If you got poo on it, would you clean it, or throw it away?

Ps : the Pipedream sirius looks also super nice but no mounts, and probably perfect as an all mountain hardtail, less as a do it all not too boring on the flat as it sounds

    Sirius S6

Just so you know the S6 version currently in preorder does have all the mounts. Definitely a good bit longer and slacker than the others though, as you say.

A slack, low travel hard tail sounds very much like a Pipedream Sirius.

I have a Fairlight Holt which I really love, but I’ve got it setup rigid and I think it’s a bit less LLS than all those you’ve listed.

Worth noting that the c13 doesn’t follow the same sizing trend …. i.e. it’s not smaller than the c15

It comes in 2 sizes, both of which are between the c15 and c17 widths.

The main difference is the carbon looped rail. So you’d need a seatpost that can take the oval rails.

Ive always used the Juice Lubes AAS Juice.

    https://juicelubes.com/aas-juice-aluminium-anti-seize-paste-aas-g1.html

Ive taken BB’s out years later and its still got a nice layer of silver paste in there.

He’s not really in a position to call the number that you phone if you smell gas.

They will absolutely take it seriously. If you tell them exactly what is written here. “I can’t smell gas, but my meter is going round with no appliances running. I’m worried I may have a leak.”

They will come out within a couple of hours. Put a pressure drop test on and tell you straight away.

They will never moan about coming out even for little things. Just call them.

    Warm Bodies

The Babysitter and the sequel are fun comedy/slasher

    Freaky is similar idea.

Lisa Frankenstein is very odd. But quite fun.

(Looks like I have a type)

Wanted (James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie). Not great. But one of those films you just ‘stick on’ and end up watching it all.

Some excellent wine from round there.

Raaw bikes are based there. Take one out for a demo. Lots of nice walks and some riding in the forest too.

    Eat some wurst.

Can’t help with the camping though

You’ll be lucky to get 140 miles with the heating on in this cold weather.

Charging on the road at fast chargers is price per mile, more than diesel.

The home plug on a 13a plug will take more than overnight to fully charge. Takes about 8 hours on a 7kw EV charger.

    Diesel.

I had one. I really liked it when it was working. But i had an issue once where the freehub locked open and completely disengaged. it was freezing cold though so maybe the grease was extra thick and sticky?

I took it all apart and tried servicing with the correct grease etc but the freehub then always feel quite sticky and dragged with the wheel. I guess i was doing something wrong but couldn’t work it out even following the various guides online, so rebuilt the wheel onto a 104t Bontrager hub i had lying around.

I think they may have changed some bits in the newer models as i’ve since seen them and they are much louder and don’t go silent like mine did.

I really wanted to ride it, and when it was working was great. its still in the shed to try again another day, its just overly complicated when there are much simpler hubs out there i dont have to worry about.

I looked at this when I last went snowboarding to Italy and found my travel insurance covers it. I’ve got the travel pack with Barclays which is full travel insurance including winter sports cover and comprehensive RAC breakdown for about £14 a month for two of us. Seems reasonable to me.

Check with your bank maybe to see what they offer?

I was never asked for proof mind, don’t know who would even ask?

If it’s for xt/ultegra BB. The TL-FC41 for the DM chainrings also functions as a BB tool adapter.

2 tools for one if you need one. Otherwise go for a park as above.

I have one. Just a hair under 6ft. Riding a large. Mine is currently setup with Travers prong carbon rigid fork. Hunt xc alloy wheels and an old 10spd 11-36 drivetrain. Pnw dropper. It’s about 11kg. Definitely not the lightest, but for steel im happy with it.

Bloomin’ love it though. Very comfy bike and pretty capable even in it’s rigid form. I’m tempted to get a sus fork for it, and it needs bigger gears for bikepacking trips. I’ve not ridden any of the others you mention. I bought this to replace a gravel bike that I was riding like an xc bike. Definitely would recommend though. It’s a brilliant universal mountain bike, meant in the best possible way. Just great for getting out there.

