A hairdryer? 🤣 my hair is not that long, however the Missus’ hair takes about 2 hours to dry…. So that could be a good option 🤣

Interesting about the pram wording, definitely sounds like you’re all right and we will be using it a while in that case. You can tell it’s the first one!

Tbh I don’t mind if there are opposing views at all and I have friends who don’t have any kids and it’s totally upto them and Im strong enough in my mind to know I’m happy with what we’re doing and everyone’s has their own views…

I think what I will say was wow I think we both underestimated the whole pregnancy thing and doesn’t feel like there’s alot out there with true experiences especially about the 1st trimester.
Happy to share our experience but everyone’s will be different. For nigh on 16 weeks she felt sick all the time, and I mean ALL the time, it then got to actually being sick when she felt really sick, for 2 weeks.
Was funny as she kept saying although I feel sick at least I’m not being sick, and was getting a bit smug… then started being sick!
Just wanted to help her but there was nothing I could do.
It also meant we had to be very aware where we were going, so if we were going shopping keeping something to be sick in nearby. Or knowing where toilets were at all times, She’s NHS so joked that the sick bowls they have look like upturned party hats so had to always make sure we had a party hat!

Just one of those things and I know some people we know have been stunned how ill she has felt as they never had that, but yes I’d say she definitely has been very strong for those 16 odd weeks.

Anyway we’re just past 20 weeks now and everything’s all good, makes me laugh as she was a tea OBSESSIVE and no longer likes tea at the moment and doesn’t like cake and part of the fun of bikerides is the halfway cake stop! 🤣

Plus side is for a while I was eating half her tea’s! Not going to complain at that!!

Just like today, we have turfed half the garden on our doer upper house, today started turning the soil for the second part. Previously we have found a brick foundation 3 bricks deep where the flowerbeds wanted to go and thought we’d seen the end of the madness.

Nope, I get digging and discover a yellow GAS plastic pipe (our village doesn’t and never has had Gas) 🤣 so anyway we’ve covered it up, then I found a tarmac platform around 6 inches below the surface….

This all took time to do and was just meant to be a quick soil turning job 🤣

    Great advice, thank you.
Well we’ve done exactly that, decided to try Vinted for some outfits for little un and I’m stunned at the quality of it and the cost too!
We were in mama’s and papa’s laughing at prams costing over £1000 and saw an elephant top for £25 and I even said to her that’s not bad, we got home and she’s now bought and had delivered the same item for about £3 and it really is like new.

So we now have a load of clothing, also a maxi-cosy Quinny 3 wheel pram with proper tyres for £75 off marketplace. Even said that we likely wouldn’t be using it much as baby will either be strapped to one of us or in the backpack we just got for free for full on Deuter baby one with stand, shade etc…
Has stunned me how nobody wants anything or hardly anything for things and of course when we’re done we’ll do the same and pass on those savings to someone else. Don’t get me wrong we have the money to buy everything new but there’s no point doing it…. Think we have around 10 outfits now that probably cost £30 for everything. Madness!

Just looking for the book that was recommended for dads now

Yep I have fox enduro’s that are probs 4 years old and in great condition, only issue is they’ve obviously shrunk in the wash and the back of the knee rubs, but of chamois cream behind the knee before a ride stops the chafing.
    It’s a ride ruiner!

Also the bigger thing here is I clearly need new pads! 🤣

Ouch is that who it was? We saw medics bringing someone down on a stretcher (I think) then into back of an ambulance. Can only think that must’ve been her.

The 4X was streamed on Facebook live from Fort William DH’s profile

We’re at Fort Bill but she’s pregnant and knackered after today so come back home, hoping to watch the 4X on the live stream but it’s not started yet…. Anyone there with signal or wifi able to advise if it’d started yet? Really don’t want to miss it if it’s streaming

Such a shame that blue doon could be so amazing but it isn’t, so much elevation to come down, could be like an alps track with big supportive berms and so many great features…. All we can hope is that they will redesign and create more now the foundations are there…

I can’t believe yours went overnight! I find all basils gel does is put a white film over the bastard, almost to protect it from the elements and keep the thing bloody growing.

