So I just wanted to share a further update in the hope it may help other new mothers and fathers in future.

So we were noticing that he was still being very high maintenance and it was really taking its toll on us, also his ecszema was getting out of control on his legs and tummy and arms so we knew something wasn’t right. Finally at 7 months Mum decided that it was time to go dairy free after an appointment with the hospital dietician for him.

So finally has stopped expressing for him, and we have now been prescribed dairy and soy free formula and have seen such a big change!
When he just wouldn’t before, now enjoys tummy time etc…, ecszema nearly all gone (they said it’ll take around 3 weeks ) and he’s just so much more placid.

So so far the cure, off mums milk and on prescribed dairy and soy free formula!

We already tried making her go dairy free for her for 1 month which was hell for her, so when the dietician said you need to do it again AND cut out soy that’s in a huge amount of things it forced her hand to go formula but wouldn’t look back now!!

Oh that’s another one that boils my piss too, literally the words they are using don’t make sense.

I’d reply saying i’m glad you could care less as just goes to show what a conscious individual you are and it’s good to know you really do care, let them figure out that one for a good ten minutes. 😂

Oh don’t, please change it otherwise I’ll start twitching. There are spelling mistakes which are forgivable on a document if it’s audience isn’t far reaching but when Definitely is religiously spelt wrongly and it’s not even noticed. I cry inside.

Trust me I do have bigger things to worry about like a 7 month old baby. But it absolutely winds me up.

We have a new leader at work, he does it. However he also has many other brilliant qualities…… how can I respect someone who can’t spell the queens (Kings) English?

Oh wow yeah I’ve done one of hers before, the pinkbike one and got benefit from it!

Thanks for that, I didn’t know she had her own channel but that looks really beneficial! Whenever I do it I tend to just do the same Yoga with Adriene ones over and over as don’t want to push my back too much!

Can’t beat a sun salutation though!

Totally agree, I was doing a yoga with Adriene hips and lower back yoga last night at 11pm and I felt great afterwards and still do!

I’ll just carry on like this!

I get the feeling that sharp movement wouldn’t be good for my back right now!

I do throw him up and catch him, which he loves!

Yeah that’s a sod is that one! Especially into an A3! I believe i started another convo about that a while ago being so disgusted that the car I wanted for such a long time even as a 5dr was a terrible choice for having a newborn my poor lass who’s 5’3 doesn’t even have enough relax in the seat to fall asleep comfortably!

Anyway back on topic, part of the battle is while he’s now sleeping upstairs I could do with warming up and then doing some weights work, on top of a Gousto and a bread and butter pudding!

I think I should just re-subject my post to say “how do I actually fit in the exercises I should be doing” when I end up watching tv instead 🙃

    chrisyork
    Full Member

Thanks so yes I totally do this already, I have to do it sounds like I just need to warm up and then get on the kettlebells and build up to doing heavier weights

    chrisyork
    Full Member

Ginge yes that’s the same as me! So I find to protect my back I have to wriggle right to the front of the sofa and make sure my legs are taking all the weight and not my core. Keep them close to you too I think.

But aside from that that’s where my suggestions end

    chrisyork

Good god is this what it’s come to? 😂
I will say as well i’m sure I’m getting stronger slowly all the time, holding him/picking him up/down and swinging him around but I think exercises that work the back and core and arms are the ones I’m looking for

Good lord this made me laugh, back in the days of those crappy micro filters!

On with the ISP who had you do tests and checks and sent you out another 50p microfilter and it fixed the issue…

Hope you get sorted, great advice by others here

To be honest I totally agree with you. SUV’s are just taller smaller cars than an estate so me personally I’m thinking of changing to an A4 Avant (I love Audi’s) . Or possibly a Skoda as boots are huge.

I don’t think I was thinking too much when I replied earlier (babybrain).

I suppose SUV’s are likely popular as they make you feel like you have more presence on the road? Taller for passengers?
Tbh I’m clutching at straws here, similar to OP I can’t really see the use for them. Just another way for a manufacturer to sell more cars

Missus wants one, she’s 5’3 and wants to be higher up!
We have a 6 month old and will allow us to take loads more things on holiday or anywhere.
Her issue is finding one that can rival the 165bhp that her 64 plate Astra 5dr has!
It’s surprisingly quick, and more roomier than my A3. Then again you can fill a donut with more than you can an A3….

    Times like that require bacon.

