I have the same wheels. (And in fact, the same forks.)

Need a pair of pliers to pull them off, but when you put the new ones on, give them a good old grease.

Also, you will notice with the 15mm adaptors, one is slightly wider than the other. This goes on the disc side. You should also have a metal tube which you slide down inside the 20mm tube. Grease this as well.

When everything is greased it should all slide together nice and easy, give it a squeeze to make sure the adaptors are seated properly and whack it in.

I had my Gmail and Hotmail hacked as per previous thread. All my passwords WERE the same.

I haven’t heard of anyone else with these problems recently other than this forum, so I am inclined to think it may be STW somehow.

Any mods or forum admin know anything?

    Mountain biking
    Whitewater kayaking
    Power kiting
Climbing (not very good at it)
Acoustic and electric guitar (not very good)

I seem to occasionally switch between mainly focussing on mountain biking or kayaking. Haven’t been kayaking in months at the moment.

I was also hacked. My Gmail too, from somewhere in Egypt apparently.

Just change the passwords and make sure your anti-malware program is up to date.

I have done exactly the same. But I end up doing it quite a lot. Never happens when with my girlfriend.

The problem isn’t that I don’t need much sleep, its that I naturally seem to sleep better during the day. A lot of people say just sleep when you are tired and wake up the same time every day and it will even out. Tried this, but my sleep time just gets later and later till after about 3 days I am going to sleep 2 hours before alarm and subsequently sleep through it till the afternoon. By this stage it makes more sense to just stay awake and reset body clock by going to bed at a reasonable time the next night (adding an hour ish to compensate for the lack of previous sleep).

I have no problems falling asleep when I am tired, and its always good sleep, so not insomnia.

I guess its caused by a lack of routine (student).

I know this isn’t much help, just thought I’d share so you know you’re not alone!

Is the first one a place called Black river? Or Black something? Looks familiar, but not been there for years.

Not sure about weights, but the Hollow Tech design of the SLX and XT does add a fair bit of stiffness to the cranks over the Deore.

Nah, the Bury one is really horrible. Mass produced crap.

The Morrisons own stuff is pretty good! And believe it or not Lidl/Aldi is pretty good too.

But the butchers is definitely the place to go.

    Border terriers are cool!

I don’t like small dog’s generally. But I have seen a few border terriers with nice temperaments.

None so far! Except in my teenage years when using people as slalom objects was good fun.

But no proper complaints as of yet. I almost feel like I’m missing out on a part of the lifestyle! :P

Their sales don’t include all the items tho.

Its just the slightly older stock. They must be in the position that they have a constant slow supply of old stock as new stock is added.

    Psychologists

Just people who write massive papers and come up with fancy names for stuff we knew already. Then their explanations for why this isn’t the case… Don’t get me started.

‘Born again’ Christians are another group! I don’t care how good ‘God’ makes you feel. I don’t give a toss.

And as already mentioned, those people who have subscribed to ‘self help’ courses.

How long they take to deliver from DX?

Totally agree with you. Just thought I’d be a bit pedantic and point out an exception :)

A good way of explaining the effect shorter cranks have; is that they allow a greater transfer of torque due to the smaller circular path the pedal takes. This has the effect of ‘down-gearing’ the bike.

Pedalling power is about the least important aspect of DH racing

Tell that to the guys who just raced at Petermaritzburg :)

Some watered down washing up liquid or soap is the best way.

Seat most of the tyre then lube up the bead and sidewall of the rim (so the tyre can slide over it).

Lever one end in with a tyre lever then hold it where it is (with the tyre lever), get another one and lever from the other side of the section that remains to be seated.

Tends to get a bit looser over time

My Salsa one is pretty good.

You sure you have the right seatpost size? I have seen someone with similar symptoms. Only reason was a slightly too small seatpost.

For the hassle involved with a coke can, I’d just buy a new seatpost.

Doesn’t look like they make that size shim, probably because its such a small difference.

The track has some pretty pedally sections by the looks of things so that’s where the time will be gained. Reckon Gee has a good chance.

Where is the best place to watch the race?

    Most frames are 135mm spaced.

So you either need a frame specced with 142mm wide dropouts. Or some frames have interchangeable dropouts that vary in thickness to accomodate the extra width.

The freehub will be the same width. It just allows for less dishing in the wheel.

I wouldnt bother going to a firm for it.

Because you are only drilling out a tiny amount of metal from the outside of the hole it is very easy to do. And the kits from eBay (see above) are only £8

The riskiest bit is the tapping, but you really would have to be a mong to mess it up, just keep it straight ish and screw it down 2 turns then back 1 till it stops. Keep it lubed with a bit of chain lube or something.

As for the alcohol thing. I don’t drink. My bike is a much better place to spend the money and I never wake up feeling crap. Alcohol just doesn’t make sense really.
