Have to say I thought it was great. Really well done IMO. Got there early on Saturday because it’s obviously going to be busy. Was there at 8:15 anticipating said queues. They opened up at 8:45, not the 9:30 stated above. Great guys. Capra CF Pro 29 was a great bike and definitely in the list for the next time I upgrade

Saddle height potentially. I have to have mine ever so slightly lower than what (I interpret) people to say is the ideal.

I have a 17 Octavia vrs estate. And a dog (springer/Labrador cross) – She fits in. We also have a Honda jazz – she fits in that too, but not with much luggage.

Had it after an A6. Boot noticeably smaller, but not yet had an issue taking anything I need – Except for when going away for a week and taking silly things like golf clubs we fill roofbox more than we did with Audi.

Also as above I’d recommend a divider in the boot if you want to carry anything else.

Performance wise I like it. Not silly quick but quick enough for me and much sportier than the A6. Feels smaller (it is) which also helps. Don’t drive it in sport mode much and get c34mpg driving 60 miles a day including some motorway. Put your foot down or put in vrs mode and you can almost see the needle move.

Also had 3 bikes on roof and associated people and kit in car no probs – although as it’s less wide than A6 have to use a lot of the rail (just don’t go too close to trees)

I recently got a 3r. If between sizes it’s definitely worth trying both.

Medium was best fit without guard but with the guard was super tight.

Went for the large in the end, but do have to ratchet it up.

Do you get much changing of the lead? All stuff I’ve seen (a while ago) appeared to be decided early on.

Lab/springer cross here. Awesome in almost every way – and that way is that she barks at stuff she doesn’t understand, like kids that all of a sudden just jump to the side and shout something (because they are kids and unpredictable). Parents don’t like that. However she has literally never barked at our two year old – seemed to understand she was one of the pack, and if ever she is prodded or pulled, she just takes herself away.

Would I get another – absolutely – but I do find it quite tiring on walks having to be observant for things she might bark at so that I can distract before gets spooked (another example is fat beardy men wearing hats).

My Dad picked me up from school in one when I was younger (right hand drive twin turbo). I walked straight past it as I wasn’t expecting him to pick me up. Felt like a right nob when I had to open the wing doors in front of everyone.

I got a 2 year old A6 avant for a little less than that. 170bhp 2l tdi. Lots of space. Long life servicing so it’s every 19k miles or 2 years (more expensive on individual service, but cheaper over time).

Would I buy again – yes – love it other than low profile tyres which make it a bit harsh given amount of mileage I do.

Emma – we call her a Springador, but I quite like the term Labradinger! Or mongrel.

Del – fully grown pics for you – she’s just basically like a small labrador

and, a bit dark, but her playing ‘leave it’ with a little treat.

Couldn’t resist a post of Jenna when she was a pup (lab springer cross)

    or maybe two

Our dog used to eat bakers and was fine, then all of a sudden got the squits and went off food. Gave chicken and rice, then back on bakers and she got the squits and went off food again.

Changed food and she’s all good.

Can’t quite remember, but we were told bakers has derivatives in it (eg, meat derivative – though may not be a meat one) and this means they can change the recipe without changing the contents label. It’s possible that this may have happened.

Watch out for sniffing – mine often circled the room sniffing the edges before she wanted to go.

Also try associated a word with it when praising – we rather imaginatively used ‘wee-wee’. Now she knows what that means and will almost go on command when we let her out.

Thanks for the advice. I’m now over myself.

I never found the bottle with pebbles/coins thing worked that well. My dog jumped out of her skin the first time, the second time she looked confused and the third time she didn’t care.

What did work was shutting her out of the room you’re in for 20-30s as she hated being separated from us

My dog likes horse poo if it’s fresh. That’s pretty horrible to clean up if she vomits afterwards

Yeah good shout on the parking – will look into that.

Did a night ride the other weekend – only complaint I had was it was bloody freezing

Just picked up our new buggy on Saturday. Went for an iCandy peach jogger which is a 3 wheeler jobby as we have to push over fields and rough paths whilst walking the dog.

Phil and teds were more sturdy, but really liked the collapse and uncollapse mechanism as can easily do one handed.

I’m in Bristol. Small Victorian mid terrace and got quoted c£5k including VAT to replace everything other than the wood. No flat roof though.

So 12 seems disproportionately high to me

I had 2004 XT shifters, which I reckon were better than my 2009 slx ones. I feel like I might be kidding myself, but I did have them running on different bikes at te same time

That’s probably true MSP. The thing that scares me most is that a terriers jaws are almost impossible to prise apart.

Well it’s done now, but they aren’t half squealing (can’t please some people, eh?).

Might research some new ones – at least I don’t have to change the pads that often. More often than my old hope mono minis though. I didn’t have to change the pads in 6 years!

Yeah avids. I’ll get there, but I feel it shouldn’t be this problematic. Thinking about it – it’s not this problematic on the front

Andorra (maybe pas de la casa) is good for beginners, but any experienced folks in your group may get a little bored.

The headland hotel in Newquay has self catering cottages/lodges. Not sure if they allow dogs, but the hotel does so I would assume so.

They must take theft seriously in some areas – logging that one of their mates have taken a packet of crumpets and some milk.

Here’s Jenna, my 15 month old Labrador-Springer cross – or Springador if you prefer.

Biting off more than she can chew

    Ball please!

If I sit, will you give me the ball?

Yup – been out already this morning. Just a quick loop from my house, round Ashton court in Bristol, and back.

Started at 7:20 in the dark and finished when it was light. Night / dawn rides are ace. I saw more deer than people until the very end. One even ran parallel to the trail for about 20 yds.

The wind and rain was less enjoyable, but the mist made it cool for a while

There are car parks lower down; one by the mansion and one nearer Long Ashton. The latter is nearly empty nearly all of the time so I tend to use that

Yeah I’m working for the rest of the week. No one else will be there. Might work from home so that I can go on a ‘night/dawn’ ride first

Went there this morning, via Ashton court, for a first ride. I liked it. Bit between the main car park and the hole in the wall was a little dull, but the rest was pretty good fun. No sign of any closed bits that I saw, but maybe it was on a bit with a choice of routes?

Also thought the keener section was good, but I was a numpty and came off on the last roller – really pogo’d the fork into the trail.

Mexican lasagne – made with tortillas rather than pasta – surprisingly tasty.

Get on one of your mates computers and send an email to the whole office saying “Could the person who has borrowed my hemorrhoid cream from the fridge please return it asap”

To make it better go and buy a tube of ‘anusol’ and write “property of ‘….'” on it.

Made me laugh in my office, especially as the email went out to about 200 people

morgs – absolutely – we met her mother (springer) and she’s nowhere near as nuts. Plus now she’s a little older she doesn’t mind doing a fair bit of sleeping. And she was easy to train with the Labrador stomach.

The springer really comes out in her when we’re outside, particularly in the way she leaps (springs) though long grass or if she’s searching for something her tail goes in a helicopter motion, which is quite like Springers I believe
