They really are getting huge now, looks like a really good chilled out vibe. I have it on every time I’m cooking to keep me in the zone!

Not done one, wasn’t sure if it would be best turning up on a crapper bike with the risk of dodgy eyes watching out. Without a doubt there are definitely some odd ones on those rides, full balaclava’s and sunglasses on a hot day!!

In Hull if you weren’t going to a chippy you can park in St Stephens car park then walk across the road to a place called HOH (House of Hammond) where Hammonds used to be and they’ve turned it into a foody and shopping place. I had a burger and parmesan truffle fries from there the other day! Hull has massively come on with it being city of culture recently, another great shout is near the Marina a converted Fire Station that does tasty burgers etc…. That area has lots of great places to eat and Its walkable from The Deep too, the street is called Humber street and the place is called Thieving Harrys.

Happy to advise if you need anything more

AdamT, I grew up in leconfield….how fun is it trying to find mountain biking around that area? 🤣

That’s local’ish for me, Bridlington has 149 chippy and they were voted best chippy a few years ago, a few mins drive from the seafront too. Nearly always queueing out the door on weekends.

Don’t make the mistake of just getting some right by the sea as they’re usually crap I find, I can vouch for this one if you did decide to go to Brid https://m.facebook.com/149Fishandchips/

Okay I just used the Googlefu powers a bit more and found this, so hope it helps anyone else in future https://support.hydrapak.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002854233-Lubrication-for-your-Plug-N-Play-connect-system

I think it’s that yes, wasn’t sure if something as non-drinkable as silicone lube was a good idea with a water system? But I’ll look into it thank you

    Nobody else having this then?

Fair enough, it’s either my fault for wanting to drink something nice on a ride, or I shouldn’t remove the pipe connection from the bladder but I do it in an effort to keep it sanitised

I was keen to read this as I literally think the apple calendars are absolutely rubbish!

Open the calendar and when you have something in there you just see a dot!
Suppose the notifications area is how it’s utilised properly with “upcoming appointments”

Spent an hour last night mapping a route to ride today on the Garmin…… forgot the Garmin didn’t I !! Oh dear oh dear!!

Thanks for the offer, I’ll just get them to send the right size one as don’t want to mess about with shims as the old one didn’t need it.

It also turns out it WAS from CRC, but it doesn’t appear under my account, and never received an email about it. Bizarre… anyway I’ll have a friendly word with them tomorrow and get them to send the right one.

Thank you for the offer for the swap but I know CRC’s returns policy is usually spot on, I would say I struggle to understand how basics such as spelling/manufacturer sizing can be wrong but these things happen…somehow!

Also just realised it wasn’t from CRC, I thought it was… which will probably mean I’ll have a bigger issue getting it sorted!

Oh I will do, what was also ironic was when I went to rant about it on here and the site was down!

Not the first thing that’s gone wrong, such as the 5 pairs of trousers I had to buy to find the right ones, still waiting on the Dharco’s to be approved through NL customs before I get refunded with the £125!

Word to the wise, if you want something from abroad, be very prepared to not expect a quick turnaround if you need to return it!!

I don’t have any accurate way of measuring such as a vernier gauge, anyway you can imagine my frustration…. Take the time to get the bike out (which is a challenge with how secure they are) get my hopes up and it doesn’t fit, meaning got to do it all in reverse and put the old broken one back in!

That descent near the Forest road and the big ditch always made me laugh, came down it praying that catch berm right, at the bottom would stop you as there wasn’t alot of chance of slowing down on that descent!!

Sutton bank has a newly developed Bike-track created pumptrack too, which looks so good and still haven’t been!!

Yearsley the trails there are brilliant but most definitely will command some skill.
But yes forest road easy to follow around, you get fit in no time riding to the top from the bottom every time 😆 .

Used to work really nearby and leave work, hit the trails straight away. Those were the days!!

I also have what I can only describe as pain in my bicep if I lift my arm above my shoulders…. For example if I was to bend my arm and bring it back in line with my shoulders and then raise it, the pain is horrible!

I did via Ferrata, ninja warrior and possibly a bad gym session back in September and still got it. Doc suggested possible rotator cuff but not getting better so I’m having physio for it now, this week will be my first session after consultation! One thing he said was I was quite rounded in the shoulders which I’m working on, shrug shoulders up, push them backwards and then down…… you not done anything specific to cause it that you can think of? Work from home? Desk different height to when you were at work? Just a few thoughts

You’re right, we always put the bikes on the rack. Our bearings need changing more often than our friends with vans.

    It’s basic physics really

    Very impressed!

UPDATE: Verucca is just about gone and wanted to share how I’d managed it as they really are awful things!

So Johnny is right I’d say, I’ve just had live with it for over a year, until I decided enough was enough as it was hurting when biking and I knew at that point it had to go! So my method:

Salicylic dots you can buy, on the verucca and then cover with a plaster and I used Elastoplast fabric ones as they mould to the skin well and keep that on for two days with the plaster

Every once a week scrub off the excess with a stiff emery board, then used a penknife I bought which i kept sterilised to cut away the excess skin and on some days got digging all the white out. Then applied another dot and plaster. I went the whole course doing this each few days which I think is either 9 or 12 weeks and still had it but the dots were definitely killing it as the roots were able to be cut into without bleeding.

