    Another kite flyer here!

I fly a 4m ozone which was also my first kite. Good size. Not too much in lower winds but still pretty exciting in big winds.

After a while a bought a trampa kite board and a harness. Managed to roughly go one way and ocassionally back the other way, but not been out in ages. Slightly different experience using a harness too.

Learn to fly the kite with a bit of sliding around and get used to using the wind window. ie strongest in the middle, weakest at the edges.

Its great fun on its own anyway. And as others have mentioned. Start on handles rather than a bar and Use the kite killers as even in weakish winds I have had to let go of mine.

Obviously its nothing to do with cables or tension or limit screws people!

The mech is as far over as it will go (touching the seat tube), no matter what you do to cables or screws its not going to move the mech any further! So it must be that the chainrings are too far in. Whack a spacer in the BB, problem solved :)

And their rationale for doing this to the chap…

Judge Anne Molyneux said he had ruined the race for everyone.

    Oh boo hoo.

I started on 710 Funn bars on my mmmBop. Swapped to the 780 Pro-Tapers fairly recently and much better. Problem is; I almost feel like I want them wider still. :|

Yep, probably worth having a go at the horseshoe, but its quite a long route with a fair bit of ridge style scrambling.
But Snowdon does get very busy and I tend to avoid unless its in winter conditions or for a quick evening ride in the summer. Down just before dark.

Some quieter walks include Moel Siabod via the Daear Ddu ridge (South face), along the ridge at the top and back down.

Cnicht is a good one. Not well known but very nice. Walk from the valley to the west (Nanmor I believe) up to the summit. Then head north along the ridge and back down.

An alarming number of these are cat related. Definitely makes a compelling argument for never, ever getting one!

Barefoot running shoes from the likes of Merrell. As long as they are mixed with good running technique; (balls of feet, not heels). They got rid of my knee pain.

why not lower the stem and fit riser bars if handling is improved with riser bars?

Riser bars don’t improve handling. The reason riser bars are more preferential is because the stem can be mounted with less spacers underneath. Looks better and I suppose is also stronger.

Flat bars allow you to bring your weight more over the front forks into a bit more of an ‘attack’ position. That’s why they are becoming more common place in DH.

In reference to a recent PSA

These (Scott Mind) have got to be some of the best I have worn. Not sure if anywhere is still selling them cheap, but they are fantastic.

Nice light material; cut is nigh on perfect although erring slightly on the baggy side.

Prior to these my favourite shorts were 2012 Endura Singletracks which are still my go to short for crap weather without going full-on waterproof.

I have an Outdoor Research Ferrosi jacket that I use for the summer. It’s really thin (not fragile, Had a good few offs in mine and just chuck it in the wash afterwards), really stretchy and has a hood too which is useful.

Best part is I picked it up from field and Trek for about £40. The new colour is £60 tho… http://bit.ly/ZzgrQ1

I am also tall and skinny and fit is perfick.

Marin is fine. Bit snowy, but ridable. Don’t even bother with Penmachno; far too deep.

You’ll be fine. You will know when your pushing your limits. Just keep at it and the strength will build over time.
You will naturally start off with the bigger jug holds, and as strength increases you will find you can progressively use smaller ones.

I have pretty long fingers too and never had a problem. My arms go before my fingers.

    Did my dissertation on this.

Basically. Its the hydraulic geometry of the river that affects the flow rate (Discharge). Hydraulic geometry relates to surface roughness, slope gradient, and BANKFULL cross sectional area. The actual speed of the water doesn’t change hugely until it starts dropping into the cracks in the bottom of the river, putting it simply.

Been a while since I did this so probably sounds a bit garbled.
