The first one was just a poor Judge Dredd rip-off IMHO. Can’t really see what the fuss is/was about. Ok film, easy remake.

I believe after being used to matue whisky up tp 5 times, most whisky casks are used to smoke salmon with a fair few being used for furniture. So not likely to be cheap unles you can source off cuts from a cooperage.

When you fill it, fill it full and make sure to put a fair number of ice blocks in but remember that, like a fridge, as it empties it becoames less efficient so try and keep it topped up. Not sure how you would refreeze the freezer blocks though

Recently watched Night Of The Hunter, Casablanca and Brighton Rock at the pictures. On the big screen, they were just amazing.

fish & chips tomorrow, what to buy?

A bottle of Sarson’s malt vinegar. That way the chipper doesn’t have to soak the chips and they’re not soggy by the time you get home.

I’ve got a Soulpad (bell tent)
Pretty far from cheap, weighs a ton, and is just awesome – 2.5M high, 4M in diameter, one pole, up in less than 15 minutes, got a free upgrade to one that is fitted for a woodburning stove (yes, really). And on a really hot day the walls lift

Got the Halfords one, was cheap in sale and seems to be on offer regularly. 12v fine, Loaded with a few freezer blocks seems to stay cold for 24 hours off battery.

Tiger Moth – not for any aviation-related awesomeness, but because I once did a loop the loop in one whilst sitting in the passenger (front) seat

Fat doesn’t drip into the coals, it runs off to the side and into a moat.

Yeah, what’s missing from nthe OP#s picture is a plate which sits between the coads and the food. The plate has holes and channels which drain the fat away to the moat and away from the coals. And there’s a frying pan available for breakfast

Do the distillery tour – free nosing glass, Join the Friends (free) and the tour is free and you get a couple of quid off a bottle.
And see if you can’t fix up a tour of Ben Cruachan power station[/url] while you’re about it

ahh yes, Glengoyne (again, cheap shelf in Asda), very barley on the nose, no peat at all. mmm smooth, vanilla, a bit of liquorice in the finish. Not at all bad.

Singleton of Glen Ord – Christmas pudding, love it, but only available from the distillery
Oban – light, vanilla, a touch of salty tang, love it too
Auchentoshan – triple distilled, unpeated and very, very smooth (and on the cheap shelf in Asda), guess what – love it
Glenmorangie Quinta Rubain – some time n port wood casks (2 yrs?), nice long chocolatey finish – might be my favourite whisky

Basically what it stands for, what’s happened in it, etc. Without leaving the UK there are loads of far more important buildings: the Houses of Parliament, No. 10, Canterbury Cathedral, etc. From a historical point of view the Glasgow School of Art is a non-entity.

Guff. I work in a large hospital – day in and day out the whole panolopoly of the human experience plays out, births, deaths, tragedy and hope. But it’s just a building where stuff happens. The historical context doesn’t make it important, just like watching a great movie in the cinema doesn’t make that cinema great.

it might be an important building from an architectural (and arts) point of view, but it’s hardly that important in any other way

..and how many other ways are there for a building to be important?

Bit too much Laphroaig there for me. If I could be arrised taking a photo I would, but current collection is Caol Ila 25yo, Highland Park, Oban, Cardhu, Talisker, Glen Ord, Cragganmore, Glenkinchie, Glengoyne, Auchentoshan, Royal Lochnagar and Glenturret
EDIT last of the Glenturret just gone.

As well as, as has been pointed out CRM didn’t just design the building, he designed everything, from the exterior to the door handles, all in a building designed for everyday use.

Bloke on the radio said he was on the phone to someine in Barcelona and said it was probaby the most important building Scotland. Reply – no you’re wrong, it’s probaby the most important building in Europe.
Tucked out of the way in a back street. There are numerous buildings of far less merit in far more prominent positions.
    Gutted.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms, bit of a struggle at times but is an absolutely epic tale including gems like the warrior shot in eye the by an arrow pulling the arrow, out came the eyeball so he scoffed it so as not to dishonour his parents, or the hunter who had an honoured guest but had no food, so cooked up his wife, causing the guest to “shed tears of gratitude” when he found out.

More common sense than legislation. Some local rules, speed limits on some rivers and the like. Licence to use VHF.

I did, a couple of times, including get me home with abroken motorcycle. if was still paying, I’d still be with them, only stopped because I’ve got a freebie through the bank. couldn’t fault them so would recommend

Bike out for a ride at the weekend. Nice enough day, do the washing first, hang it out and off I go. Does it rain? Nope, at least not till I’m 15 miles away and as far as I’m going to get from home, just turning into the return leg and….
And, if you want to speed through the supermarket checkout, just pick any till I’m not standing at

Well given the fact none of you lived through the period and I did read the Daily Mail and fantasise about it on regular basis and this is the first I’ve heard of intimidation of a blind woman, I’m afraid as usual your perceptions are as warped as normal.
