Surely the five is more comparable to a zesty rather than a spicy?

I wear mine on its own quite a lot on cooler days. but I run pretty cold, normally need a few layers and was fine with this as a single layer. They are amazing though.

I have one of their revolution dry baselayers too. Its a very light stretchy material, looks a bit gimpy. But its much better than the plain lifa tops

I have a zee mech and a zee shifter. The shifter is gopping compared to XT, but the mech is great.

Get an XT shifter with the zee mech. I’m running it with 11-36 and its been fine for over a year. *Touches wood*

Did ghetto conversion with duct tape to build rim well up.
    And a BMX tube.

Works great. I do have access to a compressor which helps a lot!

Tyre is a high roller 2 exo casing. Non tubeless ready. Went up first time.

Another vote for impacts. I used to stick mine in font of the aga to dry them overnight.

Don’t use them anymore since going SPD. But they are much warmer than my M162 shoes.

Dont bother with Karrimor they are shit.

    Buy cheap buy twice.

With Karrimor, it may well be more than twice!

I got a pair of Scarpa Terra GTX boots a few years back for about £80.
Used them for lots of things that probably warrant a burlier boot, but they are still going strong.

Well that’s my suspicions confirmed with the suntours.

I would loves some x fusions but my frame isn’t tapered so has to have a 1 1/8th steerer.

They are proving harder to find with a straight steerer than i thought.

It is most likely gone. Especially as the spokes are all still tight.

People seem to aim for sub 30.
But coverts aren’t the lightest frames around.
And 721 rims certainly aren’t light.
    So its not bad!

I just swapped over to a new frame with pressfit BB: as a result, couldn’t fit my top only chain guide on.

But I do have a Works Components ring.

Decided to see what it was like without a guide. Never dropped a chain once and I forgot to put the clutch on my Zee mech.

Rode a local sneaky DH track. Fell off. No issues.

I’m surprised by how many people don’t wear them. Sad really.

Northwind, we should ride sometime! :-)

The riding itself is meh. I always get really cold toes which ruins it for me. What I do like is coming back in sitting down and having a massive bowl of slow cooked stew!

I have been looking at zesty frames too. Had a ride on the spicy and liked it. So stands to reason I will like the zesty too!

How much you asking for it? (probably more than i have) :p

They are cheap if you ‘mistake’ them for onions at the self checkout. :-)

    Mine did.
Going to order some more before they realise how cheap they are.

    Damn good grips though eh!

Primaloft is all well and good, but it is no where near as warm as a high fill power down jacket. But it is slightly better suited to UK conditions in that it doesn’t matter of it gets wet.

Montane Prism is a pretty thin jacket in the grand scheme of things.

From looking around, the only synthetic fill jackets that come close to down are the ME Citadel and the Paramo Torres.

Alpkit are one to look at when they bring out their new Filo jackets in December. Other than that, just get the one with the highest fill power that fits (don’t confuse EU fill standards with US). Get one that fits snug as it will keep you warmer, and realistically you wont be layering up much underneath a thick one!

It was Dragon’s Back we did, found a lot of it boring tbh. Like I say, when it’s good it’s really good, Adam’s family etc.

Dragon’s back isn’t a great one. Fairly long way and lots of big climbs, but the singletrack isnt as good as MBR/Beast

How are you guys building your own batteries with the individual cells?

I have bought 3 lights from dongx on eBay.

The first one was a red one. came with a 4 cell battery and a 2 pin charger.

2nd lot were black and came with 6 cell batteries and UK charger.

The light heads of the black ones are of much higher quality, better screws, and better mount. The switch also operates differently. The red scrolls from high to low including strobe. The blacks scroll from low to high and you have to hold it down for strobe. So looks like there are a few different versions floating around. both seem about the same for brightness, and both use XML U2 LEDS

Something cheap as it will probably get dropped and have things spilt on it!

Just get a cheap Petzl one. Certainly enough to ride by. Will definitely get you home. Very reliable lights!

Mine is a Myo RXP which isn’t cheap (I bought it so I can use rechargable and lithium batteries in it) but the cheaper Tikka 2 lights aren’t significantly less bright, and just takes 3xAAA batteries so you can pack a few spare. Useful for mechanicals too.

I always carry mine as a backup even with both my high powered jobbies.

Edit: I have an Alpkit one somewhere too that has a red rear light on the battery pack. That was useful.

I know I posted one of their products in another thread, but try Rohan. Not cheap but seem to do what you want. They make a lot of chino-esque trousers made from decent fabric.

Take a hacksaw to a go pro buckle mount and screw it on the bottom.
