I’m good with a bit of pop but don’t fancy the inevitable hospital visit on trying to do a proper job.

Yes on the test – all clear second time round.

Weirdest part of the whole “experience” was the tugging sensation somewhere in my neck……

I had a new company car delivered yesterday Skoda Superb 2.0 TDi DSG SE Business. It’s very large, has a bigger boot than the Mondeo it replaced, very nice to drive and all the bells and whistles. If the older model is anywhere near as good then a second hand one should be a right bargain.

Chromag Squarewave. Most comfy grips I ever used.

Had mine for a year and loved riding it…time for a change for me so selling. It did go through shock bushes, but as some one else said, just consumable items. Otherwise, everything else was great.

    I saw this but I’m 6’2″……:(

That is a real deal and no mistake, interest free credit too……..#tempted! But how do I explain this to SWMBO?

Sold my 116K Mondeo Mk4 yesterday after seven years from new. Nothing went wrong until it hit 100k at which point I needed new front discs/pads. Then the air con condenser went, then the aircon compressor and the final straw was the offside drive shaft. It was virtually faultless until over £1300 repairs in a year meant it was bye bye time. Waiting on a new Skoda Superb SE Business DSG Estate (company car).

I live in Otley, been here 23 years now. It’s a great small town with all mod cons but only a bus ride out of Leeds. You can also get the train from Menston and there’s a regular bus link to the station.

The people are friendly, there’s off-road riding within five minutes, you are only an hour from the proper Dales and there’s Gisburn and Stainburn (closer) within easy distance. I ride out and take Stainburn in for a bit of teeth jarring fun.

I once got into a twitter argument with Maconie after I suggested his show was rubbish. He really took the hump!

Are they actually better than the non inline or other shocks though
I would hazard a guess as yes, by a fair margin.

Any weight limit on these – I heard they don’t suit the more portly rider…..?

Me. Windows 10 just kept randomly locking my PC. Screen froze, mouse froze, only solution was power off and restart. I even changed my graphics card to see if that helped. It worked ok in safe mode but all my drivers are up to date so clearly some incompatibility.

Rather disappointed because I liked W10.

I’ll be dibbing you in at the finish; good luck!

Weather is looking excellent, not sure how dry under foot/wheel it will be but otherwise great.

I’ve experienced this in the past as the Secretary of an MTB Club and several other incarnations going back over the years.

These things take off due to the passion and enthusiasm of a select few. These people do their best to make it happen and when it’s successful lots of other people are more than happy to take advantage and join in – but not help. Then when things grow to a point where the individual is not sufficient resource and insurance gets involved (read liability) the same people who took advantage sit around criticising and doing nothing to help. And then even complaining the people who gave them their pleasure are to blame somehow!!

Good luck to SP, thanks to him for all his efforts. If people want the UKGE to continue – step up and do something yourself.

PS. I’ve never set a tyre anywhere near a UKGE or other event – way too soft for that hard stuff.

The Wipperman link is expensive, reusable and comes apart without the need for pliers. I have them on all my two bikes… with shimano 10 spd chains.

It’s not a walk out story more I wish the interviewee had done so. I was working for the EA at the time and was interviewing for a post where I’d had 100+ CVs. Having boiled it down to six candidates I was looking forward to some good conversations.

My first question was “Why do you want to work for the EA?” to which one of the candidates replied “I have a friend works for you in Exeter and I’ll be able to email them.” (It was a while ago). We both then wasted a further 30 minutes.

If it was you I hope you got on OK after that.

I once went to Glororum Campsite near Bamburgh; arriving on Thursday night before Easter weekend we were instructed to pitch next to the chemical disposal point. By Friday night we were completely surrounded by other people and unable to get our car out without asking other people to move theirs. The noise of shrieking kids until midnight was astonishing. Told them my daughter was ill and left Sat morning with a refund…

I’ve had an 08 model since new. It’s done 110K now. I only replaced the front pads this year, the rear trailing arm bushes are a weakness and go quite early, good news is you can get pattern bushes now instead of having to replace both arms with Ford items for rather a lot of money. They wear the tyres on the inside edge where you can’t see them. You are best off with the 16″ wheel model, my friend has one with 17″ wheels and it eats tyres. It’s fast enough, does 45mpg and I will be keeping mine until it’s beyond economic repair.

All antidepressants would do is (after they make you temporarily feel waaay worse) insulate you from the feelings of stress. They won’t sort out your work life balance or stop your employer taking it for granted that you work every waking hour.

If you find it hard to address this with your employer find someone you can trust to accompany you – doesn’t even need to be a colleague – when you discuss how work is affecting you.

I gave up in the mid 90’s after the third collarbone break, the quack said if I broke them again I risked severing the brachial nerve.

I took up climbing and then kite buggy racing (went to the World Champs representing England in 2010 :D). When the second child arrived I couldn’t fit all the kite gear and my family in the car so went back to MTBing.

So far, no further broken collar bones, pretty convinced the modern full suss is accountable, my bike has got me out of deep trouble on a couple of occasions when a 90’s hard tail would have killed me.

I’m 51 and get it too. I find a patellar knee strap worked really well. Got mine off Amazon for less than a tenner.

I had to wait a bit longer for my slackset than I anticipated but it arrived and with a spare pair of bearings foc by way of apology.

I think you’ll be OK, patience is a virtue I’m told.

They are very easy to bleed and the SRAM videos are good. Whenever mine have “gone” it’s been the top bush that has worn out; that’s a full strip down to replace. 🙁

Having said that Fishers warranty on Reverbs is excellent, they seem to have a no quibble replacement policy – probably down to the time and cost of repairing them…

Using a Zee with the RADr cage and it is indeed the most sensitive mech to cable tension I’ve ever used. It just isn’t linear, I’m on a 11-42t 1×10 OneUp conversion and it just cant get the mid-range shifting click-on. Starting to think I need to switch out to SLX/XT GS at (more) expense than I’d bargained for.

Anyone know if Saint suffers the same?

Using an M785 XT chainset, no “outside” to the spider.

Ended up with E13 bolts off CRC, seem to be doing the job.

Thanks for all the advice 🙂

Because OneUp provided them? I’m assuming it’s down to the Q factor but if you know different please do help. (:O)