EDIT: Still got the damn thing, did think it was close to going after I just covered it with a plaster and left it for around a week, but nope.

Someone mentioned gaffer tape, so I think I might buy some duct tape, it has to survive showers ideally!

Yes we’re going, can’t wait! Last time we went pre-covid I got a steel valley hoodie in 2017 and tshirt and both are still going strong to this day…amazing quality!
Looking forward to checking out the merch too and the food!!

It’s not bad underfoot at all if it’s dry, and the riding is brilliant, when we were there there was a huge gap jump, Will Easey was sending it, others not making it were blowing up wheels massively!!

Yes it’s a shame they are as even though it’s not been rated that highly there’s bits of the blue doon that look fun to ride! Can’t help but thinking closing the trails for that long is very excessive, it’s it’s standard for a WC and I just haven’t remembered

Wow some more great suggestions I’ll have a look at these too, the ones that say “ride up” did make me chuckle a bit, she’s not got the energy she had usually so riding UP anything is much much harder than before 🤣

Oh wow it’s all sounding great and thank you, like the sound of riding to see the viaduct and watch the train pass at Glenfinnan, then riding loch Shiel.

What a change! I’d usually be hunting out some cracking red routes!

Also going to stop at Comrie croft for a blast on the way back to Yorkshire as looks like fun.

Wondered if the weather turns wet is there anywhere more sheltered?

For example after fort bill if the weather is rough we may be best heading south to find better weather, there’s Glentress I can think of and still researching as we speak

Oh no, those bolts loosening and tightening has really triggered me 🤣 , I mean could they not have got any form of sponsorship either?

I’m not interested in that at all, doesn’t look like it’s been made by people that really know the industry if you ask me…

Ahh bugger sounds like the ending has mixed feeling, well I’m loving it so far….yes it gets a bit far fetched but it’s just entertainment. There’s some true tripe I won’t watch but this isn’t one of them and I’ll always try and drag it out to make sure I don’t finish it too quickly 👍

That’s okay I know that, to be honest once I’d arranged the return I just bought it from the ford place I saw at the same price.

Good thing is the second one does fit and is fitted! Pretty chuffed, can’t really believe the spelling mistakes even on the replacements box. The first one was definitely a 30.9 but branded wrongly on the post itself!

Ordered another but from wiggle, as I know easy returns. So let’s see!

Great words of advice, thank you and yes of course we have a very strong bond and will make sure we have the odd meal out with child looked after by Mum/Dad etc, I just bought an indoor cam so even if she is missing said child, can just open the app and see how the mum/dad are getting on if in the right room. Only one cam, it’s not a big brother set. If kid does enjoy cycling the plans are to get a van and go on adventures. Already looking at the 2nd hand Specialized balance bikes with proper tyres! The dream is the kid gets a Commencal, full face, pads and shreds!

When we were in Tignes we met a couple and kid on the trails, kid had fullface helmet, proper bike and was riding as hard as the parents 🤘

As you say though the love will just be there to support them in whatever they want to do and the macride/trailer will be getting bought!

We inherited a prefab garage from last owners and brought our asgard bike storage from the other house so now if they get in the garage which wouldn’t bd that hard, they’ll make an almighty noise tackling the Asgard.

Outside they do condensate in the winter, suggestion is likely insulation to try to avoid drastic changes in temp

Haha thanks, as you say I’m reading plenty of people saying it’s just different but they wouldn’t change it for the world and it’s the best thing that ever happened to them.

We’re both v settled anyway as I think that has to be important to have a solid foundation, was surprised to hear most of my friends say “she never really had morning sickness” whereas she’s literally spent most of the time upto now all the time feeling like that, maybe the fact she’s only 5’3 has something to do with it?

