I’ve got a 2013 zesty and went from an rp2 (stock) to a custom tuned loco rp23 BV kashima that was good but even with the volume reducers fitted it still blew threw it’s travel. After speaking to TF I fitted a 2014 monarch plus in M and M tune and it’s been great. Really just does it’s job perfectly holds up in the travel and even on (huge for me) 4 foot drops in didn’t feel out of it’s depth. After years of fox forks and shocks I’ve now gone monarch and new pike fork and will never go back to fox

My pal a crazy polish guy loves his big cars and paid 3k for an ex embassy merc from
Some obscure African state in London. It’s done 130k but full merc dealer history and drives like new. Obviously if it fails it’s for the bin but he loves the thing and looks like a pimp going to work.

It’s not the first time I’ve seen a spring snap when the car is stationary . Once on an mot refresher course with 8 testers watching and the vosa guy doing a mock test the spring snapped for no reason as he was inspecting the filler cap.
Salt on our roads is the main cause. Not an issue in Europe apparently…

My favourite ” I’m an engineer ” comment was a customer telling me how to rebuild his engine and complex fuel system. When I pushed him to elaborate on what type of engineering field he worked in he very sheepishly replied ” I repair washing machines” !!!

Not tried both but my 40t one up with the rad cage is amazing easy smooth changing and would never change to anything else. I use a 34t up front

If no coolant loss and the fan works I wouldn’t be too bothered obviously engines “feel” the temp difference quickly. But that’s what your fans for. Did they also replenish the anti feeze? That will help keep the temp cooler. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it’s using coolant .

I have a 2014 monarch plus, I was thinking about sending it away for the debonair air can upgrade. Love my monarch plus. Really rate the shox. Changed from an rp23 that was plus but blew threw it’s travel even after putting air can shims in and set up by someone

Not seen the chosen trails yet but “6 inches only” is probably one of the best/hardest trails I’ve ever ridden. Love it out there.

As above if it already has a shiny new turbo I would be worried. But the golden rule is see if the injector have leaked I.e black tar like substance around the base of the injectors. If so walk away. The amount of crap inside the engine is a bitch to clean out to prevent future (soon) turbo failures.
I.e x3 oil and filter changes after vac pump removed and cleaned, sump and oil pump removed, oil pump strip and clean out, rocker cover off and clean and turbo oil feed and return replacement.
I’ve just finished a c4 1.6 HDI rebuild last night I intend to keep for my self so if any wants my old pug 307 sw 110 HDI (2.0L motor rebuilt and solid flywheel converted) give me a shout.

If you end up buying the LWB avoid the h/d Suspention optioned vans (self levelling airbag rear Suspention) expensive if they go wrong…

Does seem a lot for a crank pully. If it’s worn/noisy it’s obviously a rubber damped type and Peugeot/citroen use that type on diesels part only is @£100 but as some one has said GSF do an slightly lower quality one for £40 that I’ve use on my car for 40k and still working. Go on the GSF web site put your reg in and get the price for your self. Good luck

I’ve delt with hotlines and lapierre… If the bike is under 12 months I would argue if it’s 2+ years I would take the frame, I ran adaptors on a zesty 414 to permit QR rear on a 142×12 rear with no issues. There does seem to be a lot of 27.5 zesty frames on the net for sale so maybe that’s an option and buy another 26 frame that’s not carbon ( I snapped a rear on my zesty and wanted an alloy replacment that I love and trust)

No rob if I’m right about the filter, the low oil pressure is genuine

    chrisdiesel
    Free Member

Shit rob sorry!!! Just re read the post!!! I thought I had read diesel!!!
Ok easy fix and you owe me a beer!!!
It needs a new oil filter!!! When you remove it the cross hatching in the middle will be broken and causing the oil pressure to drop. Get a new one fixed. Seen it loads and loads mega common with non gen oil filters

It’s not a common issue on the dv6 engine I’ve seen it only a few times and it was a full stop size bit of grit has stuck in the oil pressure relief spring and bucket. It could be a faulty pressure sensor but again never seen.
Do check for water in both the engine Ecu and in the PSF1 (fuse box under the bonnet)
Let me know if you need any more ideas. Don’t drive until sorted because it will kill the turbo in days if it’s really low.

If you buy new make sure the dealer is an approved mavic dealer that you can buy mavic crash/damage insurance for them £45. I’ve got a pair and intend to make full use of the insurance within the next 2 years… Not available if you buy outside the uk. (I’ve been told)

Mmmmm ok, to find your vac system you can start from the brake servo/master cylinder (the thing that you put brake fluid in) a big round dinner ish plate size thing behind it (servo) will have a pipe coming from it and going to the vacum pump (diesel) Check that pipe but it’s possible if it’s diesel it will have pipes that feed vac to other circuits I.e turbo electro valve/ egr valve. Good luck but be careful messing under the bonnet if your unsure of what your doing.

I had the same thoughts I’ve had migraines all my life and went to get my usual tables from a new doc and he wanted me to have a full head scan and tons of tests. I’m very aware of how long genuinely Ill people wait to get an MRI so I said thanks but no thanks. And. Then spent 12 months dealing with letters and calls trying to re arrange a scan I never booked. If I was you I would just go so not to have to deal with the constant letters and calls of a “missed appointment”

Do a “google” search on any car, any engine in fact anything and you will find problems/faults
As on a million other threads. Ford/Mazda/Volvo/Peugeot/citroen fitted that engine. It’s a great engine just 20000 miles between service is too much and 90% of the population never bother to check their oil between service so basically most ran on no oil for over 12 months and then people complain when turbos fail. 95%+ of failures are lack of oil, poor quality oil or poor servicing.

I had the same issue with a shadow plus xt mech, couldn’t get enough B tention ended up replacing the screw with a longer bolt or as I was advised on here run the b tention bolt in the other way.
I took me a while messing but is perfect now

Genuinely appreciate the comments. I’ve had a look on line and the best price I can find is from the German sites £509!!! Doesn’t sound to bad. Obviously if you google anything you can find negatives but was the rear Hub issues on earlier wheels? Or is their still an issue with pre load coming loose?

I had a 2011 zesty, loved it, upgraded to a rp23 boost valve kashima shox really didn’t feel that much better but lost the great pro predal off the standard shox!!! Do try the low friction bushes before spending big money on a new shock I found they made a lot of difference.

Sessioning the hope line at gisburn in mid winter with mates, a group of 10 “novice” riders turn up watching me, so the speed and the air increase until a point when I arrived at the bottom section going so fast I couldn’t stop. My head tells me to jump over the left hand berm at the end but what happened in reality was I took off over the berm and landed front wheel first into a deep frozen muddy pool that stopped my front wheel dead sending me on my head unconscious in a heap to the groups feet. Broken ribs / headache and a few days off work and the sound of the groups laughter still makes me cringe now.
