So you find a bike that is twice as much as the one you want, and put in the groundwork…you need a new bike, it’s perfect for the type of riding you do, but it’s a bit expensive, you’re not sure what to do etc.

Then you ‘find’ the one you originally wanted…it’s nearly as good, it’s half the price, you would have felt guilty about buying the expensive one (this is key, you’re the victim here 😊) you’re saving money etc etc.

New bike arrives, everyone is happy.

I’ve used paisley freight a few times. They can also deliver you a bike box to pack it in.
Though once for me they came to collect the bike before the box was delivered 😄 easily sorted it out via email, they were quick to reply.

The size restrictions on their site sat :
“The length of your final packaged box should not exceed 1.6m with the sum of the width and height not exceeding 1.2m (i.e. when you add the width and height together they should not be more than 120cm)”

Yeah I did this a few years back, with Screwfix hinges. needed a drill bit for metal for the new holes and somehow supported the window myself whilst changing them. I remember it’s hard work until the first screw is back in.
I think I was able to get part of the pane to balance in the frame somehow and leant it onto my shoulder or head, but local company wanted what I thought was crazy amounts per pane.

My windows were all about 55cm x 80cm. I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anything bigger.

I remember Stephen Fry saying his favourite word is plinth, it’s a pretty nice word to say out loud

Doing (as in how Betty boo does the do), because it is spelt the same as doing (a bells noise, like boing), which always makes me question how to pronounce going. The alternative pronunciation is much better

Yes to Lord Gun, bought some drivetrain bits. no issues.

I find it odd that a .co.uk shop is based in Italy. I suppose if you want to return items it will cost a little more in postage

    +1 for the reframing.
…I’ve found an issue, we can’t ship with it
…I think I know how to fix it, I will need x (time, resources)
…I expect it will lead to a delay of x

The culture of the company is also important here, how are staff treated when raising issues

I have one bike with invisiframe, after 2 years it only shows on a few edges near the bottom bracket where a tiny piece has got some dirt behind it

I have another bike with some HKT pieces and some 3m tape. These are much thicker and show more than the invisiframe, but we’re cheaper.

    I prefer the invisiframe

Just finished it, I really enjoyed it. I thought it was about to run out of steam after episode 3 but it twisted and got better

I watched it on my commute, and on one episode I looked up and the train had arrived and emptied without me noticing. I was the only person on board 😃

Enjoyed that first episode, bit too much blood,

Have you seen GOT? It was a little tame compared to that tbh, nowhere near enough nudity/beheadings etc 🤣

Decent first episode though, good to hear a similar theme song as well

Yeah, true enough, it wasnt as bad as fingers in eyeballs exploding head, but still had me wincing

Back to the original question:😉, it’s easier if you shift up to top gear, and if your rear mech has a clutch make sure it is in the off position, and then don’t forget to turn it back on once you’ve refitted the wheel or you’ll have a really rattley chain

Does it ever go the other way? I’m struggling to think of a single band where I prefer the later stuff.

The Beatles? Sergeant Pepper generally regarded more highly than the poppier first albums
    The Beach Boys? Pet Sounds
    Nirvana? Bleach -> Nevermind

Oh yeah, the manic’s early EPs – Motown junk, you love us, all the courting of controversy. Went downhill with their first album 😁

Stereophonics first album was excellent. They’ve never matched ‘Local Boy in the Photograph’ since

    Exactly as @blackflag says

You have all your creative impulses from your entire life to draw on for your debut. You then get to hone it for a few years of constant touring / gigging. The wheat gets cut from the chaff over and over again. By the time you hit the studio its the culmination of years of graft and inspiration.

You then have 12 months to record your follow up…

The rest of their work, imo, just seems boring

Saw Grace Petrie as part of the Hatfield folk festival prior to Frank Turner being on as the headline

She was good wasn’t she. I’d neve heard of her before. ‘Black Tie’ was a hairs on the back of my neck moment…but Frank Turner was bloody brilliant…A circle Jig

Abba, saw one of the tribute bands at a festival. The music was much more powerful with live guitar and bass (and festival cider!!) than in a cheesy disci

I had a flint cut that plugs couldn’t seal, they got me home though

I patched with standard inner tube patched but they were too stretchy and the tyre bulged, and I could see tha patch – this made me nervous that th slightest nick on the trail would go though it.

I got this velux patch kit and patched the inside of the tyre using it. The patches are thicker and don’t stretch as much. Seems to be holding well

How do you judge the performance?
I use muc off, seems to never dry out
I’ve never had an issue with thorn punctures, there always seal
But I’ve had 3 cuts in the tread, in the last 2 yrs, probably from flint, 5-10mm, which have needed plugs to seal.
Would stans (or any other brand) have dealt with those without the need of a plug?

That being the case I’d duct tape it.

That’s what I’d do, lot easier to remove than the silicon

Has anything happened to scare her – getting lost? Getting hurt or scared on a recent walk? A sudden loud noise?

Can you use super high value treats near the edge of the garden to build up positive associations, then slowly move the treats over the border? Then don’t pressure her into a walk just hang around outside the garden building positive vibes with lots of praise and lots of treats

Of course that won’t help if she’s in pain

    Hope you solve it.

Have you tried setting Spotify to be the default music service for Alexa? – I haven’t but I hope that it would make Alexa play on Spotify when you say ‘Alexa play the birdie song’ and avoid you having to use clunky language like ‘Alexa ask Spotify to play the birdie song’

Download the Alexa App, go to Settings / Music And Podcasts

    Then link a Spotify account
Then click Default Services on the same screen and set Spotify to be the default

You will have to listen to Spotify adverts unless you have a paid for account

Wow, not watched this since the eighties. On betamax :-)
I’ve got to watch it again now.
I dont remember much of the film, but remember being very affected by it, the brutality and the manipulation.

When I went travellodge wanted £200 per night, I stayed at the Bessemer hotel for £60 with a nice breakfast.

they don’t allow bikes in rooms, they allow you to store them in function rooms or other spare rooms they have. Didnt seem as secure, but the entrance is staffed all night so probably ok, worked out ok for me anyway

I’m late to the party here but if you’re still looking for a screentime controller for Android – Google family link is the best I’ve found

Tried qustidio and a few others but they struggled to get round some of androids security – family link works well

Some valves come with different shaped rubber pieces, round and squarer profile ones for different shaped rims.

Could be the rubber piece is not matched to the profile of your time?

I’ve never heard of her of course, being 48, but bless her, she’s soooo nervous and keeps telling the audience this.
    Anyway, she’s cool and lovely

Watching this now. Thanks for the recommendation, so sweet isn’t she. Good songs too

So what’s with all the flags. How does anyone see the band?

Or is that why they have large screens next to the stage…kind of an arm’s race?
