That’s just another threat and intended to scare you into paying.

Up to you whether you ignore it. My experience is these people hope you cough under threat. They can’t afford to chase every non-payer through the courts it costs them more than the fine.

I got a Clarks one from Machine Mart still works fine with no corrosion although I’ve not had it recalibrated.

Works components do them too, I have a 32t on my hard tail and it is jolly nice. And british.

The Bionicon Eco chain device attaches to the chain stay and does a good job.

Normally indicates the oil seal has leaked, definitely a warranty job. Good news is Fishers are excellent when it comes to Reverbs.

It’s the price, even the crap one is £300!!!!

Not a hope in hell of me affording one.

Without a doubt the worst trail map ever printed.

Let’s hope if there is a new one it’s actually of Dalby, unlike the current one.

I use the race matrix Ubers – no squeal and consistent feel. Don’t last long in winter conditions…..

Screwpull(tm) – very clever two stage system, very easy to use.

I have Shimano MW81 and they work well until it gets so wet the water gets in the top. Then it’s like paddling not pedalling…. 🙁

Did you need any special tools to service it yourself?

I have Flow EXs on my AM bike, I’m a total FB and I’ve had no flats, dings or other issues. Running tubeless so can’t comment on (why?) running them with tubes.

    Thanks all!

I have a wavey washer on the drive side so should keep the dust cap in place. I shall consider my options after your advice!

Never mind Paloma I still haven’t forgiven Jools for not actually filming it on NYE…!

Er, yes, I’d be willing if she was – have you seen her tattoo?

Maybe not exactly what you wanted but I fitted offsets to my bike and it did lower the b/b height. However, they squeaked interminably so I took them off.

I’ve had a Nerve AM for three years now, nothing ever gone wrong with it and still on the original suspension bearings which remain play free. I’d order a Spectral CF tomorrow if I had the money.

I just got E4’s to replace my on/off XT; fitted to a Canyon Nerve AM.

Very happy with the power and feel of them. I’m just an average fat bloke and they suit me fine.

Whilst this is probably no help at all I just fitted a Works Components slackset to my AM and it has made a significant difference to the handling.

Shorelines in Sheffield were doing Chromag 800mm carbon bars for £75 last week, 35mm though so you’d need a new stem too.

I use then on my full suss, they help get pedalling again more easily than the trad ones. Although I use the trads on my hardtail…

I’m with the OP. I want multi shift, push/pull on the upshift and with OneUp/TRex etc I can still get rid of the front mech (which I have done on my C456) and have a low enough gear for the steep bits.

Then it’s the expense; even though a bike might be a flipping bargain (e.g. top end Canyon etc) I just couldn’t warrant the price of replacing a worn out cassette.

Hi – I didn’t get any emails – I’m thinking my spam filter is taking on a mind of it’s own. My apologies.

    I’ll double check…

I’m just jealous you are getting one. Mrs B won’t let me – I have to spend my bonus on decorating, a sofa and carpet 🙁

I’ve ridden spds since they came out (yes, that old) and recently did a course where the tutor used flats and I was in my clips. I could see where my technique would have been better had I learnt to ride off road on flats so I bought some.

It’s a bot like learning to ski and then someone telling you to try snowboarding because it’s so much more fun… the switch can be painful as you spend the first few (very expensive) weeks on the pistes with a bruised ar$e.

I still have the flats, they are in a box where they belong. My technique was improved by the course but I still use spds.

I don’t think any form of pedal specifically makes you a bad or better rider; it’s how you ride the bike – the pedals don’t do that.
