You sure you weren’t just the best that week? The week after the Swedish netball team?

Was definitely after the Swedish Netball team, which we missed the week before..

Cheers mate you do have a very valid point. Is there a reason a lot of these bike are converted to single speed?

It was the niche thing to do back in the day….

Interesting to hear about Merlin as my Jones was made by them.

Schwinn used to have a mountain bike range but haven’t seen any new ones for ages. I used to own a Schwinn Moab, and I saw one about the same age a few weeks ago in Moab, clearly being kept alive only for its name.

The Schwinn 4 Banger was well respected back in the day. My brother had one when we lived in the US as kids. I had a Schwinn road bike – these were the days before they became Walmart specials (Chicago made)

Chumba…I had a lovely hardtail from them guys. still big in the US of A

It’s not the Chumba of old. Those two guys just bought the name.

Alan Kang destroyed Chumba. His rich Daddy bought him the company to play with… it didn’t end well. Think he must have been taught by Tony Ellsworth….

From that pic it looks like there is a ding right on the rim edge. Perhaps you ran pressure too low?

If I’m going to watch televised nature I’d much rather watch the honesty of Packham than the fakery and anthropomorphism of Attenborough

    Or Kate Humble..

Anyone remember Justa? New bike every other week and would avoid getting them dirty/chipped etc because of resale value…… Tyre tread cleaned with a toothbrush after every ride.

Would rave about a bike he owned then sell it as soon as a bike mag didn’t give it top scores.

Made some of the current serial bike swappers look like amateurs.

Never seen anything like it. Think a bit of sand is being mixed around up there. My car has a thick layer.

    2003 vintage me.

Ah yes, the Cannock Chase permit, so many asking about it. LukeB’s many threads. Wasn’t it slackalice who was the 661 pyjama boy? So many others

Ahhhhh bricks and planks for ramps, isn’t it, wasn’t it , marveeellous

You still want your stem cap hounsy?….

15yrs vintage here……. Luke’s slightly used energy bar was one of the best…. The ‘other’ forum that produced so many cool rides and meets.

To cover most things in a shortish time I’d go for a hybrid. Blue Mountain, Westchester area has proper mtb trails but it’s much further north. The route I’m thinking of it mostly disused railway lines/gravel track etc.

This time of year is my fav in NYC (also early spring)

I shall be there around Christmas when its freezing…..
