to other trail centres.

    YMMV.

    Cheers, Paul

Was staying just west of Newport (Aber Fforest) last weekend.

A trip over the Carningli bridleways, down into Cwm Gwaun, a loop of the Preseli's and back via Cwm Gwaun and Newport was excellent!

Some great rocky climbs and descents plus a great blow along the ridge.

Recommended if you're in the area :))

I did push up it (via the path) recently as part of an anit-clockwise Hayfield Mega-Orbital. It was over quickly and sets you up for the descent to Kinder res. and crossing of Middle Moor :))))))))

How about Nant y Arian. Summit Trail (with or without extension over the moors). Well worth calling in on the way.

Dilli's in Altrincham is more than good!

If you're looking for something that isn't shoddy and has nice clientele it would be the place to go for a 40th.

    Short cut after forest cafe…

…there is a R turn onto fireroad after Dolfrwynog. Don't take this. Continue up road (steep) until the next but one fire road on the right that takes you to the top of Gomez.

Better to do all of The Beast and also take this short cut…
    …enjoy.

CyB, The Beast taking the road short cut after the forest cafe.

Maximises the fun and minimises the fire road.

garmin dakota 20….superb piece of kit got me out of trouble a few times! cannot fault it in the slightest! think i payed around 350 for mount, unit and park uk 1.50k os maps

i believe there is whole uk card now for about 100 which seems pretty good!

I splashed out on the Dakota 20 with the UK map package a few weeks back.

Very easy to use and great map definition. Keep it in the shorts pocket.

    Idiot proof?? ;))

Take a spare set of AAs though…
