I bet that Victor is going to take a fair amount of sanding and filler.

I have one, although it’s not a gravel bike to me – it’s an ATB…

Boost wheelset?  You can easily change the adapters on Mavic wheelsets, so a bit confused about the shop saying they can rebuild the rim onto another hub.  So if they had more in stock how was that going to help your issue?

Sounds like they either have no idea about what they are talking about or just trying to make more money out of you.

They just need to supply you with a wheelset that is compatible with your frame….

I seem to remember a thread like this recently.  Went the predictable STW way, as I’m sure this one will……

Maybe he’s going to Ellsworth to join Lopes :)

Although it would appear that Lopes has left.  Back to Ibis?

Well they both seem to be just classified users.   So my GAF-o-meter is off the scale.

I would just ride it and not mess with it.  You could mark each end of the crack with a sharpie and just check it every-now and then.

Funnily enough in the article above the Cannondale Linseed oil trick worked on my Cannondale Rush swingarm.  I had the dreaded swingarm ‘click’.

Has it’s charms though, but I date back to pre-gingerfication when the majority of my route would involve soft, some loam and a few roots. In fact if I go there these days… it still does

I have one on my CX bike (1 x), came with a bike I stripped the gear off.  No idea if it works and can feel no difference.  Hope that helps :)

When it wears out I’ll just get a normal one or whatever is cheaper.

I actually really liked “old” Swinley, before all the surfaced waymarked trails got put in as you could pretty much make up your own loop, and it wasn’t all that busy. The original Whole Nine Yards trail was great..

    Yup  :(

I do the odd ride over there during the week (ride from Bagshot when working there).  I take my CX bike as it makes it a bit more interesting.

I wouldn’t go anywhere near the place at the weekends.

A bike work stand is a bike work stand.  Although marketing dept’s would love to sell you a specific ‘lightweight carbon cx’ work stand ;)   Along with a 650b one, a 29er one, an MTB one, a road one ;)

As others said just use common sense and don’t clamp it on any tubes except the seat post.

What you currently have will be perfectly fine.

Trails really aren’t much different to the UK, just last a lot longer..

@mike, indeed.  Was just wondering what explosions it might cause amongst some, seeing as they have so many issues with disc brakes.

I’ve had none of these issues in 19yrs of hydro disc use – then again I’m not mechanically incompetent.

How about dropper posts on a road bike?  Will that blow foo-foo valves?

I travel a hell of a lot with work and luckily get to take my bike most times.  I generally take my gravel bike these days as that gives me more options for riding, so I take a Scicon box (bike is currently packed in it for a recce trip to Japan).  I just leave my bike built up in my hotel room and have had no issues.  Although we do tend to take over entire floors or entire hotels – so maybe that helps…

But I’ve also used an Evoc for many years, so as above can thoroughly recommend one.  I used to always take rotors off because I’ve seen too many pringled rotors from robust baggage handling and luggage hold stacking.  It only takes a few minutes to take them off and put them back on again (centre-lock even quicker).

I love getting to a completely new place and going for a blast and explore – especially when its winter here and warm and sunny at my destination.  And as you say get to meet some great people.
