Whilst I have no problem with Strava etc I do hope it doesnt turn in trail centres in to race tracks with riders barging past slower riders trying to find a couple of seconds.

Orange 5 that’s why I bought it. I do like the look of the sb66 in carbon though and the stumpy evo

Make sure legally it’s a car and not a van. Friends have been done for speeding because they were obeying the car speed limit but because their VW t5 was technically a van and not a car they were speeding for a van and got done. Worth thinking about if you travel the motorways a lot

Mclaren will be no where as Button has got what it takes to be a winner unless given a massively superior car. Given that’s unlikely he will be a consistent point scorer with the odd podium and maybe a win if he’s lucky. It will be interesting to see how Lewis gets on in a non mclaren team.

We are designed to eat meat and veg so I presume nature did that for a good reason. Seems a shame to go against evolution to me.

My concern with Daves proposal is that returning powers to the UK reduces the amount of democracy that we have.

The problem is we dont have a democracy.

We only get to vote for one of the 2 chambers that make up Parliament
We dont get to vote for who is Prime Minister. That is decided by their pary, not the electorate who only get to vote for a local MP
We dont get to vote for our head of state.

Hardly a model of democracy is it?

    2 is enough

I have a specailized road bike for riding on the road and an orange five for riding off road. I used to have more MTB’s but found I spent too much time deciding if I had taken the right one on the ride rather just enjoying the ride. So now its easy tarmac = spesh off road = orange

I hope 1×11 we become affordable. But the interview with SRAM on the Radar site suggests that they wont trickle it down as they can sell all they make of XX1 and dont want to undercut their own margins by launching a more affordable version of it for normal wallets

I reckon a cassette, chain and chainrings lasts about 1 year and then they all need replacing at the same time. I only have 1 bike so it is ridden every week

    A few observations.

Great that wiggo and Braisford won.

Why did Coe get an award? The last person who actually did any work on the Olympics was him. Im sure there were lots of people at LOCOG who worked really hard, but Im sure he wasnt one of them.

Why did we have to suffer the heir and the spare machine giving out the prizes? If they wanted a Royal then what was wrong with Princess Anne or Zara who have been Olympians rather that this waste of space.

I would want to try and work out what it will do the BB height as raising the front end will raise the BB too which will affect stability. Whether its enough to matter for you to decide.

Do you have any idea how many people are killed each year, by a car driver, because they were speeding?
Yes none. Speed has never killed a single person in the history of time. What kills people is too rapid a rate of deceleration. The human body reguarly travels faster than the speed of sound with no ill effects.
Not sure if you have done it deliberately, but you have misunderstood the question you commented on.

    To word it another way.

How many people (cyclists/pedestrians/horse riders/other motorists) every year are killed by Car Drivers that are speeding ?

If by that do you mean how many cars were involved in accidents then lots. Where speed was a factor relatively few. According to the governments own research only 5% of accidents and 12% of fatal accidents had speed as 1 of the factors. They didn’t publish a figure for the proportion of these where speed was the main factor. Source: Department for Transport, contributory factors to road accidents, 2006.

So in reality speed is not a major factor in the cause of accidents.

What causes traffic accidents is 2 objects occupying the same space at the same time. There are lots of reasons why that happens, usually around misjudgement by one, some or all of the people involved.

Its just a PR stunt by Starbucks to try and restore the recent loss of business. Nothing more, nothing less.

Also there is no point in ranting at HMRC as they dont make the rules. The rules are made by the government so the chancellor needs to get off his ar$e and sort out the tax code. He wont because he’s not that bothered about closing the loopholes or making it simple, too much money to be made for City types from an overly complex tax code.

Ferrari were penalised just because a little seal broke on Massa’s gearbox the other week, even though it probably just caught on something and they never even needed to do any work on it.

Ferrari werent penalised. Massa was penalised by Ferrari for out qualifying Alonso.

We put some 140 forks in one to make it a bit more friendly for the Alps this year. Worked fine. My LBS told me that the frame is acutally warrantied to a 140 fork.

My GF’s trek had an slx front mech that was so stiff she got a sore thumb shifting it. Took it back to the LBS we got it from and it was replaced under warranty as faulty it was so stiff.

“Jeremy Vine, well he’s just a professional sh!t stirrer isn’t he”

    eh?
He’s a professional journalist/presenter/etc so its his job to ask alternate arguments for the interviewee to counter argue, so to make a discussion of the subject? ie the point of the programme?

As the original poster said, professional sh!t stirrer. I havent heard that much drivel in ages. The guy spent the whole time trying to convince everyone that cycling was terrifying.

Personally I wouldnt make a complaint as I wouldnt want to be driving the most picked on car in the county for the next several months as every possible excuse to pull you over is used repeatedly.

About 720. Got some nukeproof warheads and ran them full width. After a few rides I noticed my hands wandered in a bit on the gips so I trimed them down to where my hands seemed to naturally want to hold

I got made redundant on 24hrs notice once and once over the initial shock loved it. It took me 6 months to find another suitable job. I had insured my mortgage so they paid me 125% of the monthly mortgage payments so with the extra from that and my job seekers allowance I could get by. It helped that it was in the summer but I enjoyed the time to do things that I hadnt had the time for. I spent half the week looking for work and half the week enjoying the time. I rode in alsorts of places, kayaked alot, got alsorts of things done that I had wanted to. It wasnt so much fun in the winter and was glad when I got another job as I knew my position wasnt sustainable.

Slightly off topic but I am the only one who finds it a reflection of government priorities that it sends me a reminder to pay my car tax for free, but wont send me a reminder to have the road worthiness of my car checked without charging me a fee.

I notice how the government has pledged to close the loophole rather than actually doing so. I presume it means too many of their mates are using it.

Yes i consolidated this year and now just have and Orange 5. I do have some 160 forks for it aswell as the standard 140s for alpine duties if that doesnt count as cheating ;-)

i think Millar realises his own cheating/doping was part of the doping/cheating problem too

He still races though! Think about the message:

Lie and cheat to make money. If you get caught, a two year slap on the wrist. Apologise profusely, write an autobiography about how wrong you were (making loads of cash), come back a hero and get to ride on your countries Olympic team!

Basically cheating pays and handsomely, if you’re DM.

Hardly an advert for clean riding is it?

Seems to have worked for Contador so far.
