Well IdleJon (firstly I bow to you, you’re the best). So you know the guy I’m talking about? His GT was bought cheap when GT went into administration. My point (which you failed to grasp as you were hanging onto the old GT stories and obviously being cool and old skool), was that the alu mast gave in before the carbon – he’s a very fast, hard riding experienced guy.

You were doing well in some of your well informed posts until you banged out the same mundane old dross like ‘pose factor’ and ‘magical properties’ and rubbished them. People who say those kind of things are usually the worst kind of bike snobs.

Well put clubber. Always makes me chuckle when you get the experts on here banging on about CF not being the right material for mountain biking, usually with no personal experience. I only know two people with carbon frames. One has been thrashed all around the UK and three Alpine trips – heavy rider too. The other has an old GT carbon LTS from about 1999/2000 – that has been thrashed too and the thing that broke on it was the Alu seatmast, which was fixed.

No doubt an internet/google expert will be along in a minute to correct me.

I’ve got one, works fine and I’ve built many bikes with it.

I used to ride in NZ a lot and sometimes never saw a soul, even at bikeparks.

I think balance bikes are brilliant for little kids, means they can skip the useless stabalizer stage.

I saw a great balance bike yesterday with a kid zooming along. It had a swingarm with an elastomer shock.

Fly BA, all in all it’s cheaper. Flew Sleazy jet for years with the bike and got pi**ed off with being ripped off with different excuses every time. My BA flight to Geneva in June works out about £30 cheaper with sports equipment included (even with BA’s new weight policy). Sleazy jet rely on extra charges.

People get sucked into the fly for a quid crap (although great marketing), we all know what it ends up costing.

I just use teflon dry lube.

I’ve used them in the Alps a couple of times. Pretty reliable and predictable on the handling front. I have the Snakeskin 2.35 UST’s. They are pretty large for 2.35. Nice tyre but no lightweight.

Take them to the cleaners and get another job. They obviously wanted you out regardless so I’m guessing it’s not a pleasant place to work. Still don’t understand why an HR manager would say the things they said. Sounds all a bit dodgy to me. What they said goes against all HR policies and principles.
