Remember Nigel’s trip to Edinburgh? Decided to hold a press conference in a pub without first clearing it with the landlord. No consideration for the people who were out just enjoying a bite to eat and a drink when the media scrum piled in to the pub. So if it’s ok for him to spoil other people’s time he can hardly complain when it happens to him, can he?

Is the Diamine ink much better than standard Lamy stuff?

I think so, but if you look on the Diamine web site there’s 2 things to note
    – a far bigger range of colours than Lamy
    – 30 ml botttles for £2.67

So, I don’t need a fountain pen but was seduced by reviews of the Italix pens mention ed. Ordered one (Churchman’s Prescriptor) yesterday, arrived today, and it is gorgeous. Heavy and well weighted, it writes beautifully, so if the OP is still looking these are definately worth a look. Need to find the paper to do it justice now

The driving lobby ensured that they were outside the remit of H&S law that’s why.

Like the number of hours an lgv driver can work before taking a break?

of course freight trains are timetabled

scheduled, not timetabled. Look at the timetables next time you’re in a station, how many freight trains do you see?

Bus drivers are only allowed to stop to pick up and drop off passengers at designated bus stops.

Shocking! I suppose they should follow the prescribed route as well? What’s the world coming to?

    “No trains are due”

..freight trains aren’t timetabled, porters probably don’t know they’re coming.

Also, walk into any town during the day during the week and look at how many taxis are sitting on ranks, They’re not earning. You make decent money at weekends at night ferrying drunks about hoping they don’t throw up in your car taking it off the road.

The problem with large bureaucratic institution is that they are wolves dressing up as sheep.
So you’re a zombie maggot in wolf’s clothing dressed as a sheep. Or something. Any chance of a picture?

    a poorly educated

    Well

The above quote make you highly irrational and illogical from a person who consider himself better than other(s). A sweeping statement associated with generalisation I thought is normally being labelled on me only but there you go.

is so meaningless it pretty much proves that point.

“how much is your best most expensive champagne?”

Most expensive doesn’t always, in fact rarely, means best. At a recent whisky tasting session which included whiskies int the £200-£300 a bottle category, the second best was the cheapest (Old Perth at £25).

I don’t believe the original poster was heading in that direction. They have obviously been through a tough time, and asking about the issue on here. No need to go to that extreme
No? A “superficial” burn and ” amazing and very efficient” service. Did he ask if he should complement on the amazing and very efficient service or complain about the superficial burn?

The NHS are accountable to nobody and therefore not interested in complaints.
Actually, every month I attend a meeting bwhere we discuss every complaint we get with the aim of ensuring that it doesn’t happen again. Sorry to spoil your Daily Mail vsions

The service we have received right from the start has been amazing and very efficient.

Go ahead, complain. Everyone knows the NHS staff are superhuman and never make mistakes. You might even get compensation which might not reduce the cash resources available to other areas of the NHS

3 weeks in the US with a camper would do me. Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Crater Lake. A day panning for gold on the Rogue River in Oregon. Californian redwoods. Vegas maybe, San Francisco’s worth a visit.

Assuming that I do stay in Edinburgh what are my options for maximising contact with the kids?

I was “one of the kids” in a divorce which sounds very similar to what you’ve described. Swallow what pride you have, talk to your ex, be as reasonable as possible. Ask to see the kids, don’t try poisonng but talk to them, it’s harder for them than it is for you, you at least understand what’s going on. The only way to stop the poisonong will be to stay in regular touch with the kids – that’s not going to happen if you’re on Lewis.
It’ll be hard, whatever happens, I hope it pans out for ypou

Trust my kids not to be ‘poisoned’.

I do sometimes wonder who falls for those Nigerian email scams.
To the OP – moving away is NOT the answer, you’re just letting the evil bitch loose
