I do !!! Used them for 2 years including 2 Alps trips. They survived with no issues. I don’t take the best lines either and I had a few hard landings on them. Ran them on a Heckler with Fox 36 and even after a few big road gaps they stayed true and straight. I also hit a car sized rock at 30mph which broke the forks, but the wheels were fine. The only issue I ever had was the bearings kept going. I would strongly advise taking spare bearings and spokes as you will not find them anywhere. Jake at 2pure should be able to sort you out. Have recently changed them to Mavic SX as the CB didn’t convert to a 142 rear. Chris

I have 2 pairs and love them. Only brought the 2nd pair as they were going cheap. They’ve done 2 years so far with a couple of Alps trips to. I throw them in the washing machine once a month and they are still like new. They grip to my Vaults like #### to a blanket and give good support. They are pretty heavy but they feel solid. The sole is only just showing signs of wear and I reckon it’ll be another 2 year before the 2nd pair come out of the box.

    Hope that helps

My feeling are that with a little TLC and some advertising – it could be a great little business. You’re never going to make millions, but it could be a good income in with a great lifestyle. Owning something like that isn’t really about the money tho is it!

I brought the 661 pressure suit in the crc sale for £110. It’s the blue and black one. Very impressed so far. Very comfy and well ventilated. I’m 6’1 and went for the Large. I had a hard fall at BPW on a rock garden at speed over the bars and never felt a thing. Hope that helps

Just googled Tubgirl as I couldn’t resist. OMG that is foul. I think a little bit of sick just came up!

Now deleting history and cookies from the IPad before the wife and 4 year old finds it!

Going back to Sameon ( near Morzine ) with Bike Alp again Been the past 2 years and amazing riding. Sameon is full of beautiful natural stuff and Morzine and Les Getz are just over the ridge if you want to go.

Luffy105 – I’m not fit in any way. I brought a carbon road bike a week before (never ridden a road bike before) and just went for it. Sold it 10 days after we finished. Take lots of gels / choc as most of the route in France is in the arse end of nowhere. The first day (uk) is the worst by far and it gets much better, smoother in France! Awesome bar to the left of the Eiffel Tower to greet you at the end too.

I’ve done this a couple of times now with a group of 10 -15 of us. We downloaded the gPS from all Londres-Paris.com.

We done it in 4 days but if you’re fit, it’s 3 days of hard riding. Choose your hotels well before and book in advance.

We had a support driver and used them on both trips. Personally, I wouldn’t do it without one.

What you need is my 2011 Heckler frame that I have forsale to go with those nice Lyriks Rob has forsale!! I ran mine with 36 Talas and built it for the Alps. It came in at 33lb and still climbed well even with 1×10. Just got a bit fitter.

Make sure you tell your insurance company that you are doing a renovation as standard insurance will not cover you if attempting things yourself and they go wrong! We’re now on our 6th renovation and just about to start a renovation business. I don’t do work for other people apart from what I’m trained in( gas/oil/plumbing) but I do all plumbing, tiling, structural (via structural engineer) bathrooms, kitchen, groundwork, plaster boarding (plastering to a good standard is a back art!) and most other stuff. I have a great team of people I call on for other stuff. Once finished, we sell and buy another. Sometimes we live in them for a few months after until on convince e wife to go again!!

The more you do, the more confident you’ll get. Try everything apart for gas/ electrics like everybody else says

    Oh, and…..
    TAKE YOUR TIME!!

I’m on my 2nd T5 and totally love it. I’ve had vito’s too but they don’t compare to the VW IMO. I just paid 13995 + Vat for a 2009 2.5 130 6 speed. I’m a heating engineer and use it for work and play. It’s not the best on fuel, but today booked it in for a re-map, so will hopefully get better.

Other vans are better on paper for far less money, but they aren’t a T5. Lots of friends have brough Vivaros, transits etc but all now wish they went for the VW.

Easy to turn into campers as there are plenty of companies who do it or buy the parts from eBay and DIY. My first one was the first T5 on a 53 plate and it cost me 000’s in repairs. Turbo pipes, drive shafts, fuse box caught fire, central locking failed and it was serviced every 10k too. I just put it down to bad luck and brought my current one.

Will post a pic when I get chance.

Around 33 on a good run. 2009 T5 2.5 130bhp. We do have a lot of roundabouts here tho. Still contemplating a re-map!

We were in Sameon in the Alps back in June and the Renault Alpine club had their annual meeting outside the pub we were in. Beautiful looking cars and mostly painted in Blue. Google has pics of the new one that’s coming out and it’s even nicer than the original ( I think).

We have the same problem with our 4 year old. He’s up between 5 and 5.30 every morning. We brought a grow clock and it started to work, but now he has worked out how to unlock it and make the sun come up. He now has a CD player in his room with a story cd in it. We’ve taught him use that now so be listens to it until 6 when him jumps on our bed.

Later nights don’t work either. He’s like a dog and needs lots of exercise every day.

We’ve learnt to deal with it now but it’s hard as our 3 month old doesn’t wake until 7.30.

During summer months it’s fine as we go out on his scooter or play in the garden, but at this time if year it’s hell !

    Good luck OP.

I’ll check the ERG when I get back from Wales on Sunday but I have a feeling I’ll be spotless.

Any recommendations on Remapping down south ( Sussex/Hampshire)

Sharkattack – loving the van so far compared to my old T5. The best van I’ve ever had!

Thanks Sharkattack, somebody I know mentioned this and said it made a massive difference. £300 sounds pretty good for a rolling road map.

The novelty/grin factor is just wearing off after coming from a 84 hp to a 130hp. I’m actually pretty impressed by the power the thing has seeing the amount of tools I carry. The 6 speed box helps massively!

Going up with a guy called Kev Harris and his brother Roger. He rides a NS Soda and has just recovered from breaking his collar bone at Steyning. We’re leaving bright and early sat AM and staying near the park ready for Sunday. We met some local guys in Sameon France back in June! We’re taking over the world!!

A year or so after meeting my now wife, she was away for the weekend with some girlfriends. A few glasses of red later I decided to balance the phone on the dressing table and take a cheeky naked shot of myself and texted it to her phone. A rapid phone call back with lots of laughing and it was totally forgotten about….. Until about 3 years later when my mums mobile died. I gave her a spare and thought nothing of it until I got a call a few weeks later when she was showing her friends some snaps she had just taken!! My full naked photo was still on there!
    How embarrassing?!?!

Also not happy with my Renthal Kevlar, seem ok in dry conditions but super slippy in mud. For the price and the hype, I was expecting more. Gone back to Lizzard skins.

We brought a 2007 (57) Smax 2.0 D Titanium on the bay last week for £8500 it’s covered 56k with full history. Even came with a Thule bar system that the guy though in. It’s doing well over 40 mpg and although I’m missing my Audi A6 V6, it’s a very good car. Ample room inside although you need to be pretty small to use the pop up rear seats. For 130bhp is reasonably lively when you’re on your own.

I found a crack on my 2010 36 Talas earlier in the year. Mojo had replaced the CSU’s about 14 months before due to wear on a Stanton. I sent them back and they replaced them FOC!

The previous time was £360 including bushes. They sometimes come up in eBay so maybe worth keeping an eye out.

Cheers for the comments guys. I’ve only ridden it briefly but going to UK bike park this weekend. It’ll spend most of its life doing uplift days and a few weeks in the Alps. Sorry about the 2 pics, I copied and pasted the incorrect photo on the second one.