BLT sarnie or my favourite which I always use as a go to if I just need to eat. Omelette on toast!
Has to be in toast as an omelette alone won’t fill me!

Good shout though someone, pasta takes minutes, spoon pesto through it. Chop some toms and whack parmesan on top, 15 mins tops and it’s carby so will properly fill you

One place I don’t recommend was Yverdon Les bains, last year we went to Metabief Bikepark which was brilliant, stayed in Orbe in Switzerland and went on an evening to Yverdon Les bains…. Was a very odd place, I think with it being close to the Swiss border it felt like a real border town and not a nice one really. We thought we’d be getting a true Swiss atmosphere there. We were mistaken, just Swiss prices! 😂

These are the sort of deals I never find at the right time 😂 I swear when my SRAM disks needed replacing I paid £25 or something like that and of course I needed them next day so the postage was nuts! That’s a great price for those disks though

I can fully recommend stopping in Laon on the way down, what a stunning place, we didn’t mean to stop but had to and so glad we did! Drive up high to the old town, the eateries are in such quintessential old French streets and there is a cathedral that makes anything in the UK look like a Chapel! Just make sure you don’t get there too late after lunchtime as food stops and there’s few places to eat!

I agree though my Fiancée’s parents have a holiday home close to Beaune, go to the Beaune market and you won’t be disappointed…. Especially the rotisserie chicken stall! Hugely popular, also just so much local and fresh food and great for a wander.

Any places around the Burgundy region have some cracking restaurants too, you pay for the privelige but really do feel you’re in the best wine region surrounded by Vineyards – some producing the best Premier Cru

I would totally agree to that Hannah, my Charlotte had a hard pregnancy and then after a forceps delivery seeing her barely able to walk or even sit was so hard! But she still had to express and was woken up every 3-4 hours. Those days were so hard for me to watch, luckily I can help with feeds as she’s expressed from day 1 to about 6 months and work from home and genuinely don’t know how for example even single mums do it. It’s incredibly demanding! Rewarding as they grow up but yes, we’re only having one! I just look forward to when Weeride make a bracket that makes sense for a mountain bike and for when he’s old enough for a Shotgun!

I was dubious at first but then tried it for a few things, not as a replacement for learning something but as additional and it’s been very useful!

What I don’t like is when I saw our junior team members having it as a favourite on their browser, bearing in mind these are peopl in the early stages of their careers in IT and I don’t believe there are shortcuts to learning and luckily it’s still humans that do the promoting!

I will say, a few of these users every after passing basic industry grade quals are still very poor at their job and I’m struggling to understand how! It’s like the younger generation just don’t give a toss, want more money but can’t even get the fundamentals right! Yes we have an issue! We now can’t seem to be able to promote from within to our team as the team that escalate work to us…. Are terrible at their own jobs! Sorry, this turned into a bit of a rant!!

Well if they’re anything like the TRP Slate on my missus’ Whyte that she’s had for 3 years they’ll be brilliant!

Obviously I don’t advocate this really but never had any maintenance and just work!! No wandering bite point etc…. Shimano and SRAM could learn a thing or two from them 😂

An interesting thread that I also now have first hand experience of!

Short answer no, I don’t know how anyone would want to go through it again after having ine. We will not be having another 😂 , but for so many reasons. She had a hard pregnancy, the birth was tbh horrible which gave her mental health issues she’s still fighting now and I think because it was been such a transformation of our lives we’re both just looking forward to him being a child and being able to do things with him.

Don’t get me wrong he is our absolute world and only tonight did I coax full on giggles out of him and not even being biased he’s a much better looking baby than either of us two !

Windows has scheduled tasks which may work, only issue will be once the pc is shutdown it’s doubtful it’ll turn on again. Unless you have a way to give it wake on lan, which sends packets to the machine to power it back on. You can poss put it to sleep and then wake up rather then shutdown

Just near and past CEX they’ve got a takeaway noodle place, but once you’re down there quite a few restaurants and we did see a Thai one the other day I think on stonegate. Which is a proper restaurant…. Can’t recommend but it’s centre of York so it’ll be good. Also right near Brewdog too if that works

I bought the anker £50 buds off amazon that are noise cancelling and I’ve been really impressed by them! Great bass and for work calls/music they’re great and when paired to my phone the NC is pretty good!

