I got the IspecB version, I agree and I was just hoping to use the existing Matchmaker and very surprised they aren’t compatible….

I’m just so surprised that they aren’t compatible, really poor on behalf of these massive companies, all it is is a slight metal shape change

Genuinely though I think I need help, I’ve found problemsolvers but they all seem to be Shimano brakes and matching to SRAM gears.

I’m the other way, SRAM Guide RS brake lever to an XT rear shifter…

I thought from my initial research that the two were directly compatible but I was wrong…

I’ll prefix it’s a SRAM Guide RS brake lever with some form of matchmaker that was fitted from factory so the shifter clamps onto the brake lever

Well bloody bollocks, so I got an XT shifter and XT mech. Go to attach the shifter to the Brake lever mount, doesn’t bloody fit does it!!

I bought the ISpec B shifter as it looked like it would fit, but it doesn’t…

I’m sure this has happened in the past with people too, surprised there are all these standards!

Hahaha I am a 36” waist, ahh some great options there! I just fancied some “nicer” joggers, BUT didn’t want to pay the Earth. Some great options there!

I did get to week 7 on MTBFitness course which might’ve brought me to a 34, but then xmas hit and I’ve got so many things going on now struggle to fit it in!! Thank god I’ve got my bike locally to keep the fitness going!!

Now that you mention it, eco credentials and free returns sounds very attractive

An absolutely massive difference especially if they’re setup well. The power hydraulics have, stop a car from silly speeds to nothing in next to no time, scale it down a bit and you’ve got that sort of braking intensity but on a bike and with modulation if you wish 👍

They’re five times the price of primark ones… 😂

I do have bamboo socks and they are amazing, they were a present though, but I may be tempted to just stop having a sad face after looking forward to another delivery!!

    Binners……

The hilarious truth about that is I’d never shop at sports direct, but the Superdry ones came from there!

Ahh ok so ASICS could be an option
Any good mtb brands anyone wears for casual ones? Found some Santa Cruz ones on stif but they’re £50 and could also be too short 😂

Any other suggestions for the gangly legged of us?

Those bam joggers look good, is it me that just thinks £50 for joggers is just a lot of money too…. I’m comparing to the disposable primark ones that aren’t meant to last longer than 2 years really….or 2 minutes 😆

Hahaha, honestly I’m not prod of the fact I have had to return so much!

It’s getting expensive on postage as struggling to find free returns companies too, £100 road bike bibs, 2x£35 superdry joggers and more….
    Postage £5 each time!!

I’m a Yorkshireman, postage costs grate on me 🤣

Also….nobody advertises the inside length of joggers!

Bought some forbike ones the other month from France and they were perfect, then I washed them and now they’re shorter! But just about ok, wonder if anyone else has the same issues being long legged!

Wanted to chime in with this, OH also had hers today with her dealing with Covid patients since March and previous.

Is never ill and within hours feverish getting very cold even with the heating up and a sore arm…. tucked up in bed now so hopefully she’ll have a good nights sleep

Okay thanks, I think we’re going to get another plumber and see what they think.

    A
We definitely need as much fall as we can as the missus has ALOT of hair, long long curly hair 😆 it gets everywhere.

One time my toe felt sore, took my sock off and somehow her hair had got into my sock, and wrapped itself around my little toe and cut off all its circulation, luckily I realised and wound it off 😆

Incredible work people, so good to hear there are volunteers out there. My missus works as a radiographer doing X-rays of all the horrible covid chests and she needs me for taking her mind off it…. if she wasnt working in that capacity then I’d volunteer too.

Once again well done, you’re all heroes!

Yep sounds like i was right to replace the mech too…. only doing that as well as the spring on the X1 mech is weakening so it’s need changing anyway. Shimano seemed the right way to go, and a hell of alot cheaper too!

Missus hates them, she’s a radiographer and it’s all she sees in summer is nasty breaks from when it goes wrong…

If you can control the kids then could be fun but be prepared for injuries!!

You’re right Kayak i do follow lots on youtube but find myself looking at insta more nowadays…. i can imagine there’s been a few bike shops that have posted up some good content since around March time.

THanks Ned i’ll have a look at that and see what’s on there

I foolishly signed upto do 30 hours of activity this month on Strava……being so busy with other things i checked yesterday and 1/3 of the month i’ve done 2.5! LOL
Maybe i’ll save the 30 hours for when we’re really allowed to be out for long times and not having walls to paint, bricks to rip up etc etc !!!!!!