One thing that stunned us is the price of childcare but work are very good so sounds like we can save a chunk with me collecting kidder at 4 before the prices skyrocket!

Reading this with interest as I’ve just got some clips and was advised to get single release and it makes so much sense for MTB, if I unclipped off a jump or drop and wasn’t aware of this I’d just dump them straight away! Few rides with no phantom unclip as so far anyway 👍

I use Carnac bought from Planet-X, they’ve got a red film to them and actually are extremely good for biking as aren’t that dark. So although they block out the sun well enough, they’re not too dark. The suggestion of Bolle safety glasses is a good one too, we have some of those in the house and for clear ones they do the job nicely!

Good shout! I have had it out and even had it cleaned and regreased but thank you I reckon it’s likely it could be that. They’re DT Swiss with only a few pawls with not too much engagement so would explain. Will take another look thank you

Tinges is great, been there. Hey why don’t you check out the owlaps YouTube channel?

I only say this as he’s a French rider but also categorises his videos of alps trails by skill level, I’ve discovered that Le Saises looks great there too and for us not as far as Tignes would be again

Not all cars are great value, I bought an S-line A3 for £14k and WBAC value is 10,500 at the moment!

If I’d bought the sport (but couldn’t find a nice one in blue) it’d be worth £10k…. S-lines seem to be a moneypit! 🤣

Hmm is this the Vivoactive 4 you’re referring to?

Have to admit what you said, I’ve never used mine to navigate and didn’t think it’d be that good…. So you just upload a course to the Watch and then follow that route??

Totally agree, C3 was really good but bigger is usually louder. Also rather than the T, they were saying with the C’a because they’re not portable so don’t have any bluetooth chip etc the space is utilised more for the speaker and ancillaries inside

Just thought I’d update this so me and my female went into Richer Sounds the other week and they demo’d us the Denon and also the AudioPro C3 as they didn’t have any C5’s…

Both VERY impressed with the AudioPro and although the Denon was impressive it couldn’t match the C3, so came home and bought the C5 and extremely impressed with it!

Worth noting the T version is Bluetooth only and I think portable, whereas the C version has Bluetooth and wifi which is what I wanted and is mains powered just to clarify in case anyone else was looking.

Don’t delay, buy today they’re a hell of a speaker for the money and size, what’s impressed me most is the depth of the bass for the size of a 25cm wide box, a fancy looking box at that!

Brilliant Jordan, yes those hills are steep but If you do lots of hills before it and have a good level of fitness then it’ll be great. Not sure I’ll be able to do this year but it was bone dry and fantastic fun!

I’ve literally bought an XL volt in the past as that’s all I could find and it was ridiculous 🤣 , I love them though and now have a M one which is much more suitable now it’s not whacking me on every drop!

I did my first race a few years ago doing the Boltby Bash and honestly it’s fantastic!

No need to be nervous just take sustainance you’ll need, I think we did 6 stages and at no point did I run out of anything but I did take a backpack so had plenty of room.

Main thing is be there in good time to attend to any pre-race tweaks and so you can be well organised for it, I was racing with my brother who hadn’t done any training so needed lots of rests (I did try to say training helps) so We ended up being last on track and getting caught by the sweeper on the last run…. The last few sections were so blown out it was just an off the brakes and hang on situation but the whole event was so good especially when you see the photos afterwards and in some cases didn’t even know a snapper was there!

I did Silton Forest DH a few years ago and that was good fun for about 3 mins of descent, only issue is the hill is so steep to get back upto the top so either need to be really fit or an E-biker.

Does sound like you probably need to move to Scotland or Wales though

If it’s solely the badge you think that’s goading then, remove it from the back.

My S-line has just the A3 badge at the back and the S-line badge on the side and have never had any problems but yes the whole you been on cruise Control on a long journey and some cars clearly not can be frustrating too but you just drive your own way, they’ll disappear/pull off at one point!
