Solicitors, lawyers, surveyors, estate agents…… professional leeches the lot of them. The whole house buying and selling mullarkey is so set up. All they do is pay each other to extract as much as they can out of their so-called customers.

Not a single honest person among them.

If you fancy a ride out now and then let me know. There are runs for all ages and fitness going on.

Just chose any old tyre in my experience; they will all run tubeless.

Probably “better” to go with UST or TLR – I currently run HD TLR on both my bikes and never have a problem with leakage or punctures.

When I asked TFT a similar question I came away with a Push Tuned Van RC (which I put a titanium spring on). The reason was that unless you know exactly what you are doing with all the tuning options on a CCDB or similar you are as well to get something simple.

So far it has served me perfectly. Fit and forget, service once a year.

Go down the river, cycle though leathley, head up the hill towards harrogate. Turn left down the track one field AFTER Cinder Lane – it’s called Coach Lane. Go through the gates to the road, head up the hill and immediate left alongside Hensan’s Beck. Road turns left towards Stainburn. Go past the first house on left and then head down access track through Coppice Wood. When you reach the first house turn right and contour round the hill. You’ll find an old track that drops down through a Beck and then up the other side, follow the line until you go through another beck then head u pthe to the top corner of the next field. At that point go through the gate and follow the line straight up the hill to the back of Buttoner House Farm. Join the road, go left to the back of Stainburn Wood (road goes 90 degrees left). Head into the woods, tale the second break to the left (45 degrees); first break left (tyre tracks) and then pop right before the end of the trees (you’ll see the gap through a splash). Follow the singletrack through the trees and you come out on the trail which if you turn left takes you to the road at the top of Norwood Edge.

    Easy 🙂

If you run Avid brakes you just use the brake lever. Not much use without the spacer if you don’t…

I had a session with Ed recently and all I can say was he is a great guy and made a real difference to the way I approach trail problems.

He has a great style and he is genuinely a really nice person to spend a day riding with.

I’m sure Jedi is equally as good; are we comparing apples with apples?

And as for the The Chop; just wish I could play the didge (at all).

If you park in Fewston / Swinsty res car park, head up the main road as if heading back to Timble cross roads (go past the two houses) you will come to a gravelled gate access after about 300m. Hop over the gate and take the entrance to the wood on the left after 10m or so.

It was built by Yorkshire Water to help grow access. It’s packed full of features but basically has no flow and too much going on. Nothing steep. If you want proper downs go to Stainburn.

Otley, far enough away from Leeds to have it’s own identity but still easy to commute in.

Been here 22 years now. Won’t be moving unless I have to.

The track from the D&P is not blocked off to cyclists – just cars/vans.

Just park for free in Tosside and enjoy the trails, you can get some food and a bevy at the D&P when he is open (fairly random)…

I will continue to support the landlord after he showed the way to The Slab to the ambulance and took our bikes back to the pub after my friend ended up helicoptered out.

Just go with the Flows; the EX is even wider / lower profile. My HD 2.35″ on the EX looks like an MX tyre.

I have a 456 Carbon with 150mm RLT Revs on. I use the adjuster… Climbing is locked out, trail/singletrack in the middle and d/hill wide open. Why deny yourself the travel? A good setup on the rear can also reduce / eliminate pedal bob. My Canyon Nerve AM with a VanRC rear is just “fit, setup and forget”…

I guess it depends on where you ride but nearly everywhere off-road has some tough stuff…

I have my bikes as “stated items” on my household policy with Esure. Very reasonable and will insure bikes of any value.

Well, they did when I renewed in April.

Just gaffer tape the top of your boots / socks to your legs. Stops water getting in which is the cause of most cold tootsies.

    Chris

PS. Saves having to shave that part of your leg too!!

I rather like my Nerve AM; although I’ve changed everything on it apart from the frame, forks, reverb and xtr rear mech!

I am strangely drawn to a Five 29 for some reason though……. 😉

I am 118kg, run my tubeless at 30 psi and have never had a problem with side walls. The only “puncture” I’ve had in two years was a rock slicing a Rocket Ron open on the outside of the tyre.

Sounds like there is something else going on to me. +1 for the rim having a problem.

750, so I can get through the gap in Stainburn woods singletrack to the east. I’m not alone, the two trees have almost got notches in them.

I had a Blue Pig X which simply would not hold a Reverb in place without stopping the seat post return. I sent it back (the frame) and got a full refund.

I really don’t know wht it wouldn’t hold it. Very thin steel walls in the seat tube, external seatpost shim to fit a clamp? I tried a Thomson, Nukeproof and Hope seat clamp none worked. Even after degreasing the frame and seatpost and adding a tube full of carbon paste…

Swapped to a Carbon 456 and no problem.

Don’t over tighten and don’t expect it to seal without sealant.

I got a full cash refund off CRC when I sent a Blue Pig X back – it couldn’t succesfully hold a Reverb without torqueing the seat clamp up so tight it crushed the Reverb and stopped the seat from returning to the high position.