Not a lot at all, been doing up our house that’s from late 18th century so had lots to do…
Went out for a road ride on the MTBs today (no trails around us) and just before we set off my gear cable snapped!! Bike telling me not to neglect it😆

I’ve got a Schumacher cat2000 which I found the other day, remember when my uncle got me into racing. The skill of the drivers is unbelievable!

G-form give them a go? Whether or not they have what you need?
Got mine from fort Bill world champs about 3 years ago for £25 but that price is doubled now. Just bought the missus knee and elbows that came to 100 notes but can’t put a price on not gouging your knees out 👍

Think I got caught out by this yesterday, bloody Brexit…. went to order from bikediscount.de to find that the UK had been removed from their postage location (I couldn’t find it anyway)

Great, the one place that had the item I wanted…. I can’t buy from.

Wow lots of information there, the pi solution or multiple speakers are not possible really as just want the one speaker. I have a pi myself but simplicity is the key as fiancée is an absolute technophobe and is better at radiography than figuring out why something has stopped connecting etc!!

The audio pro’s look possible, it’s whether they can be used how id want to use them. So if I was watching a YT video the audio comes out of it than a mobile device

    Ha totally Eddie, amazing band!

My brother has a Sonos and also recently bought the Bose that’s similar but said he couldn’t hear any sound quality improvements for the increased price of the Bose!

I bette follow it up with I don’t just listen to Dave Pearce, it could be Billy talent, the National, Prince… but DP gets me fired up for cooking!

MarkyG, it’s usually from my iPhone or iPad, missus has an android phone, no I can’t get YouTube music to play through the Google home and the main reason for changing is it’s a “mini” and we want proper sound in the kitchen, impressive bass and sound which after hearing it the Sonos does deliver, but it has to be used with its own App which is the main drawback for me

Ha mine’s a joke this year, nearly every weekend we’ve been Renovating a
House and went nowhere on holiday riding and barely rode… so I won’t even post mine!

Oh btw I’m fine with black and white pepper as they’re a different type. It’s actual peppers or anything related…

    chrisyork

Oh yes I remember when my housemate at the time before I settled down would cook with chilli and within seconds I was coughing as it gets in the air…

Does sound like it might be slightly related, god I feel sorry for her that’s even worse than me and I thought I was about the worst. Literally one bag of crisps with paprika in gave me 48 hours of blocked and then runny nose hell…. I even say that the symptoms aren’t worth the short joy I’d get for eating something with it in!

Worst part is I love it, pepperoni, a chilli with heat in, flavoured crisps…. it does seem to have got worse within I’d say the last few years for sure.

I wonder if there’s a study out there that’s looking at long term metabolic changes? I say this as I used to be able to eat it, then since I met my now fiancée I have this huge intolerance to it, and she’s gluten intolerant so could there be something in the way my body reacts to eating some gluten free things? I have my own bread as hers is terrible, but we share pasta. Even she says gluten intol is easier as it’s recognised and clearly marked… no such luck for mine, people who don’t understand can be frustrating but soon as they see me unable to talk without tissues they soon see why…. sorry if this is boring to some, has been interesting hearing other views though…

I just wanted to pipe up about this…..found some crisps I though I could eat the other day as didn’t Have paprika in…..

My usual symptoms came back, checked further and they had E160C in, otherwise known as paprika extract!!!

Couldn’t believe it, wanted to mention it should it help others in future!

Yearsley when it’s drier is great, helps if you’ve got a good level of fitness as there are really fun downs but the ride up is a lung burner… you’ll get fit in no time doing it a few times, pirate radio at the top is a great fun trail, quite easy to just session that before you go further into the forest. Trailforks and looking at the elevation can help you plan a route or use others rides.

I used to work close to there so used to go after work, but it’s an hour to there for me now, so Sherwood pines is closer to me… I went a while ago and was underwhelmed but they’ve done work up there now and it is actually a really good ride, it’s not hard but you get out what you put in…. if you potter round you’ll enjoy, if you smash the pedals in sections you’ll love it and there’s not alot of climbing either.

Still need to get to all the Dalby off piste as the few I’ve done are great, but not managed to find all the really fun stuff yet as not been back for a while.
Some YouTube videos like the one that was posted on here a while ago showcased some great trails! Few lads with lots of lights on their bikes shredding, made it look like alot of fun! Also just over an hour away Hamsterley is great too!!
