Happy new bike day op . I find myself in a similar situation but not long Covid,I’ve rode mtbs for the best part of 20 years until March of this year when I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis which has affected my hands wrist’s and shoulders it’s been utterly life changing. Now the positive bit luckily I’ve got an early diagnosis and the meds seem to working and I’m contemplating trying to ride again albeit getting an E bike.I’ve never ridden an Ebike of any kind and I’m hoping when I can get my hands on one I’ll be able to enjoy a pedal in the woods again as it’s not just the peddling but the mental well being of being out in nature that I really miss.

I run a 26×4 fbf 120 tpi on a Hugo 52 on my full suspension fatty works fine but wouldn’t want to run really low pressure as I think it might squirm a bit I run around 12 psi and a bluto fork so rigid might be a different kettle of fish

Hi do lots of wheel alignment in my role at work BMW body shop we use BMW kds systems but basically hunter machine your garage needs to obviously make sure there using the correct model suspension data and also make sure the enter correct ride heights measured from the centre of the hub to the wheel arch on vw based vehicles as I unless I’ve missed them I can’t see any castor figures which I believe is a very important measurement for stability and also if the suspension has been altered ie tracking changed if the vehicle has ADAS it also should be re calibrated. My experience with what your experiencing I would be looking at the rear toe and also the thrust axle which needs to be around zero hopefully with the right data they can improve its handling

Hi just built a set of b+ wheels up and I have ranger light high grip 3 inch front and rear. I’ve used them a few times and they do feel quick on the surfaces I mainly ride which is a mixture of sandy stuff and tarmac with canal towpath to link it up. I see most of you say the ranger is a no no on the front is that just in muddy conditions? I have my full fat wheels to drop back in for winter but got a trip to degla next week and was intending to run the skinny set up and my full face by the looks of it😁😁

Op get a fat bike then people will like you and ask about your girth while your blowing out your Harris trying to climb a hill whilst them nasty ebikers ride past saying that looks like hard work. The things I do just to get attention from someone 😭😭

I was up a coed y brenin last Sunday and had a group of I think enduro motorcycles follow me down the steep rocky bit down to the bridge., they were courteous enough not to try and get round me till the bottom and then shot off up the hill. I have seen these guys on motorbikes at nant y arian a few times bur never at coed y brenin on the mtb trails

We have a sproodle his mom is an English springer and dad toy poodle he is a very well natured dog loves to run but just as happy trotting along sniffing every blade of grass. We didn’t set out to get an expensive mongrel but I am so glad we did he came from a lady who owned both mom and dad which we met and just for stw she ran a St Bernard rescue and had a goat 😁😁

Feel your pain op we have been trying to deal with nightmare neighbours for nearly 3 years now council involvement and police been out numerous times there a young couple around 20s who have massive violent arguments all times of day and night lots of drug and alcohol abuse and low level dealing. They also keep 3 staff type dogs cooped up in there which I don’t think ever see a blade of grass. The one thing I will tell you is if you go down the council ASB route its torture as we have recorded every problem but due too the nature of it being private housing the lads mom owns the house but buggered off with a new fella the council cannot evict the only thing they can do is give out community protection warnings and final notice or asbo as they used to be called but it takes lots of evidence to enable this through independent witnesses ect. My advice is unless you love your house move on as if you try to fight like us you will end up trapped I am at the point where I have no faith in the law to help us out of this nightmare so it will carry on till they will probably kill each other then maybe the authorities will wake up. Its a very soul destroying situation of which no family or person should have to live with good luck OP you have my deepest sympathy

I’ve got an Ican Chinese full suss fatty I use it all year round and for everything, I love it and wouldn’t want to go back skinny again. The one thing I would like to try is a skinnier rim  I run 4 inch tyres on 80 mm halo rims which have been great just curious as to how skinny I could go maybe a trials rim. I don’t ride beaches very often it’s mainly xc and trail centre stuff every now and then so a bit lighter rim tyre combo might be interesting. I think fat bikes have died off a bit but still great fun

Mine went back today size 8 but much smaller than my other trainers due to all the padding I think spoke to go outdoors and there sold out so I got refunded, shame as they seemed well made and a bargain will probably wait to see if they have another run and go 1/2 size up

