My friend smashed his collarbone into 7 pieces at Cannock and he’s back on his bike after 6 weeks, we did the Dalby blue/red loop the other day as an intro and he could ride……just can’t push too hard because it’s still not healed apparently!

Fingers crossed yours heals up soon!

Ahh brilliant thanks for the reply, it was just the last event i did was True Grit and i’m sure we got something sent out previously but that’s fine if that’s the way they do the format then no worries.

    Tyred Knobs are in !

I had a bad back, after lots of chiro and also doctors appointments what made a huge improvement to me was going to see a sports physio….the person I saw dealt with rugby and football players after injury. He gave me exercises which really seemed to help.

The only issue I have now due to my height is tingling pain in my back after prolonged sessions washing pots (I’m not kidding) and j also warm up and down after a ride too

WHat? Dog walkers using the bike trail and not cleaning up? Ahhh come on, that’s bad! Yeah the bmx track is really good, really pushes you and the trail into the woods is brilliant. Lots of it can just be ridden over and over….get yourself there. Not that impressed with the long red jumps though they’re good and challenging until half way and then you spend your time riding up jumps….not many people can jump uphill 😂

Very disappointed that i’m not going to be able to make this, we have two entries (but no tickets) which we’ll have to give up, just to let people know that that should free up another two places

Just saw this and wanted to add my twopence, they’re really good sheds!

Make sure you have a good solid level base, we would really struggle not having the 29er shed even though neither of us have 29’ers.. 2 road bikes and 2 650B bikes in there and securely locked. Couldn’t get anymore than 4 in there.

They’re VERY loud to use which is very good as they are very sturdy, would suggest a PIR alarm too….any movement is instantly going to deter any burglar!

I’m going to get them emailed as I spent £35 helping it get funded and I’ve not had the download link !!

Anyone got a raspberry pi camera kit and doing it themselves? It’s what I’m thinking of…

I just wanted to update this in case anyone reads it, shortly after my last post I received the dropper post! It seems a far better engineered post for sure, had a bit of a job getting the old post off but I was being a bit moronic as I hadn’t loosened the tension at the lever with the adjuster…..then the cable popped off the post, new one greased and slid in and so far so good! Ok not actually done a ride with it yet but it’s so much more powerful than the last one!

Also a thumbs up to e*thirteen, the support person emailing me actually advised exactly how the old post came off and I’d usually be a response the next day to any questions….and they gave me le-way timewise when I struggled to get the old post off to send it back to them.

Happy to answer any questions, also can pm me on here if I don’t reply promptly as I’ll probs miss the message

Ah right ok, I thought that the RCT3 would have high and low speed compression basically more adjustment

Thanks for letting me know, I think I might just get the shockwiz rented to get optimal setup from them and they rear then…..

Oh blimey, I’m not speedy Gonzales….. I’ll ignore those responses and do what I probably should’ve done first of all and read the post from the beginning to get a good idea and learn what I don’t know.

I’m looking at buying a 63 plate Audi A3 TDI 150 which has current car tax of £20 ….

ive looked at the 1.4 TFSI but the fuel economy seems really bad , I do 40 miles a day and my TDI current golf of 20 years still achieves 45mpg and I don’t hang about…

    Am I a fool?

I had this with mine after a week’s alpine riding in the alps, just needed an air bleed and more fluid adding 👍

Thought of spending a bit more? The Transition Scout is an incredible bike! I got mine at £2800 last year and didn’t regret paying for it one bit

Mine are freeriders my lass got me from Canyon’s website, they were £50 last year. Brilliant shoes! Even great in winter, been out for hours and so long as you don’t soak your shoes in water then they’ll still keep your feet warm

I’m looking to chop in my VW Golf mk4 GTTDI as it’s an X Reg….. my heart wants the almost new Audi A3 TDI Sport 150 but my head suggests the Seat Leon FR TDI 150 or 180.

Driven the Audi before at my old job and fell in love with it, think my heart might win!

I saw these and love the look of them, when they were at 2800 or so i almost bit, went for Transition instead and then had it stolen after 3 months….. maybe it was karma!!

Well the response was good and quick from them, they’re sending me a new seatpost and I’m to return the old one to them so keen to see what this one’s like!!

Stick for me, it’s a font……I have larger things to think about than a font. Plus I work in IT and know that these changes and a website re-skin takes time and I bet the designer will be cheesed off if all their hard work was in vain…

I’d say that surely the suspension makers will make the best posts as that’s what they solely do in a way, their seals are designed to keep all the gunk out and they really do!

    chrisyork
    Full Member

Maybe the new seal will fix it, I’m going to push for a replacement post… it’s not good enough!

Also fitnessischeating I’ve recognised the same thing, with the bike clean it wouldn’t hit the top setting, loosened the clamp so it was just tight enough and then it would…..but as said, one 21 mile light muddy ride and the post was none operational!

Hi Neb, just for clarification mine has already had the new spring and it was unworkable. When I first got the bike within a few rides the post was terrible so I contacted the hive who sent me out a new spring kit, fitted that and more power but still stuck solid after a gloopy ride. It sounds like Tetrode has got the right idea getting them to send a new one. Just out of interest Tetrode, have you been out in muddy sloppy rides with it? Mine got absolutely grafted yesterday with just light thin mud not big floppy bits and got to the point it wouldn’t even raise…

My dropper has got contaminated and my chain is actually rusty! Easily sorted with a degrease….my fault as I used thin lube on the chain and then went on a boggy ride!

Well…..been out as much as I can but came off in uncut snow at Hammers the other week, ripped my jacket elbow :(

Can’t wait for this, it’ll be my first ever event. Used to going quick and getting loose and love techy riding so should be spot on! The training for it has started!!

Haha thank you for that, I had looked but couldn’t see a post.

I did the summer True Grit, it was great….a lot of it was hard packed, a couple of pretty technical sections which my FS Capra swallowed up no problem. We were the minority as most were on CX bikes or hardtails. Great event, good fun, expect plenty of climbing but also still plenty of varied riding. Also went through grassy fields privately owned and down tracks you’d never normally be able to ride…..

    hope this helps

That’s a shame, always is to beat shops shutting up. I can imagine there are so many places in Wales but in Yorkshire there’s only a few I’ve heard about , I might have to check out MB Wales in that case so thanks for that tip!

    chrisyork

We watched it too, they do a fantastic job because I was blown away at how technical and actually challenging the tracks were when I last went….so far they’re the best trails i’ve Ridden for techy lines but I’ve not done a few of the bigger ones yet

Nice one I’ll weaken it off when I can in that case, could do with a. Torque wrench so I get the correct torque on things rather than nip it then tighten…
