+ 1 wet and forget. I did our patio 5 days ago and already, the moss/green has gone. No brushing, no washing and the dog is still alive too! Going to do the shed, fence and anything else that looks a little green when we have a dry day. You only need 6 hours of dry weather after application.

I’ve recently started a cycle repair workshop/company and typically have just binned loads of bits. I’m more than happy to keep the bits from here in and send them up. Instead of doing it every few days, I can wait until I have a box full?(although I can see things slowing up soon!)

I have literally just read this and checked our upcoming NZ flights. Emirates have just charged me £384 for book seas for my family. Tried Live chat to see if it was absolutely necessary, and the reply was, that they can’t guarantee us being sat together without paying. I’m sure it would have been fine, but my wife didn’t want to risk it!
There goes my new Hope brakes this month then!!

Buy the Kenashii kit from Amazon. Heat the wax for 3 mins in the microwave, twiddle the plastic stick in the wax and shove it up your nose. Count to 90 and pull very hard. Just make sure the kids aren’t around for the first time as the language was a little ripe when I first did it. Just make sure you don’t pull out early as the stick comes out and leaves the wax in your nose and needs to be cut out with very sharp scissors!!! It’s less painfully the second time around!! And make sure you pull hard!!

Definitely try Pilates. Don’t do leisure centre classes with 30 other people as it’s all down to form and a incorrect form could make it worse. Find a small local group or if you can afford it 1 to 1 in a studio using a reformer (looks like a torture bed). My wife is a Pilates teacher and the reformer will do wonders for you. She’s based in Chichester if you are local and we have a studio at home for 1 to 1s. I thought I had a good core until I started using the reformer!!

Have you tried the 2 X 2mm Allen key bolts at the rear of the shock that hold the bearing casing in? That’s where the knocking was coming from on my Bronson.

It’s been 6 years since I was Oftec registered, but Grant were always the benchmark for oil boilers. I’ve fitted loads of the outside models with no issues at all. Seeing that they are Irish, I’d say availability should be pretty good. They always use to use the Riello burner, which 6 years ago was the best on the market. Also, Photo cells are very common to replace and the nozzle should be replaced on every service to continue Efficient combustion.

We’ve just spent a few nights at Watergate Bay hotel in Cornwall. Beautiful hotel. Our room had a roll top bath in the massive bay window overlooking the beach. Highly recommended

That photo looks like you are trying to insert it on the wrong side. The clip goes between the glass and the gasket, NOT the gasket and the plastic trim. You won’t get anything down that side.

They look about the same to be honest. I also fitted them in a rental property we have and the gasket was massive. I just increased the clip size with some insulation tape and they work a treat. The clips are pointed to aid them sliding in.

We have them and I’m super impressed. They look and work like something much more expensive. I put a little water on each gasket clip to help it slide in. Don’t use washing liquid etc as they slide out when you fit the blinds. Also, keep the blind tapped up as supplied while fitting or it will fall on your head!! It took me 40 mins to fit all 5 on our bifolds. We went for the Teflon ones and they are super tough. Great value for money compared to other bifold options.

West Wittering is not 10 minutes away unless you have a helicopter

I was trying to sell him chichester not LA, which is 10mins from West Wittering.

Personally, I wouldn’t as the others have suggested. Arundel is lovely and a good base. I’m in Chichester and also a great base. West Wittering beach/East head is 10mins away (traffic depending) and Arundel/Portsmouth docks etc are 20mins. We also have the Southdown national park and Goodwood right on our door step. It’s an hour to the New Forest and only 1.30hrs to Dorest and the Jurassic coast. Some lovely local rides too if you’re bringing bikes, along with a cycle path to the beach via Chichester harbour.

I’ve had 2 sets of Hope E4’s for 4 years now and never had a problem until my trip to the Alps last week. Each day, the lever would go soft and after some investigation it seems that the calliper is moving Over to one side causing the pads to touch the disc at different times. Re aligning sorted it out, but it kept happening. I too think it’s a lazy piston and in the Alps, the force in the brakes was massive and moved the calliper. When I get round to rebuilding the bike from the bike bag I’ll clean and lube the pistons with the hope it rectifies the problem. Just don’t try and tighten the calliper bolts any further or your next thread will be a ‘how to helicoil a fork’.

