Chunky – where were you biking with that view of the Matterhorn, and what was it like? I'm guessing switzerland somewhere. Great pic btw

    Posted 10 minutes ago # Report-Post

Yep, Zermatt in Switzerland. That pic was taken below Gornergrat, probably about 9000ft. What was it like? Pretty amazing riding as in most Alpine places. Fantastic technical singletrack. Zermatt village is a nice place to be based also. We went with OTP who were great and the guides were superb. You can have a stab at the Swiss DH world cup course as well which is mental but a right giggle.

I meant if it costs less than £4K a Vito will be waiting to die. I'v driven a few now and one was so bad you had to lean on the door to shove it into reverse.

FWIW my favourite vans are Vauxhall Vivaro/Renault Trafics. They're fast, powerful, economical and comfy. They're not the most spacious but one of the easiest to live with I reckon. Also a decent quality interior.

The student is an expert on vans now

How long have you had your license for?…. You learnt to shake hands properly yet? A stonger arm and hand will help shifting into reverse..

Slow and in stock doesn't always mean 'in stock'. Saying that, the only thing I bought was some dirt cheap Lyriks before the price hike – so can't complain :-)

With duty stuck on top you're looking at around £3K at least.

Not keen on the lettering. But I think it looks pretty cool. Some dark grey stickers would look good.

I'm liking your super wide bars – for those of us with big chests and shoulders 8)

I'm guessing you didn't buy the headset or frames from them?

Seems a fair price to me regardless of the people on here banging on about the length of time it could or should take.

I went from a Moment to a DW Spot back in March. Huge difference!
Way way stiffer, pedals better with no wallow and doesn't hang up on certain hits, plush and nice and active under braking – better axle path too. Took it to the Alps in June and was way more confident on it than any of the Alpine trips I made on the Moment. It blasted down everything I threw at it.

You also know that the designer stands behind his product 100% and no need to worry about shady warranty or BS (TE has a famous history, plus my own experience of it). I emailed Dave Turner a question this morning and got a reply this afternoon – 7:30am his time. So you can bypass any bu11shit from distributors too.

I won't go into the hassles I had with two frames, crap I got from Freeborn and the legendary crap from Tony Ellsworth.

At the end of the day TE is not a designer, innovator or engineer… he's more of a money man… Plus he's now got caught up in producing bendy tubes.

They like to fly too :D

And when other bikes can't take anymore, one is still raring to go

When standing the suspension pretty much locked out (as you were standing on the swingarm!) then when sat they were like a pogo stick.

They sucked – whatever the position of the main pivot.

Have I been underestimating just how chanllenging mountain biking really is or are those two just a bit useless?

I trust you were never a novice then? Wow you're the best…

And that course they are about to ride is probably harder and longer than some people here have ever ridden…

Straitline one in titanium colour looks the nuts on my Ti 456, red Gamut one looks great on my white Slopestyle. Gamut one required a bit of filing to fit.
Main issue for me is I want to run 24/36 with a bash rather than 22/32 which means running non-XTR rings = heavier.

You would really feel the difference in weight? :|

Just get this for your XTR and man up

You could just put a bit of silicon sealant around where the cable goes into the battery pack. Or stick it in an old bit of innertube.

i wondered how long until the DX turned up. reading all the threads about how long they take to deliver i am not interested.

I don't mind waiting a few weeks (I ordered just before autumm – see what I did there?!). I'd rather save £250.

Glad you're not interested, more stock for everyone else. :D

You should try having GT and Inners local to you – then you'll know what posers are. They are the reason I ride SS a fair bit – you cant beat making Rambo look like a clueless ****.

Maybe they have added a modification to the charger. I know there is a demand but there have been some delays from the supplier to DX use lately.

Without reading the rest of the thread, where exactly are you again?

Also I'd hang in there for a bit, you're probably a bit unsettled at the moment. And remember you're not exactly stuck on the other side of the world.

The new Hawg is really good. The new backplate really is comfy. Otherwise a Northface Megamouth is good alternative.
