I thought this was just me, I’ve had probably 8/10 random e mails from people asking Peugeot/citroen technical advice a few was off here so I helped as much as possible but most was “ive found singletrack from a Google search and I see you work for Peugeot/citroen can you Diag my car and tell me how much to fix it by my random guesses and the advice of what Dave down the pub says it may be… I try to help but the last one was “I think the turbo has gone because the light is on how much to fix it and are you sure it’s that…”

Ive ridden most bikes (not a yeti) but the rune is amazing climbs ok but when decending its so reassuring that it’s dangerous safe you feel and fast you end up.
Again bias because I’ve got one but I genuinely don’t want any other bike.

Spoke to TF about pike seals a few days ago, they said they have found the new 2016 SKF seals sticky and are using low friction racing bros so something like that when they do a service.
I’ve been told the green low friction ones don’t fit as above said.

    Regard high torque “air guns”
For home use I’ve got a cheap machine mart electric one £50 ish if I remember correct and never failed to remove even the most seized crank or drive shaft nut.

DSG is good but have a lot of problems, and many upgrade and mods, many manufacturers made “autos” that are in effect manual gear boxes but have Ecu control clutch and gear changes. The reason they don’t go full auto is conventional auto box torq converter type are more wasteful on fuel so come out with high road tax and poor economy.
The early versions all where a bit poor at judging slow speed pulling away or quick pull away. Latest stuff is near as good but not perfect.
I had a customer a few weeks ago with a DSG gearbox in a citroen c crosser that had a pressure sensor fault and wasn’t repairable I.e the gearbox is a sealed unit.
The gearbox alone was £8500.00 without labour

I’ve got a banshee rune, and tried Verious rockshox debonair and now a CCDB air
It seems to depend on the web site it they round up or down 216/215mm but don’t stress it’s all the same.
In my humble opinion, after years of fox rp23 and then rockshox monarch then debonair piggy back the CCDB air is a different level of quality, bit heavy but amazing when set up, made my pikes up front feel wooden.

I did the same on a spicy to slacken it a bit more… How much Difference not sure, how much was in my head but I liked it.
Works sealing is terrible so buy a spare set of bearings.
Did you know superstar are also doing offset head sets v soon and also uk made.

Due to the possibility of you picking up the puncture on the way to the garage and the possibility it was done when (I would suspect) they test drove it.
I would probably sell you the tire at cost and supply and fit and dispose of the old tyre FOC, or poss go halfs if your a long term customer.
It’s simply not worth the loss of a good customer over a cost as small as a tyre.

I went x3 last year for work and fun, nightlife is loads better in the week, weekends are when Hicksville arrive and it’s just crazy tourists, If you don’t have a hotel booked yet go cheap hotel fri/sat and treat yourself to an amazing suite mid week for next to nothing.
Cool hotel bars are the Palms on the roof (not Been for a few years) nice quiet ish bar with great views in the mandarin oriental, Winn has great bars. Out let malls on ether end of the strip are good sports stuff Nike etc.
I’ve been twice for UFC fights and it feels like half of America arrives on the Saturday am, something is on near every weekend but nothing draws crowds like boxing/UFC
If your a foody nubu etc are easy walk in casual dinning and are amazing food and not as expensive as uk/London prices but food as service is fantastic.
Obviously the shows on the strip are good if that’s what your into?

I’m no expert but have a look at the tons of previous threads on here about set up and advice on pike set up. 2 tokens do help keep you higher in the travel if that’s what your after. Give it a try.

As I’ve Said, it’s a good engine but hugely under tuned but I don’t see many because psa only fit it to c6 c5 plus some big peugeots. I never understood why it’s so de tuned from memory it makes 170 bhp in the c6 which is crazy when the new 2.0L 4 cylender diesel makes up to 180 bhp.
But it is very smooth and quiet and a relaxed drive but no horror stories to tell about them at all really possibly because it’s so understressed by the low power output.
When I was at the factory they did say that in some of the jags/discos it was killing the rear diff due to its high torque!!!

The engine is good very under powered for its size so no real engine failures to speak of, a few EGR faults and as someone said due to the big lump and power required to turn it over people don’t fit the correct battery as a replacment (1050 amp.) so loads of random electric faults caused by low voltage from cranking.
The later 3.0 Is very good,
Both engines are Peugeot/CITROEN that jag bought in, if that is any issue to you.

A guy in his 50s in the car in front of me this morning threw his empty fag packet and a wrapper out of the window, I pull along side him and screamed at him for being a “scruffy c**t and ask why he did it… He could give a reason and just said sorry…
Strange answer but my early am grumpy face screaming in his car window will hopefully stop him from doing it again.

Yep admin mess up, log books get lost new cars break down, keys go missing as the customer walks into the dealer.
I appreciate its a lot of money and a stressful time but why not just take the loan car till it’s all sorted and ask for a small discount or more likely the next service FOC or even just a tank of fuel???
It’s a bit poor but things go wrong in every trade especially when your dealing with multiple departments and half a dozen people all involved.

The way he looked at 168ib was as a fighter should look. People won’t accept him dropping all that weight to fight shorter, smaller guys anymore.
he’s eating an extra slice of humble pie today I suspect

I’ve got a 2015 rune with a pike and CCDB air cs, in large I’m 5.10. I’ve had stump jumper/enduro and a zesty and a spicy, the rune is heavier but the dw Suspention is fantastic, I genuinely really like it. I shouldn’t like it as much as I do, as I’ve had pikes/50 mm stem 800mm bars on previous bikes and the 65 degree head angle but I’m faster on the rune and it feels amazing so it’s ether the dw link or the CCDB???