@bluebird, a few months in and loads of riding, I’m more than happy with my choice. The bike just doesn’t have limits. I’m running a 50mm stem and the new Deity skywire bars with a 15mm rise. One thing I have found is that the back end is so good at small bump compliance, that it made the FoX 36 feel a little harsh. I fitted a Lufftkappe to them last week and now they are amazing. I have just stripped her and put her in a bag ready for the Alps on saturday. I’ll let you know how it does out there.

We’ve just got back from Constantine Bay and stayed at Martha’ Orchard. It’s at the top of the beach road (5-10 min walk to beach) and was perfect. We had a 6 person lodge with hot tub and I was extremely impressed. The lodge was massive and really quiet. Would thoroughly recommend. Also only a 10 min drive from Padstow.

I’ve done just that. Had the V2 cc and now have the V3 cc. Personally, I think there is a big difference. I’m just over 6ft and the V2 in L was great. After 3 years of owning i though, I felt the TT could have been longer and the standover a little lower for Alps/steep stuff. The V3 covers both of these. It also descends more confidently with loads more grip at the rear. By doing this, I think SC have slightly sacrificed pedal abilities, but only very slightly.
I rode the V3 Nomad before I brought this one and yes it was fast downhill, but it just wasn’t as fun as the Bronson. It’s super stable in the air like my old Nomad too (V2). I reckon it’s slightly heavier too. Not totally sold on the RockShox super deluxe RTc shock, but I’ll Use it until it breaks. Glad I did it…..totally, but I also like shiny new things!

Also make sure the pistons are pushed fully back as air can get stuck behind them. Also make sure the BPC screw is fully out. Once bled, check the caliper is correctly aligned as this will make the lever feel spongy too.

Love my E13 TRS 9-46. Not cheap but givs you 512% apparently. Works fine with 30t front.

You haven’t had much luck with this frame have you Dave?? Have you checked the bearings on the back of the shock? I traced that knocking on mine to that. Removed them, greased and now blissfully silent!

Have you asked PandS to see if they’ve had any issues?

Unfortunately as said above, Steve and Bike-Alps have relocated. Try Jamie at ridethealps. He doesn’t live in the village, but does all his guiding in and around Samoens. Lifts don’t open until the 2nd weekend in July tho. The bike shop opposite the lift station on the round about will be happy to mark trails on a map for you and they speak English. The main trails are marked ish, but the best is off piste local built trails.

The EWS trail is amazing. Bike-alp knew they guys who dug it and we were able to ride it 3 days before the race.

It’s what Bear said.  The micro switch isn’t activating in CH.  the valve is moving to Ch but not firing the boiler.  It will work in CH and HW mode as the boiler is firing from the cyclinder stat.

Easy to change the motor as he said.

My 9 year old has a Marin Bayview 24 with WTB disc rims and i’m Really impressed with them.  The forks were rubbish so I lowered a set of Fox 32 130s down to 100mm and they work a treat.  I’m currently  building a XS Orange 5 26er for him for Xmas as he wants to race next year.

@milko9000 I only rode it for 40mins on a demo day, but noticed the difference in the down and technical trails.  It seemed to climb just as well as the V2 but way far more sturdy and planted on the downs.  The longer wheelbase really helps.  I’m just over 6ft and the only two things I wanted to change about my V2 was a lower standover and a longer toptube.  The V3 has sorted this almost as if SC heard what I was saying!!  I had an email today from the SC rep as I collared him at Peaty’s gig Last week and he has told me that my frame is now in the country and will be with me this week!! I’ll let you know how it rides on longer stuff.

@milko9000. I’ve just sold my Bronson V2 frame and tried the Nomad V4 and the new V3 Bronson.  Both very different bikes.  The Nomad is very gravity orintated and does it extremely well, but for me it took the fun out of the trail.  Yes you get to the bottom of the run extremely quickly, but it didn’t put a massive smile on my face.  The V3 Bronson however was the most playful bike i’ve ridden.  The new shock position makes it extremely planted in the corners, but allows you to pop off anything in your way.  It also have the benefit of climbing extremely well too.  SC change the frame designs every 3 years and it’s only the colours that change annually.

