Very few issues reported on MTBR, the few that have popped up have been sorted by the vendor.

All my China direct stuff is still going strong. Better quality than some of the expensive branded stuff I’ve had.

18 months on mine, no issues whatsoever. Build was easy, and Carbonal (who I dealt with), were very good.

I always check peoples posting history on here if they are selling.

If it’s someone who just uses this place to sell I avoid them.

I looked at AliBaba a while ago when looking for something online.

It looks like it’s geared up so small dealers but small amounts and sell on locally as opposed to individuals buying single items. Have I just put my finger on a common eBay model by any chance? Say, but 5 and sell four, keep one?

How else would you buy such a frame? Find someone selling their surpluses on eBay? Or are there Web outlets got individual frames? Silly question, haven’t really looked, just asking as interested…

Try talking to them and see what they say….

    Most will sell individual items.

After 3 months, you may have fluid left in the tyres, but the chances of it having much latex suspended in the liquid are slim. It’s the suspended particles that give you puncture protection.

Change it after a few months. Also in the summer ‘if’ its hot that has an impact too. You can top it up.

I’ve been commuting by bike pretty much forever, I do drive but rarely use the car as I find it frustrating and unnecessary, normally I enjoy my ride to work in the morning, it’s short (<3 miles) and the roads aren’t particularly bad, I often take the long route (10 – 20 miles) home just because I enjoy it but recently the ride *in* to work has been stressing me out, I’ve not altered my route, I’ve not altered my riding but I seem to be getting a lot more aggro from drivers over the last few weeks and it’s really beginning to get on my nerves.

There has always been a large number of idiot drivers on the road – it’s just these days there are an equal number of idiot cyclist on the road.

You were probably riding like most of us way before cycling became a lot more popular (Olympics, recession etc).

It’s good that lots of people are riding, but conflict will massively increase due to genetic morons that either drive or cycle.

All my life I’ve seen some pretty shocking driving on the way to work and these days it’s matched with equally shocking dicks on bikes.

If you’re riding on the road I’d recommend hi-viz. NZ driving can be shocking.

No UV protection whatsoever. All day in the saddle under a strong OZ sun. Ouch.

I think the intolerance shown on both sides is pretty nasty. That’s why there is confrontation.

lol, …I don’t think he’s long for the earth.

Wishing someone dead because they don’t agree with you? Take a long look at yourself

Oh deary me… Please point out where I was wishing him dead? I was making an observation, an opinion, just like you.

Take a good look at yourself.

If someone else’s opinion or experience differs from yours and you get upset about it – I’d advise stepping away from the internet.

I have plenty of knowledge and experience of NZ thanks. Half my family are kiwi’s. I stand by my opinion.

As for a melting pot of culture, Deary me. It’s one of the most racist places on the planet. Even on the radio and tv, you just sit there mouth wide open, just wondering if you actually just heard and saw what came out.

NZ is a great country, just avoid Auckland.

I’m always surprised that people don’t find more to like about Auckland, there’s a huge amount going on around there.

    Like what?

From a distance Auckland looks amazing, the skyline, the bay, beaches etc.. but look under the surface and it’s a pretty cold place, no soul, character. Segregated, Maori to the south, Pakeha to the west, Korean/Asian’s central and east – all hating each other.

Even night life is pretty much dead as there just no public transport network. NZ is petrol head central. You awake to the noise of dump valves hissing.

There is a reason why there is a constant drain of young kiwi’s to either Oz or the UK (passport permitting). Usually their numbers get replaced with older Brits.

The South Island is the real NZ.

And don’t give me that bull crap about surfing in the morning then skiing in the afternoon – total bollox.

Land issue is a big problem too, there are bike parks but NZ being so young just does not have the natural trail networks.

Girl in our dept is from the North Shore, I always tease her and say when you heading back – she just shudders.