I was told i couldnt have a smart meter on e7 not that i want one anyway

You absolutely can. Just depends if the supplier is fitting them. The off peak, dual tariff meters have 5 ports on the bottom for the extra off peak live cable to go to your storage heater consumer unit.

Get an EV and a V2H 2 way charger. Use the car as your battery storage.

One of those Anker powerhouse boxes could work. Has the benefit of being portable to use away/camping too if wanted. No idea how/if you’d get it to power a boiler though.

Generator would be the cheaper option by far. And they really are very quiet now. Won’t even hear the more modern ones if you have the back door shut and leave it running in the garden.

Camping stove and a hot water bottle with a headtorch and a book?

    why is that?

The Guides have dodgy master cylinders that seize. Though basic, the TRP would definitely be a better bet.

I’ve got an older version of the Deuter Attack 16.

Really like it. Phone pocket is in a great place just next to where the hip strap attaches into the side of the bag. Does have hip pockets too.

It’s quite a flat pack which suits me well and doesn’t bulge at all. The back protector helps with this as keeps it rigid.

I don’t use it often as most of my rides are short enough for a small hip pack. But I always enjoy using it.

Magura are all 2mm. Galfer come in 2mm ebike version, the shark rotors look great. SRAM HS2 are 2mm. TRP/Tektro do a 2.3.

I’m using Magura in my Shimano SLX calipers. Seem good and have stayed straight so far. They give a very slightly firmer lever feel too due to the increased thickness.

Three and EE WiFi calling seems to be much better and more reliable than O2 and Vodafone.

I’ve just got a Lebara SIM which runs on Vodafone. The WiFi calling works, but it doesn’t often switch on. The EE WiFi calling was almost always active when connected to a network. Maybe that’s because the Vodafone signal is better, but who knows. A cheap way to get EE WiFi calling (which seems to be the best) is the 1p network.

Have a look here. Gives some clues on which networks have the best handset availability too.

Just keep pumping. One of two things will happen next.

More soap is generally the method that works.

We’ve got a small tree that produces crazy amounts of fruit every year. This year especially. No idea what variety they are, but they’re very nice.

Problem we have is keeping the wasps away. half of them just get munched and then end up in the compost.

    Any tips?

Find the part number using roof rack.co.uk if you don’t know it, and put them on eBay. The different feet normally fit lots of different cars so might be worth it.

The easiest option will be to remove the GXP adapters from your Hope BB making it a 24mm BB. Then for some Shimano 165mm cranks. Or Middleburn.

Yep. Almost certainly the canister. My official jetboil struggles with some canisters. The gosystem ones seem to be the worst for it

Hope are a bit like that. They don’t seem to like communication, they just crack on and get it done.

Don’t ask for anything not on the menu as you’ll probably just get the standard brekkie anyway. But its a good brekkie!

Just bumping this thread up as there’s another batch of these coming in the next couple of weeks and one of them will be making its way to me.

Anyone else waiting for one? How you building it up? Mine will be rigid to start with.

Anyone with one already have any opinion on a dropper post? Oneup Vs PNW Rainier seem the best options.

Look at deadbugs too. When done properly with the proper core bracing they’re quite effective.

Its annoying as I hate Facebook. But every bike I’ve sold recently (despite being advertised everywhere) has been sold through Facebook marketplace as the first contact. As above, be very strict with who you actually speak to. There’s a lot of spam and fake accounts who message trying to say they’ll send courier with cash… My brother will pick it up etc.

Pinkbike has been good for selling parts, I guess because you can sort and filter easily with the categories.

I think it’s a similar situation. The frame was a limited run that can’t be bought new anymore and I’ve used lots of Hope parts on the build which may not be as easy/cheap to get hold of overseas.

Still waiting to sort out payment. Will aim towards cash or PayPal.

Thanks for the comments. I don’t know him, but have spoken on the phone have his Facebook and Instagram etc. All very genuine. Definitely a biker. Bike is about 1.5k

I’ve had a look at Wise which does seem like a good option. But will be wary. How long does it take for the transfer to ‘complete’?
