I use Skins and really rate them. The padding is really good too and I’d say the padding is better than some more bike specific brands I’ve used. Quality is top notch but at these prices you’d expect that – although I get them for free 😮

    Can’t comment on the 2XU

I’m a New Zealander living in the UK and I love it here. Access across farm land always amazes me. If you walk across private land in NZ you are likely to be confronted by an angry farmer with a gun!

    I second that!!

I’m an Aussie living in the UK and I think you guys are incredibly lucky with your extensive and quality bridleway network.
Despite the size of Aus, there is very little riding in comparison, and most beautiful mountains are either on private land or in national park with forbidden access to mtb’s.
I think its wrong that you can own a mountain and forbid access to people but that is the case back home, whereas I bet every single mountain in Britain has a ROW going to it.
British mountain bikers live in mtb paradise and should appreciate it for what it is.

    +1

NZ is the one country that really made me appreciate the UK for what we have.

I listened to Ted talking about some of the detail of the bike behind in that picture. Some of it was genius. Top bloke and a true engineer.

    Hi Ray,

What Al said (I was with Al on the 2008 trip). You saved my holiday there in 2008. Hope you’re well fella.

Would be great to ride (you guiding!) again with you.

Get the district to Richmond. Take some sunset shot over the river from the top of Richmond Hill.

Primrose Hill for some awesome skyline shots.

Get some extra brake levers for the bars….see the link.

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=27933

Simply brilliant on any road/cross/drop-bar bike.

Get them before you build it…the cables need threading and extra pieces of outers with sealed ferrules too.
Not to mention the bar tape.

    PaulD

    why?

Most people I know have removed them.

Glad he was found. They do usually turn up, looking sheepish and knackered (with a twinkle in the eye after an adventure).

I got the Dirty Disco Rival deal. Love the ride and super quick and stiff. I’m 5’11 32″ inseam and 56 fits me great. The higher cockpit makes it less ‘touching your toes’ position for me – especially in the drops.

    Finish is impressive.

Probably only done a couple of hundred miles on them so far, but impressed all the same. Reasonable weight and plenty stiff. Hubs seems smooth and the rear does make a nice buzzing noise.

I think they are pretty solid for the money and seem well built.

My 2005 6 pack has blown me away. I ride it way more than my DW Spot.

It will be off to the Alps. DW Spot will probably be sold.

Yes that is correct. Flat bit toward the bearing, rounded bit toward the frame.

What Dibbs said. If the rear spacing is 135mm then you have lots to choose from.

    I have these. http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/WPOOMAX/on_one_max_adaptable_maxle_wheelset_
