    @Harry_the_Spider

It’s by Otto, not cheap but large scale and very heavy! All metal.

I got one of the last 5’s in 19.5. That was back in August.

It’s the best colour by far :)

I swap between using the rigid fork and a Lefty. Put some XT brakes on and went tubeless. One of the most fun bikes I’ve ever ridden. Slam that rear wheel!

Use masking tape at the cut to prevent splintering.

Didn’t they change the pistons on the revised version? I believe if they are white pistons they are the newer ones.

I know Sarlat pretty well and spent many summers there. I struggled to find much riding especially MTB. It was mainly road riding and most shops only had road maps.

Maybe it’s changed but if I was to take a bike again I’d take my CX. I’m sure there must be some local MTB clubs now that could give some pointers.

Oh and enjoy the river :) Many a happy down lazily floating down it.

What lunge said. Head south as far away from Auckland as possible.

Taupo is also worth a little visit with a fair number of trail networks there (I helped build the first couple). Nothing technical just swooping singletrack. Ease your muscles in a nice thermal pool after.

But yeah Christchurch is a nice town with plenty of quality riding in the surrounding hills.

EVs require lots of rare metals like lithium for their batteries, these are one of those things that you can’t really be sure of their environmental impact because they’re mined in China

I didn’t think China was the biggest producer of litium. A quick google says:

The three largest lithium producers are the Chile-based Sociedad Quimica y Minera (SQM), American FMC Lithium (FMC), which controls the ominously-named Hombre Muerte mine in Argentina, and Albermarle (ALB), which recently acquired competitor Rockwood.

@CHB, we have i3’s at work- they are unbelievable!

They go like a stabbed rat.

Sadly due to sponsorship we have to give them up and go Mitsubishi…..

A few times riding, usually some very exposed Alpine stuff.

Fall left ok, fall right = freefall

They should be. All the Lefty axles are the same. The only thing different on the newer Lefty Max is the brake adapter.

I’ve never heard of a Lefty Max only wheelset….

Good summer for me. Got plenty of riding in and managed to take the bike away with me a fair amount.

Successful Oz tour then Rio trip… 8)

Actually September and October are my favourite months to ride, especially CX. Love the light, smells, colours and quiet autumn trails. Luckily I’m not a 9-5 worker so can still make the most of the days/evenings.
