I went up that gravel track but then turned left and went through/round the deciduous woods on the Bramhope side and out at the top then across the track where the felling has been taking plage. It is close to the house I mentioned in my previous post.

Ok. I call that Danefield. I was there yesterday afternoon, didn’t see anything untoward. I’ve let all my mates know so we’ll keep an eye out. Did anyone contact the rangers?

I ride on The Chevin weekly (I live in Otley) and I use lots of Singletrack all over it. Only ever been shouted at once and that was from the house at the back of Danefield on Bramhope Old Lane. If I ever meet anyone on a trail I always give way and I’ve never seen any traps as you describe. The fact that someone is now doing this is very worrying – simply not good enough.

Can you detail which trail was booby trapped please?

It was just I thought I’d read somewhere else about folk having a similar problem so if I asked I might have been able to sort it without covering myself and half of Yorkshire with goo.

I rang the same shop to see if they had the tyres I was after. Got the same advice, I’d be charged more if I went in there! Ordered them off Next Day instead.

Ordered from them on 9th Oct, email receipt acknowledged on 10th. Not delivered (normally very quick) & order doesn’t appear on my CRC account but the money has left my paypal. Tried to ring them today and “due to unforeseen circumstances” they are not answering the phone.

I do hope they haven’t been hacked again…….

Friend of mine fell off on The Slab at Gisburn on Good Friday and bent his thumb back. Apparently there’s a “plate” on the back of the thumb (second bone, not the scaphoid) that’s there to stop the thumb bending back. If you take it too far this breaks. He ended up in a special cast to stop the thumb bending backwards after surgery to sort it out. He’s still wearing the cast to ride….

I think you’re risking alot here youth. Get yourself to a hospital!!!!!!

It seems to refuse, physically, to extend any further. May have to have a fiddle with it.
