The Trek Stache Carbon is looking good, probably a whole lot cheaper as a whole bike too…

My Stache 5 is possibly one of the most fun bikes I’ve ever ridden. Such a giggle. Was never a Trek fan but have been impressed with the engineering and detail that has gone into the frame.

Maybe I’ll get the carbon frame in a year or so time and transfer the bits over.

Pretty sure I mostly lusted after a Trek Y bike, it had everything I wanted, suspension for the bumpy downhill stuff, but not too bouncy for the uphill stuff, carbon fibre (optimally compacted low number of voids).

Seeing as it didn’t go downhill as you were standing on the rear swingarm – so was basically locked out. And was a pogo stick when sat down pedaling. Classic URT rubbish.

I had one of these. Actually is wasn’t that bad.

Have to say my Rotor one has been faultless, even through last winters gloop.

My regular ride group gave up on filming about three years ago. We do still shot work though, on nice tech stuff, or for lovely landscapes.