I’m on my 5th one when it arrives.  Yes they are expensive, but no more than the equivalent Yeti, intense, evil etc.  Build quality is second to none along with the paint finish.  Free bearings for life and a fantastic crash replacement programme.  I have just sold my Bronson v2 frame which was perfect until I demoed the V3 and fell in love with it. I’ve had plenty of other make and for me, nothing comes close.  I think they have priced their bikes very well with a Alu frame at £1800 including a life time warranty.

    I have a reverb B1 in the classifieds, but it’s 150mm.

I have just brought a One up dropper as the reviews look great. My LBS have been using them and say they are faultless.  You can shim them down to 120mm extremely easily and come in at £200 with a carbon lever.

Recently sold our mk7 GTD DSG and brought a mk 7 GTI performance DSG and what a difference.  Managed 39.9 to the Sounth of France last month and now sat at around 35mpg which I think is pretty good seeing it’s 50+bhp more than the GTD.  We tried the BMW, Audi A3 and also the Merc 250AMG but the GTI was the better drive out of all of them.

Our is spec’d with the DCC suspension which does make a noticeable difference.

VW gave me a track day when I brought it and I spent the morning driving it around Goodwood last week and wow!! Smiles for miles!!

We have a little jump pack from Amazon. It’s about 8inches x 4 inches and comes with a tiny jump lead.  We use it for changing iPads/phones when away and never thought it would jump a car.  Apparently it turns over a 3L diesel or a 4L petrol engine.  It spun my 2.5 T5 over this morning and also started a 3.5tonne digger a few weeks back. Very impressed.

Black flag – that’s one of my problems too. I like shiney new things and that’s where the new Bronson fits in!   I might go to a trail center this weekend and try and find one to try!!

I’ve not directly been with them, but i’ve Ridden with Jamie a few times in and around Samoens.  He’s a really nice guy and a very capable rider.  His local riding is amazing too and won’t disappoint.

We did this last week.  I too would recommend using Google maps for Rouen as our incar sat nav had a bit of a wobble through the town.

Wessex Vans in Bournemouth did mine.  Really impressed.  They gave me all the paperwork for changing the V5 too.  I insure via AdrianFlux.

Most of the trails have been listed above apart from a Whiteways.  Nothing much, but a really nice loop about 15mins away.  The Riders Guild do a shop ride every other Thursday at either Whiteways or QECP.

Peaslake in the Surrey hills is 1 hr away.   A group of us regularly do a uplift day to Windhill, BPW or FoD that you would be welcome to join.

My wife is also a Pilates teacher and has a simple website soulbalancepilates.co.uk which states class times etc.  People then contact her for more info.  She sends out an email at the start of each term and payment is made via Bacs or cash.   People can also buy a bulk amount of tokens from her that can be redeemed at anytime and any of the venues she teaches at.  All she asks is that you let her know that you intend to join them the day before so she can confirm spaces.

Most of the group mat sessions are poeple of the older generation, so don’t really use the website or know how to transfer online.  We now have a studio at home with equipment in and that is mainly younger people or re habilitations who pay for a block of 1:1’s.

I had a go on the strange looking torture machine in her studio last week and couldn’t move he following day!! Not as easy as you may think!!

Best of luck to your wife

I haven’t used that one, but I changed the bearings in my Bronson recently and used a long 6mm bolt.  Some various sized washers, a socket the same size as each bearing and a few 6mm nuts.  It worked a treat and cost less than a fiver.  I’m not normally one to bodge, but wasn’t going to pay for the SC tool at that price.

If you are under Building regs, then the extractor needs to vent outside.  As you are adding the extension, then regs will apply.  We have a Caple one with a exterior fan that sucks rather than blows as you get more l/min.

DrP.  Both look good and a way around the extraction is a downdraft extractor, but you need to put the vent pipe in before screed.  If i’m Correct, you live pretty close to me and we have just had a kitchen supplied and fitted by Freestyle in Chichester.  They also have a branch in Broadwater. They are German kitchens made by keller.  Very very impressed with ours.

Had mine done 16weeks ago and now waiting to get the all clear letter.  No regrets what so ever.  I took it easy for the first 2 days and then went back to normal work, but not lifting much.  I booked a weekend at BPW for 10 days after the op and had no pain on a bike what so ever.  I did have a small crash on 50 shades and feared for my sack, but all was good.  I had no swelling or bruising at all and no issues 16 weeks down the line.

OP – I did the same and brought a axle kit. Let me know if you get stuck as I think I have one in the spares box.