So at that point I just covered it with a plaster and kept that one plaster on for around 5 days to totally starve it, didn’t even take off to shower and I’d say after 3 weeks it’s now almost gone….I think!

Very true! We had one plumber come in and say we could have what we wanted and he’d need to raise the floor to get it. Needs to be enough of a downslope from the bath/shower to allow it to work.

I also at one point looked for a design app and in the end just decided to draw it to scale myself, drawings are crucial as fitters aren’t mindreaders and as we found out rather than asking sometimes will just do what they know will work, which usually isn’t what you want. Anyway lessons learned, always make sure everything is well known and understood!

Thanks an amp/bookshelf speakers are out of the question really as it’s for a kitchen.

The audiopro C5 looks great and after reading up in it it has wifi and Bluetooth as an option which could be ideal. Might have to get a demo of one from richer sounds to bring around the missus as last time she wasn’t too keen on the looks…. She’s a bass fiend though so if it sounds right could possibly be swayed!

Ahh now then, I’ve discovered wifi speakers. We’ve got a mesh network, I’d be happy to hear from anyone with a wifi speaker to see if they’d provide the functionality. Something like the AudioPro C3 or C5

Yes bloke it’s the £20 jobby, there’s only going to be one place for one rather than two but thank you. I can imagine it’s much better so will bear in mind

Just checked but the Sonos Roam looks way too small, I’m not looking for portable, needs to give impressive bass and overall really full sound.

    chrisyork

Interesting I’ll have a look at the roam thank you. I was very impressed with the sound from my brothers Sonos Play from about 5 years ago but it needed the app. Then he got the Bose equivalent and it’s not as impressive which was a big surprise!!

Yes Stumpy it’ll have one home, just in the kitchen. Ahh okay so with AudioPro do you need the app then to connect as that likely won’t suit. Just need to be able to choose the Bluetooth device and connect.

We have a small google smart speaker and it’s just not good quality at all so it’s that that I’m looking to improve.

That was like me when I bought the missus a new SLX cassette after having never replaced one. I nearly binned all the spacers thinking they were just plastic!! Then realised without the there was no gap between the cogs! 🤣

I just can’t believe how this has even happened, just so glad to see Russia being crippled by sanctions but equally sad that this will affect so many well meaning Russians and its only the minority that even wanted this.

Seeing the humanitarian side of it and the severe loss of life is tragic, also now I’m a home owner and have a career, I cannot imagine what it must be like to leave your life lived home not knowing if you’ll ever go back…. just hope this whole issue de-escalates soon.
Was very pleased to see that Anonymous were doing their bit…. but when will he be tried for these crimes? Nerve agent in UK, multiple assassination attempts on UK soil…just ridiculous.

Ours is a decathlon one, survived 40mph winds just off lindisfarne last time! We used to go often but haven’t for a bit now, she turned it into full on glamping which I’m not going to lie-is very comfortable!
    Inflatable air bed
    Fridge
    Induction hob
    Portable fan heater
Fairy lights (I can do without those 🤣)

Ahh yes just loaded it up on the iPad and can easily see classifieds now! On iPhone I needed to use the latest area to find it.

No drama’s sounds like there are definite changes afoot while keeping the site up!

    Found the classifieds!

The LATEST link but not the drop down, then classifieds in there. Could be solely related to the “charged” section but I don’t think it is

We’re very pleased with it now, I think overall it cost about £4K to do. But for example we don’t have a vanity unit just a small dresser that we had the plumber fit a sink into and plumb in with the pipes hidden so that saved a chunk of money.

Another useful tip : check all parts when they arrive! When we came to have the toilet fitted the company had sent the wrong toilet seat and it was out of its return time, so had to buy the right one.

Only expenses really were bath, shower, toilet (again 2nd toilet seat lid) tiles, sink, plumbing and tiler. Plumber came to about £2k I think and tiler was around £400. We did all the painting ourselves as well as all the finishing like mitreing and fitting the floor trims which aren’t in that pic.

I will say we were very surprised though… bought a shower tray, over £100 I think from Victoria plum and it was absolute garbage. Plastic and flexy! That one there is a stone resin one, which is the second as the first stone resin one was faulty… so each time that bottom row of tiles had to be removed!

The bath was a bargain as should’ve been over £1000 and we got it for £300 in the sale so definitely pays to shop around.

Will keep an eye on this thread too!

We’ve just recently done the same, having renovated our forever home.
So one bit of advice DON’T PAY UNTIL THEY’VE FINISHED! This may have been worse through lockdown but we learned the hard way, held off money to the plumber u til the job was done, but for example for the kitchen the wood worktop was fitted and we paid, he said he’d come back and seal it…..never came back, never picked up the phone or answered voicemails! Luckily not a big job but still annoying!

Also do not assume they’ll do what you think they will, we found out mainly as ours was a full layout change we had to literally tell them everything and give detailed plans so there was no way anything could be misunderstood!

The missus got me some fleecy type ones from Matalan of all places which i am blown away with tbh, main thing is unlike most trousers they’re decent leg length!
