Time to clear out all the stuff I’ve been waiting on an 80% off listing for.

As others have said last time we went to Afan we stayed at the campsite at the trailhead. It all felt very run down and a shadow of its former self. I suspect they are victims of a lack of maintenance let alone new investment in the trail network which was their market.

Turned it on with low expectations and found it really entertaining and funny in places. Will definitely watch the next episode. It did help that sweeten looks stunning and has a good attitude to life.

I think the big takeaway is it’s hard to organise an event and protect yourself legally which probably explains why events are in decline and/ or more expensive to participate in. A sorry state but where we are

Still struggling to understand the issue. Artist wants to make as much money as possible, manager does a deal with Ticketmaster who also want to make lots of money. People still queue electronically to be pay the prices quoted and tickets sell out in minutes. Next tour everyone goes ummm we can charge even more this time.

I think you would need liability insurance at the very least. If it looks like an event and smells like an event…….

Also how would you fund the legal action of someone testing the waiver or making a liability claim against you.

I do think they need to focus on smaller lighter cars. The 2026 regulations are only a very small step in the right direction.

Has anyone got a recommendation for grease guns that attach to the nipple on a Santa Cruz link?

Sadly the use of slebs to encourage the general public to dig deep into their pockets, is the only way that some public will donate.

Strange but true. Personally I run the other way or turn it off at the mention of celebs as I assume there is something in it for them.

on another note the air ambulance service do receive substantial donations from the NHS ever year

And how you nearly killed them on the road for thinking about buying a fast car

Not to mention the eco warriors who will accuse you of single handily killing the planet:-)

It’s hardly begging, it’s raising money for charity

How is that not one and the same?

Hope he makes a pile of cash for charity.

Im sure it will. I just don’t need to get wrapped in the sensationalism surrounding it. I’m sure he has been training for it all summer. It’s not like he is going to turn up on day one and go what’s this about.

Would have assumed it was a normal level of professionalism for a pilot hired to fly a private jet to use the facilities at the airport beforehand rather than crimp off a length in the customer’s toilet.

I guess that depends on the length of the flight. A quick hop round Europe is a bit different to the flight to Singapore or Australia. Perhaps Lewis could order a staff loo in his next plane

Sounds like a nice pr stunt. I’m sure with many support vehicles and crew it won’t be that hard.

Im sure there will be lots of stories about how he suffered and the ordeal of it to make telly clips.

I would happily drive as BSM is easy and work on the assumption that if the coaches full of package tour people like me can get up then so could you. If your staying at 1600 and don’t have too much stuff you could always park in BSM and take the funicular up.

We are going to Canezi in early march with outer usual group of about 50 people so it’s booked a year in advance to get us all in the same hotel. We might see if we can get a cheeky last minute for new year just the 2 of us depending on the prices and snow. We’ve done it before and got good deals booking a week before travel.

I agree. I would still want bumpers if I was lando. Verstappen causing an incident leaving him out of the point even if it results in no points for max would be a win for him.

I’m intrigued by the timing. No prosecutions are possible. His estate will have been distributed as per his will so there is no money to be gained by the late accusations.  I’m not sure what the Met are supposed too do. He was clearly protected but then he was friends with the royal family and they seem to have a dubious list of friends, Saville, Epstein any number of Middle Eastern royal families and their links to terrorism.

It doesn’t help the police if no one approaches them at the time with their accusations. He will have been well protected by the establishment and royal family  seem to like protecting dodgy evil people.

A continental series needs somebody to drive it, like World Cups have UCI and national series have BC or their own version.

Im sure you’re right and one of the many challenges having feeder series into the main show. If the continental series gain uci status then BC a would be compelled to fall in line as it would be a governing body sanction series. It’s a big if I accept

In every race this season? Thibault Daprela, Kirk McDowell, Stefano Introzzi, Loris Revelli and Douglas Viera have all had one or more top 30 finals finish.

All of those riders are on teams with the exception of Daprela who got sacked by Canyon and hasn’t had another team want him since

kirk is on the norco team according to norco website

stefsno rides for Ridewill Bike Center Cimone team

loris was in canyon collective in 2023

So no individual rider entries or have I missed that?

When did an individual rider with no team affiliations, whether factory team or non factory team, last feature in the top 30 in DH men’s or Ladies?

what are the real world probability of an individual not being on a team who is good enough to stand a credible chance of making the final for a whole series. Don’t forget you could have a team of 1 or 2 riders as per ineos

Great drive by Oscar. Who knows what sainz and Perez were thinking. To crash in a straight line is more than a little careless from both of them.

What’s the benefit supposed to be?

Sell more bikes. The peadable dh bikes that some of the riders are using won’t be bought by many. A boat full of 150 ish travel bikes with good geo will sell well. The purpose of racing is to sell more bikes

I don’t see where the emphasis on a small number of teams comes from. The proposal is for 40 of them with between 3 and 10 riders plus the other ways to enter sounds like a lot of riders being able to compete.

The continental series are the critical part the plan to give privateers a route into the elite and get places on the world teams in a relatively affordable series, especially if the world cups go more global

Who are they protesting at whilst there? I’m sure none of the staff are keen on loosing their jobs and I doubt any decision makers will be within 100 miles of the site. I agree with their sentiment. I just don’t see how this will help

We have one. The thing you have to be careful with is that if a house is I. The trust and then sold at some point in the future you might be subject to capital gains tax on it. Something to have checked by whoever sets it up for you. You also need to check if the 7 year gift rule applies if they put assets into a trust. It’s something that was looked at to try and stop inheritance tax avoidance

It will be interesting to see who Stroll gets as his new team leader and more to the point if newey comes up with a car the team leader can win in and stroll can’t

From a tatical perspective this could work well. Top driver wins the WDC so all the pr and publicity the sponsors want. A poor second driver means you’re not at the pointy end of the WCC so don’t get budget cfd or aero time deducted. It might be a nice sweet spot to sit in

With so many parties being highlighted as at fault I do wonder if it makes any prosecutions more difficult as the defence will be be its everyone else highlighted in the report not us.

Guilty. We just got back from a 2 week road trip on the French side of the Pyrenees. We preferred Les angles to le lioran but just personal preference. Lioran has 1 blue, 1 red and 1 black and the black was too much for us. The enduro trails off the other life are very steep, as in golfie on steroids. Bagneres du lunching was our favourite. So many unmarked trails in the woods to try and hope didn’t get too much for us.

Superbesse bike park for a day and Les angles bike parks are fine for a day at each and are an hour or so from clement ferrand. Assuming this is your kind of riding. We rode there last week on  trail bikes