As someone above said, my pal that works for Audi had said he won’t be letting his friends or family that drive affected cars be downloaded.
Without the add blue and pre cat system I cannot see purely software fixing anything without softwear that will make it flatter than holland…

When I was younger I did the usual back packer route of s/e Asia, met a guy from Manchester who had grafter for 10 years 7 days a week to buy and do up and rent cheap 2 bed houses, he ended up with 6 houses with tiny Morgages and at 35 lived 20 feet from the beach with his Thai mrs and kids and planned to never work again and could live a simple life off the rental income alone…

I did the same with my dad’s old car, again only worth a few £. When I spoke to the dvla if memory serves. They want me to send copy’s for death cert and will etc to re register the car in my name and got arsey when I mentioned selling it quick and asked how I decided I had permission to sell it.
So I just signed it my self and sold it, as someone said no one cares, only care about the new owner as long as no finance etc

I’ve heard stories about parts issues I.e locks/steering components and Ecus no longer being available effectively making the car scrap if a part fails.
Again it’s what I was told by a customer a few years ago so may have changed but he waiting 4 months for a sensor/Ecu and was told it was the last one available. And wouldn’t be any more ever. I cannot be anyone rushing to supply low volume parts for a now defunct manufacturer.

Extra load can make an already firm riding car feel even harder.
But mostly cheaper brands go heavy load/ higher rating because as has been said you can fit to anything that requires lower rating.
I.e my pal has a civic type R, because he’s tight he bought 4 cheap extra load tyres and now it feels even more like he’s driving a skate board. He intends to now remove them.

As has been said the latest small 3 cylender petrol turbo engine are great BUT have to be driven quite hard to be nippy and lack much torque… Plus fuel Eco stated figures are no where near real world reproducible.
The noise can be intrusive at m/way speeds.
If big miles go diesel, if mostly local petrol.

Went to Vegas to watch the UFC mcgregor fight… Flew 1st class so with pals drinking most of the flight, due to the time difference I got to Vegas showered and changed and went straight out on the p155!!! 2am in Vegas I lost it, never been so drunk in my life, managed to get to my room and get undressed and into bed. Then realised I had lost my phone…
Had a look if I’d dropped it outside the hotel room and yep the door locked behind me!!! Cupped my balls and walked/stumbled to the reception in the mandarin oriental 5 star hotel!!!
After “sir you cannot be naked here” they put me in a silk black genuine nikki minage monogrammed dressing gown. Escorted back to my room by two bouncers and woke up confused hung over in a woman’s dressing gown.
Mrs loves the dressing gown and saved me a few quid on a lads holiday gift.

Had a few different works ones on different bikes, a bit agricultural looking and as had been said seals poor and bearings don’t last. When I ordered my second a few years after my first I hoped they had improved the style/design.
    But no!!!

I’ve a couple of long sleeve Mavic jerseys I bought from Ali express £9.45 vs £45 took about a month to come with free post. Fit is perfect as is the material.
Really pleased with them. Won’t be wearing till summer so no opinion on quality/wear but at that price I’m not going to get upset when I fall and tear it.

So just seen SKF do a black and a green 35mm seals for pikes, plush in the uk sell them (green) but online most American sites comment on the greens being ultra low friction and amazing with a pre lubricated foam seal. Any one tried them?

If it is the dv6 is not a veri blade turbo and yes the world would be a better place without EGR but blocking EGR with be detected and Ecu will light the EML on the dash and put the engine into low power mode, it’s only possible with a re map software delete.
It’s unlikely to be throttle pedal because they run a fail safe twin track system to watch for any inconsistencies in the potentiometer readings back to the Ecu
Blocking EGR was only possible on euro 2/3.

I “think” but not sure that’s the Peugeot/citroen dv6 engine.
If so its not a common issue but won’t be difficult to find with a decent diagnostic tool.
Softwear is unlikely unless it’s been happening since you have had the car,
Places I would def look are particle filter load % , air flow reading, fuel flow readings and EGR faults.
Even if minor or temporary it would 100% store all of these faults the trouble is cheap not dealer tools may not be able to access the file.
Because all the above affect the emissions it should really bring the EML light on.
    Unless is normal turbo leg?

Because the water/urea mix is such a hassle to constantly fill up the next advance is a sold block of urea that’s heated to provide the gas for the chemical reaction, because it’s not idea injecting water onto a sensitive extremely hot particle filter esp when you want it hotter not cooler to help the reaction/regeneration process.

Euro 6 and soon to be 7 warn at 3000 green warning then 1500 Amber and red and 500.
The engine softwear on most euro 6 and all euro 7 engines must not permit the engine to start if the fluid level is 0% because the vehicle is not conforming to its emission standards!!! All euro 6 car I thing now have the filler next to the fuel filler cap, older stuff is filled in the boot
A few years ago the EU was in talks about a warning light in the high level brake light to inform police etc that the vehicle is polluting more than specs and that was even for the engine management light on never mind the add blue light.
Regards psa Peugeot/CITROEN we charge £15 for 10 litres inc filling, tank capacity is 17 litres and should (driving style dependent last 14/16k between fill ups and should be filled to max as part of any service.
