Reckon a tilting tow bar mounted job is the easiest solution and best for the bikes.

Smells nice. Watch out for overspray on laminate flooring though. Suddenly becomes and icerink.

    Check this out –

Also if you check out Alpine Bikes facebook page they are running a caption comp to win a free day on the Patriot at Inners. Something about a horse.

not really ‘all new’ are they? look identical to what they have been spewing out the last few years…apart from the BS fork & shock internal gubbins.

What’s wrong with that?! Why does something have to be new to be better?!

Mad idea of bike development some people have.

The Trek Full Sussers are already very sweet bikes that ride far better than many niche brands. The technology in them is amazing and they have taken another step forward this year. A DRCV fork should be awesome if it’s as good as the shock.

Plenty space for a banana in the stretchy front pocket.

They are very good packs – much better than the Camelbaks

It’s really quite good once you understand that it’s like a mashup of the best bits of facebook and twitter – not just a Google facebook. Gives a lot of flexibility in terms of following/friending etc.

Very good but quite short. Upper red isn’t that great better doing the black. It’s quite technical i.e. a proper black though so have a look at it before you fire on down. Lower red is great fun.

Nice stacked loop system so easy to do bits again for not much climbing.

2.4 non turbo will burn pretty much anything apparently.

I’m running a 1.9TD on 70/30 Veg/Diesel with no problems – have been for 2 years now. Just adjust the mixture for more Diesel when it gets cold.

You will want a new fuel filter after 500 miles or so if you rub veg. After that it’s just as per normal servicing.

Can’t invite right now it’s locked down by the looks of things.

Besides – it’s $27 an invite on eBay!

Can change lenses so easy to get different effects i.e. fisheye.

Can achieve set depth of field much easier (i.e. blur background – the easiest way to make your videos look ‘professional’)

Most mid level web video producers are using DSLR now. It’s not unprofessional to turn up with one if you have a decent off camera mic and tripod as mentioned above.

Disadvantage usually comes down to having to buy lots of memory cards or one big one.

Probably best off with a cheap DSLR that shoots 1080 HD?

Pretty reasonable. You’ll get a decent standard of video from one of these if you know what you’re doing. And you can always upgrade the lenses.

Have one you are welcome to a shot of – it’s at the bottom of MacDonald road though so probably not handy.

8 mile lap usually, reasonable climbing. Good descents.

mate if its not techy enough you should be riding faster

Techy and speed aren’t the same thing.

My T4 is designed around kitesurfing and mountain biking.

Basically the cupboard at the back has all the cooking equipment in 2 metal ages on rollers.

The rest of the unit is storage and seating – the double ply on the top flips out with screw on legs to make a double bed (8×4)

It works really well for biking as there is plenty of room for a couple of bikes bungeed to the passenger side wall behind the side door.

There is loads of storage space inside the bed unit.

Laminate floor is excellent for sweeping out the mud and sand.

pick up the front end….I am not a great rider, but have started saving the front end more…..Light forks seem to help as well…easier to pick it up when it starts to drift

Can you enlighten me a little, how do you pick up the front end if your tyre is washing out?

Would that not leave you with less grip?

As for tips, Shimano SP41/XTR outer and XTR inner cables all the way. Make sure you use the XTR ends on the outers too

    +1

    +1. Silky smooth.

Don’t bother drilling out the cable stops in case you want to sell the frame in the future. just cable tie them on close.

Geometry will be weird at 130/160. Especially since the Fishers use the G2 offset fork crown.

    Probably invalidate your warranty.

    Very odd combo – why?

I haven’t read the thread but I’ll chip in with why I wouldn’t do one –

    – It all sounds a bit lame. Like World Of Warcraft for bikers.

    – Why spoil a ride with a treasure hunt? Navigate if you need to, otherwise just ride.

    – Seems like inventing a new sport for the sake of inventing it.

I’ve nothing against anyone who takes part, I just think you’d all have more fun if you just went out riding.

Immense course – no let up – either up or down – loved it!

Organisation was excellent – got to be definite for next year.

The Growler was a bit tricky towards the end of the day :)

Sorry Dougal, I don’t think your guess on the climb is correct – not far off though.

2nd climb is long, unrelenting fire road.

I could also be wrong so don’t take this as gospel. I hope it is the course though the new sections cut are awesome. We’ll find out tomorrow either way!

Does anyone know if it’s a Le Mans style start or some kind of procession?
