i work in the construction industry and for the first time in ages the price indices are negative (-5% to -7%)…

i understand why costs may go up in recession but not 28.5%!

fyi – it was an in stock item that went up £110 overnight

like i said – i went elsewhere to spend my cash, their loss – not mine

this is mine, an 2007 with pikes on – quickly dumped the fox32’s that came with it, unbelievable amount of flex….

weighs in at 30lbs – would consider sticking on a fox 36 talas if i had the spare cash, 160mm for the giggles, 130mm for the majority of riding, 100mm for the near impossible short techy climbs

if weight is a concern, the new fox 32 talas 150mm fork maybe the answer?

aye! they put up the price of the fork i was looking at getting on saturday, a 28.5% price rise – for **** sake!!

well they did themselves out of a sale; bought it from the woolly hat shop instead, for the original amount ;)

take your well earned cash and spend it elsewhere!

love my RR’s (using both the 2.4 and 2.25’s)

quite impressed with the crossmark 2.1 as well; its narrower than the RR but has a thicker sidewall

not a fan of maxxis ignitor

PMSL at projects comment about hoole and terraces…. cheers fella! i live in hoole and guess what? i own a terrace house – I shit you not!

chester’s cool, and for a small city offers a lot more than most towns twice its size, yes the nice areas are expensive, but what do you expect?

its flat as **** round here and for offroading there is very little local, but its surrounded by north wales, the clywds, the wirral, delamere, the peak district, the pennines, the lakes and to the south places like church stretton – but you’ll need a car or a mate who’ll take you along

quite a large roadie thing on the wirral and plenty of clubs if you swing that way as well

running bontrager tubeless ready tyres (acx and mud x 29er varieties) on flow rims, no issues what so ever – never had a tubeless tyre fit so easy and quickly :)

also running the 2.1 UST medusa’s on a cotic simple and think they are the best mud specific tyres around (tried mud x, medusa and trailraker)

notfiy the police, but don’t expect them to recover the stolen goods from the e-bay selling….

e-bay and chester police force were **** useless when i reported my stolen bike – i’d get all your photo, receipt and serial number information, win the auction, organise a home pick up and take the police with you

i’d go for the reba 120mm TA – i’m not convinced about my minute, its either very divey or platform rock hard – i prefer the feel of the reba or f29 over manitou’s absolute damper, shame the f29 isn’t thro-axle yet

only thing to look for the getting the right non-turn washers with the fitting kit, different ones (represented in different colours) are available for vertical and horizontal dropouts and they are specific to the left and right dropouts

my kit only came with the blue and green ones for vertical dropouts) and i had to order the brown and yellow ones for my ti29er

finished mine on new years eve but only done 80km on it so far, but set up was easy, running 32/20 on a ti29er, the bike is light and only notice the weight when handling the rear wheel alone

pros – quite cheap really, smooth changing, no rear mech to destroy at MM/SITS

cons noticed so far include – shifter doesn’t sit in my preferred location (too far inboard), feels a bit dragging in the low gears, cable still stretching resulting in gear changing from 2 to 1 a bit effy
