sorry but malt loaf is not a cake! FACT! (sorry thats me doing a TJ, must resist) but it did remind me of a couple of riding buddies having a competition to see who could stuff the most malt loaf in their mouths at once on a ride

one of them nearly choked to death…

out of stock until next month – which from experience with CRC/Rockshox last year could be anytime 2012

amazing price though, only downside is the price of their coil springs

would of considered a new sultan if the geometry had not changed, the turners are shorter than they were a couple of years ago – are the yanks shrinking?

methinks its about right (the duty level that is)

but gotta laugh at the smug who think just because they don’t run a car they are not effected – rising duty impacts on all, everthing we regularly consume is transported by car, van, lorry, plane, ferry and train

    you want something, you contribute

or we try out this lifestyle

but as they say, necessity is the mother of invention

Sound odd, wonder if you have an 18.5 one?

When you say VTT, do you mean effective top tube or actual i.e along the horizontal? A 19.5 should have an eff. TT of at least 24″ as you say

6’1″-6’2″ here, but have only used a trek liquid 19.5″

a 26er rigid rigid may seem too short, but don’t forgot the extra height from the 29er wheel

at the end of the day it’ll come down to trial and error depending on the type of terrain you’ll be riding

always ran a thomson on my soul and i have a glassback and have had no problems whatsoever

the soul is very springy compliant frame and i can’t really understand the need for a ti seatpost on a soul unless your back is a complete mess (imo)

Really like that diamondback ht on page 1 (gasp!), but a 66 degree head angle on a 29er? Guess its only of going down hill then!

    Let the insults continue!

how much would you pay to keep cycling?

Certainly not 5k! But then again I’m from yorkshire….

It has it’s ups and downs though, Bad weather and constant bike maintence pisses me right off! Especially having to constantly replace chains and cassettes every three months which cost stupid money now.

I’ve been off the bike for the last seven months, and miss it terribly and finally had a downer about it a couple of weeks ago, when I saw a consultant and had an X-ray and it was fine (almost wanted him to turn round and tell me I had a bone spur or fracture or something much worse)

pisses me off that my tendon won’t stop aching (even after a six month break off the bike), i’ve stopped going to the Physio recently cause just don’t see the point at the moment

Actually went out on the road rat yesterday on the Dee Loop and really struggled to ride 23km of flat cycle path, three quarters in and I was done for

Got an MRI booked next week, so will have to see what that shows

Been filling my time with new house projects instead! There is always something else to spend your hard earned cash on!

Not planning on doing it myself, and will be replacing the skirting at the same anyway, the concretes been down over ten years and been covered with the cheapest laminate – time for a change

Only thing unsure about is whether the matt lacquer can have new lacquer rolled straight on top or whether it has to be sanded first

Steer clear of pre-lacquered – marks too easily.

mmmm was going to use this B&Q’s Colours Simplift Oak flooring in the hall and lounge (17 sq.m), floating system as my floors have had dpm, concrete and then screed laid

Why are all the Mondeo owners getting better economy than I am? (No don’t answer that, I do know but am none-the-less shocked)
TDCI 130, typically 43mpg averaged over 10 mile motorway/A road commutes and a couple of longer (motorway) biking trips each week.

mines shite as well (read as – lead right foot)

currently getting 43 mpg out of a 11 month old mondeo (163 bhp)

    Take a look here

    http://sheldonbrown.com/harris/shimano-nexus.html

I used brown and yellow for horizontal dropouts (Ti 29er) but the cable will run the sameway anyway i.e. the cable runs down the downtube, under the bb, then along the underside of the drive side chain stay to the hub

also had a BG quote last month (to check a worst case figure)

£2400 for a new combi boiler (Potterton HE28) and upgrade the 15mm copper to 22mm (because of regulations.. la la la nonsense), if i wanted something flash then we were talking £3k+

i reckon a regular plumber figure would be £1500-£2000 for a Potterton

have a look on mybuilder for recommended gas safe plumbers in your area

cheaper to buy a new lwb t5 van (£25k-ish?) and get a quality conversion company to kit it out to your personal hi-spec (£15k-ish) rather than £47k+ for a new california