V8 it’s devastating my only hope is they move out but can’t see that happening I have lived next to this family and watched it implode due to drug and alcohol misuse and its bizzare as when he was a boy he was fine then he got into drugs and its turned him into a monster no just a dick it’s like he has been taken over and his girlfriend friend is heavy user and could really do with help as after conversations with the police she thinks domestic violence is the norm

This is my experience of a regular cannabis user I have 21 year old lad and his girlfriend living next door to me we are in old terraced houses which are very close to each other, they are regular drug users and our house and garden regularly stink of drugs but that’s not the worst of it on bad days when there very much high they have blazing violent arguments which leave my daughter in tears police have been out many times but do very little but tell them to shut up and the council say there’s nothing they can do as it’s a private dwelling as its the lads mother’s house who has moved out to a rented house as she can’t deal with it and refuses to help. I was quite relaxed about drug use before this but the effect its had on us is devastating and we can’t even sell up as who in there right mind would buy our house maybe we need to look past the rights of the drug users and see the effects it has on the people who have to live with fall out

Ive got the sevylor Wabash from decathlon it’s fine for pottering around on lake’s and I’ve used it on the sea just paddling around a calm bay it’s seems well made and has decent Boston valve’s .As a fair weather paddler it’s fine suppose it depends on how you intend to use it the only pain is drying for this I just leave it spread out in the garden or in the shed if it’s raining and use an old towel to remove the puddle’s inside the boat

Hi question for the op or anyone else who have gone down the Chinese frame route how hard is it to deal with say carbon speed for instance and what are there delivery times like quality , custom’s charges .I have been looking at the cs197 frame and the sonder Vir Fortis frame which seem to be a Chinese made frame although I could be wrong to swap the parts over from my current fatty cheer’s

I looked at the decathlon kayaks and sevylor Wabash and in the end went for the sevylor but to be honest don’t think there’s much difference used the sevylor a couple of times on a local boating lake it seems ok. Paddling with two was faster but I moved the seat to the middle and had an hour on my own and it performed better than I thought it would so pretty happy with it.

I am exactly the same as the op daughter not into bikes but likes a paddle every now and then . I did a lot of looking around and to be honest if you’re going to use it a lot go for the better more expensive ones I know that we will only use it occasionally so I went for the sevylor Wabash from decathlon it’s the same as the more expensive maddison and it does everything we want and easy to blow up and let down , drying can be a pain but I can live with it and if my daughter’s intrest grows then I would consider a better one.

Just a heads up as such I’ve used on one floaters good in gloop and I’ve run jumbo Jim 4 inch great summer hard pack tyre but i have just managed to pick up a set of bombaloni 4 inch set them up ghetto tubeless and rode them three times now on different trails and conditions and they have performed very well .They roll fast and have good cornering grip so may be a decent mid price option

SlimJim you need to Google slam 69 bike shop in Gloucester for the smokestone bike they specialise in all things fat and are now making there own bikes . I looked at the tusker aswell its a nice bike but non where available when I wanted one infact it seemed all the bikes I liked where out of stock and the felt came up first and to be fare I love the thing

SlimJim have a look at slam 69 s New bike its a 170 mm back end so may have closer together seat stays its called a smokestone Henderson you can get loads of advice on the UK fatbike groups on Facebook if you use it just make a join request .I ride a felt double 70 which is s 197mm back end and the stays are quite slim so maybe an option.

I got my basic felt double 70 fatty back in March and have pretty much rode nothing else its great for most of my riding and I am begging to think that maybe with a set of blutos on I could lose my other bike’s.As has already been said they are good fun you get lots of comments but for me I was getting pretty jaded with all the mega bucks enduro bikes and the latest must haves to the point where I was begging to lose interest in mtb since getting mine I have got my buzz back and the Facebook fat bike groups are welcoming and great source of information if you need advice

Hi mate ive got a double 70 its a great bike I did swap the brakes to deores and swapped out the big ring for a bash guard .I am not sure of the weight but its not massively heavy I don’t worry about it to be honest it seems to pedal better than you think it would my normal hardtail is now redundant ,it might be worth joining UK fatbikes on Facebook if you have it loads of info on all things fat on there
