I left the Alpine bar about 30mins ago and the Criou is awesome. Try Kwack next time, it’s rocket fuel. Heading for Les Gets in the morning. It’s our first time out here with Bike Alp and loving every minute!

I’m booked in for Monday morning and can’t wait. I had never heard of him until I joined this forum and only ever read good things. He’s a legend as far a I can work out and feel very lucky to have the chance to be taught by a pro. I had a 1/2 day wake boarding lesson by a local pro last year and he changed everything I did. More confidence meant bigger air jumps and less crashes. Let’s Hope monday has the same effect.

My inlaws live there for the summer and we visit (mail land) for a couple of weeks every year. It’s got really expensive to eat and shop over the past few years. Amazing country and we won’t stop going as we don’t pay for accommodation.

From the carpark head north between the cars and after 10 mins you will reach the southdowns way. Turn left and in 10ft turn left into the woods and take the right hand trail. You’ll find a good 1 1/2 hours riding in there but some of it is hard to find. Also if you ride out of the car exit and head right, take the 3rd exit on roundabout and there is a trail 50 yards on the left. It ends up at Slindon 4×4 course. Can’t do this weekend or would join you.

I’d be looking at either your 3 port valve. Sounds like the micro switch isn’t making on hot water or faulty cylinder stat. When hot water is on, you should have 240v on the orange wire coming from the 3 port. The fault isn’t the boiler.

I have a 56 A6 and although I don’t put my bike in it, I’ve found the boot to be huge. Our old A4 struggled with anything more than a pushchair, but the A6 will take everything but the kitchen sink. We love the car and would happily have another one. FYI, I tried the 2L and found it under powered. I brought the 2.7 and it has plenty of power.

I’m having my first dealing with them at the moment and really NOT impressed. Brought a pair of CB Iodine wheels and the bearings have gone in 4 months. 2Pure said would get some in, but never did. They gave me the bearing sizes so I could order some myself, but they gave me the wrong sizes. They never answer the phone and still waiting for a reply to emails from 2 weeks ago. I’ve complained to CB USA and now have the correct bearings sent from the US. Now I’m trying to get some spare spokes from them, and guess what? They can’t find any. Also the free hub has gone and no reply to that email either.

Maybe not all down to 2Pure,but no more Crank Brothers good for me!!

The owners for the Black Lion pub have a lovely cottage just 50m from the pub and the start if the Red trail. It’s called Cothi View. Google Gorlechtrail.com. The pub serves extremely good home cooked food too. Or try Brechfa bunk if you’re on a budget.

Built this last month at a cost of just over £4300. The best thing I have ever ridden. Yes its expensive but totally worth every penny. Can’t go wrong with a Heckler.

Search the forsale forums as I found new X0 2 x 10 shifters for £70. Bargain.

What is the boiler make and model? If its a combination boiler ( hot water on demand ) then its working correctly. With oil boilers, the heat transfer into the hot water is slow due to time it takes a oil boiler to reach full working temp. The boiler will keep a small amount of stored hotwater, so when you turn on the tap you don’t have to wait 5 mins to get hot water. This store is always kept hot so the boiler will fire with no demand on it.

If its not a combi, then yes, check the frost stat.
    Hope this helps.

I’m a heating engineer down on the South Coast and the going rate around here is £200 – £225 per day + VAT. Boiler wise, either Vaillant or Glow worm, They are both made in the same factory pretty much. There is nothing wrong with the Worcester Bosch but I find it hard to get my hands inside to service them so don’t fit them.

Anybody fancy a Full Carbon Argon 18 Krypton?? She’s fitted with full Veloce and is in immaculate condition. Size large. I brought it to do the London to Paris charity ride on and now have no use for it. High spec. Just had service.

    £1000.00 posted.
    Email in profile if interested.

    Cheers

Have just tried my new 2.4 Evo snakeskin Nobby Nics at Afan. Full of very wet roots and rock. Totally amazed. Awesome tyres.

I’m 6 foot and have just built a lime green Heckler. It fits me perfectly. I’m running a pair of 2012 Crank brothers Iodine wheels and have no flex. I have the RP23 and leave it fully open all the time as it doesn’t really bob much. Fork wise, I’m running Fox Talas RC2 160mm. Talas are great as you can drop them down to 130mm for climbing. The bike has given me so much confidence its un-real. Would strongly recommend 36mm forks with 20mm axle. I’ve had loads of bikes in the past and can’t compare any of them to the heckler. Be careful if you’re going to run 2 x 10 as the chain rings tend to hit the rear sus pivot. Will try and post some pics

Or carry on the M4 for another 40 minutes and try the trails at Brecfa. Awesome Black (Raven) and red route. Then finish it off with a beer in the Black Lion at the bottom of the red!! Perfect day!!

I use a henry for work as a heating engineer. It collects brick dust, soot, screws, pens and anything else that gets in its way. They’re awesome. We have thrown the Dyson at home and got a Hetty.

    Big up the Henry!!