Sorry thanks for the replies on this and if I can get the measurements then will definitely see if someone here who replied has what I need

I’m sure as you appreciate, you can understand how I’ve not been able to respond for weeks as I’ve not even seen my MTB in weeks 😂 , best news though junior is starting to hold his head up much better and kicks like a lunatic so hoping that transfers into childhood and bikes!

Pretty bad system if you can’t go through to customer services and they search the “legacy systems” to get the info they need. Least you still have financial data, pretty sure they need to keep that for 7 years

Stainburn is quite close to me, the rock roll is good fun just when you think you might die… but I found that you really have to have a well setup suspension to really enjoy the full tracks on the trail centre side as they are BUMPY! The black is pretty techy at parts too and the climb back up if you’re inside the trees is techy and if you’re going straight up the track, is steep as hell!

The top of the road is brilliant though, some great off piste tracks, properly wild if too wet though!

Wouldn’t travel too far for it, I would for Gisburn though for example, love that place and can’t wait to go back!

So I have back issues, ever since the young days when I tried to stop a 20kg bag from hitting the floor.

I do yoga as often as I can, always doing the yoga with Adriene ones for lower back. Move making sure you put more focus on your legs rather than your back bending.

I find it I rush and I’ve done it twice just bending down fast after a shower I’ve caused my back to go and it’s inflamed badly for 2 days and in those two days I can’t stand up straight.

It’s all about prevention anyway, what works for one won’t necessarily work for all

Amazing thank you for the quick delivery, for me as a new dad. Since getting the magazine around 4 days ago tonight has been the first time I’ve had time to browse past the cover!

I decided I’d try my hardest to feed and get baby to sleep, around 20 mins which is a record for me, which means STW is open and entertaining me!!

Ouch that doesn’t sound nice, it seems that all three of us are finally getting through the other side of it. It seems cold and flu now is just making my nose run, but not in a productive “I’m getting rid of this” way.

The feeling of a lump in my throat has gone which was just an odd feeling and likely after 3 weeks I’m feeling more normal. So is my female, she had it very bad and only in the last few days stopped coughing so hard she thought her insides were going to drop out (by the sounds of it a realistic feeling 4 months after giving birth)

    chrisyork

It’s just unbelievable! I’ve had a full two packs of cold and flu which usually fights the most hardiest of bugs.

however my throat is if anything now getting worse! My poor lass being a new Mum has had the same but far worse for over 2 months and just recently I feel my throat like I’ve got something in it, honey and lemon help to soothe for a few hours then it just comes straight back…. What the hell is it!!

    chrisyork

Just catching up on this, wow as it’s been mentioned I think these bugs have maybe evolved! So I went from feeling pretty good to today feeling like my head was out of it and not even a sore throat but just not a normal one….so odd! We used to sleep with windows on the latch too but can’t at the moment because of little un and it getting too cold for him

Yearsley’s great! I used to work 20 mins away and we used to go straight from work and go shred trails…. Would always start at the top and then hit pirate radio a few times then head down.

When you get to the bottom there’s a climb to get upto the top and then there’s some brilliant trails there…. Not been in so long! The sort of place a fairly fit biker would thrive or an ebike as there’s some “keep you honest” hills to get back to the top. I remember hitting Covid19 trail around pandemic time and just loving it!

As said too if you head over to kilburn and get to the top you’ll be met with minutes of downhill and there are some wild trails there! If dry’ish should be great as in the summer there tends to be loads of midges/flies and you’re almost guaranteed to get bit by a horsefly if in shorts! 😆

Also hit sutton bank and you’ll find a brand newly built big pumptrack!

We’ve had our 598’s on the cars for probably 4 years now and with 3 years of at least 2 trips away a month with the bikes on and no issues. One rack has started creaking a bit but it’s all still plenty right and solid. Few of those trips have been 12 hour drives at over 80 too.

Fantastic racks and well worth their price….

Was on for 12, no ticket option. 10 past, no ticket option…. Had decided the missus got the wrong day and they weren’t released today. She comes back an hour later saying did I get tickets, by the gondola tickets gone for finals! Frustrating!

We even have fort Glen Nevis camping pod booked too for a few days and no tickets. Hope this is just the presale and there’s another batch of tickets!

Fair play, I now WFH for 99% of the time and sometimes get to Thursday and realise I’ve not even left the house!

Usually I know as I start getting an odd headache, trying harder to get out at lunch and go for a walk which helps reset my mind
