RB cheating again. If there was no benefit they wouldn’t have made it and saved the weight.

All sounds perfectly reasonable to me 20 teams in gravity with no limit on the number of riders they can have. Then the 15 invitation team. That’s still alot of riders to have at the races.

I agree the Continental series will be critical for those going to make the jumper to world level and being continental based should make them cheaper for riders to afford to do the whole series something that’s hard to do now even if you live in Europe

I’m not sure why as a married couple you would want to live in separate apartments. I can understand e act having a study or room to escape to but not separate homes. I do wonder if this was an excuse to build 4 flats that can be split and sold off separately.

The designer seemed to have done a lot of pretty drawings of the house. Perhaps less of them and some decent drawings of the roof may have been better value

    Keep an eye on here

It’s where i buy phones. They come with a new battery and casing and full warranty. You’d never know they weren’t new

    https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/refurbished/ipad

And you get a 2 year warranty rather than a 1 year one. This is because the online store is technically in Ireland, probably for tax purposes, but it therefore makes it an eu sales which is required to have a 2 year warranty. I have benefited from this on an iMac that had a dodgy hard drive

What I would say is that you could have a pretty decent MTB holiday in Les Arcs without guides,

Im not sure that’s possible in September as the lifts close.

That’s true enough but realistically can he better the likes of Pogacar, Evenpoel, Roglic and Vingegaard? Unless he can manage that he’s going to be an also-ran, surely?

He doesn’t even stand a chance of beating them unless he focuses 100% on being a grand tour gc rider.

Varifocal glasses for day to day. Distance only contact lenses for riding. I accept that reading the gps is a bit blurry but I know most of the routes anyway in the peaks.  I would rather prioritise seeng the trial well.

Yep, he was actually quite good with his commentary as well I thought.

I thought there was a rule that said all commentators are rubbish and shouldnt be there unless they are called Rob Warner :-)

if you’re one of those folk who still think anything over 30lbs is “heavy”.

That’s because it is unless you are part of the jurno club to help lazy engineers from avoiding doing their job. Sure geo is more important but why not have good geo and light?

    And lost his Monster sponsorship…

which is why he will never win the event. The judges aren’t going to let a rider sponsored by the opposition especially they want the gig next year

Delinks riding style produces the images the sponsors want to use for promotion which is what the whole event is about. It stopped being a free ride event years ago

large number of these builds are be architects or “builder” who get lots of free advertising by dint of its being their build.

The programme is no advert for architects. Most episodes seem to involve the architect making some major blunder that can’t be built out doesn’t work for one reason or another

This weeks was one of the best episodes in a long time. That lad worked so hard and they created an amazing home for themselves. She had such a positive outlook on life.  I wish them well

Didn’t bother. I’m not interested in slopestyle and spinny flippy tricks. I can admire the skills needed to do them but that’s as far as it goes

Without water, you can’t build, because everything is soft loose dirt. That gave the early days a raw feel, as did the fact it was only the riders digging

But it’s supposed to be free ride and natural terrain. That was the whole point. Now it’s build teams gallons of water to make a smooth slopestyle course out of the mountain. I would rather they rode natural lines without the big jumps and tricks and focused on line choice

Broke mine earlier this year. The consultant was loathed to operate unless really necessary because the main nerves that control your arm are next to that bone. Mine healed exactly as they said it would with just a sling and pain killers for the first few days. Note I’m just working on getting the strength and mobility back fully

I think it’s called progression. You can’t land a 70′ canyon onto a completely random surface, you can’t take off on something that isn’t correct either.

Im sure that’s what they call it but it’s not really. If they need to build take offs and landings then it’s not about progressing riding natural lines it’s about making a spectacle called slopestyle.  I completely agree you probably can’t jump a 70’ canyon without ramps and landings. But imho your not riding freeride so not progressing that discipline

@stwhannah. Can we have the same level of effort and content for the edr series next year please.

I thought the whole point of rampage was free ride on natural terrain. Now they need a week to build a slopestyle course with more sandbags than they have in Florida

In light of recent events I think Lando only has 4 races left to take the title. I can easily see Qatar and UAE being cancelled.

No chance. Too much money involved. Anyway despite Qatar hosting hamas they are coming to see the king so they must be decent folk

Good coverage. Can STW do the same for the enduro racing too please next season.

But then, just a few days ago

Jess Blewitt Broke T1 Transverse Process & T12 Vertebrae in Semi-Finals Crash – Mont-Sainte-Anne DH World Cup 2024

Completely agree. I would suggest wcdh is far safer and less risky than rampage.

The big show you see on tv is kinda the byproduct of it al

I disagree. The product is the show. That’s what makes it commercially viable. Without the tv and broadcast line it wouldn’t happen

I don’t like this event. It just seems the levels of risk are so high, just to provide entertainment. I fully accept that riders want to do it and I wouldnt stop them.  I just hope everyone rides away and no one has a career ending or life changing accident.

At least is a Rockshox. My wife is in the vey light camp to the point when she can’t get full travel out of a fox fork with 20psi in it. We can just get a lyric to work but she isn’t the most sensitive to settings so everything fully open is ok for her.

I would just ignore them. They won’t have any authority or power to actually do anything. As it will be a civil matter the police can’t get involved

The reality is noting is going to change for another month. The problem is that the Jewish vote is quite influential in a number of swing states that could determine the outcome of the US presidential election. As a result no politician is going to do anything that may encourage voters to move away from them. It’s simply not going to happen as the priority is to win the election. Israel knows this and is using this time to do as it wants knowing the USA is impotent until the polls close and the result known.

I’m going. To predict lots of huge manicured jumps. Lots of spinny flippy tricks and the pb crowd will say everyone but the winner was robbed.

Yr Wyddfa has an uplift too, maybe spruce up the Rhyd du path or something down the rangers for future world cups?

I would love to watch the pitch to the national park authority when that’s presented. Don’t forget it couldn’t start til 6pm or be finished by 9am. Night race :-)

use a 2mm drill bit or Dremel to drill the crap out dentist style.

Blimey you’re brave. I use a pick and some water  to soften the debris

Where would the teams stay ? Where would the public stay ? Where would they shop/eat ? Glencoe is desolate in terms of having 5000 people rocking up to watch a race in a car park only 10% of them will fit in.

Completely agree. The only alternative in the Uk could be dyfi if the PY were interested and if they could sort out a good enough uplift for the number of riders and have it quick enough for them to make the most of practice time. I’m sure there is a huge amount of work to put a wc race on that most won’t want to do.

As said gps has been around for ages so the team would know they had stopped and if they had gone any distance of the road.  Presumably they would also see the rapid deceleration associated with a crash. They all have live telemetry to the riders bike computers. If they can tell me what bruini’s heart rate is mid race run this shouldn’t be hard

There are things like Specialized offer on helmets that claims to work for crash detection both on and off road. Never used one do don’t know if they are any good

Good racing but the highlights package for the men was dreadful.

should have watch the race on catchup. It was an excellent race full of drama and some amazing rides. Well worth the £7 it cost

How are those with mobility issues going to benefit from this? Looking at the picture they are going to have to cross a substantially rougher surface and then manage the step and gate before they even get to the tarmac.  Presumably the tarmac doesn’t carry on to the next road so they either have to manage with a rougher surface to do a loop or be faced with the step and rougher surface they negotiated to access the tarmac

I feel sorry for her situation.  I do struggle with the idea that asking a child a question in class is singling them out.  If they were always the child asked then yes, but if she is being asked in a similar frequency to all the kids then I don’t see how she is being singled out.

Its a blessing. Who wants to watch an interview with Boris thinly dressed up as an ad for a book. Ive never understood who buys these books that justify the advances they get. Someone must or the publishers wouldn’t do it

Sorry to sound negative but quit whilst you are ahead.

Those who want to not use their cars already will and the rest wont be that bothered. Why would I want to spend longer commuting than I had to, I would also include shower / changing time in that ie door to desk?  It my personal time that is being used, if work want me to spend longer getting to work that I need to that’s fine if they want to pay or incentivise me to do it. I have commuted by bike and its much nicer sat in the car

I hope it’s on its way so I can estimate how long it will be before the affordable version is released. I have bike with go and xo1 and I’m not keen. I’m not sure they have clutches in their mechs and I hate the big gap between the 52t and the next one. It’s far too big. My cable ocd wants less cables on my bike especially when so many manufacturers seem to not understand hose routing for those who have the rear brake on the lefr
