I’ve just noticed that a lot of rock stars seem to be a bit podgy currently.
They can’t be trying hard enough.

If you can sneeze without screaming then they’re just bruised. 😀

You’ll realise just how often you’re torso muscles tense up just by standing still. That alone is bloody painful.

A friend had a stove and liner fitted for about £1900. It was a fairly simple job without problems. It’s a Fireline 5kw and seems brilliant.

I fitted my Aarrow Ecoburn 5 and liner this winter myself which needed me to put a concrete hearth in. Got it signed off by building control. Equally brilliant. £240 🙂

Of course your time may be better spent than mixing concrete, wrestling with a razor sharp steel liner that wont budge whilst on a roof ladder. (There’s a reason fitters insist on scaffold.)

Anyone thinking about doing it yourself and like a challenge then as long as you research it then do it.

Just finished fitting my own a few weeks ago. Lined it but didn’t use insulation as it’s a mid terrace and the chimney is on the party wall.
I understood the thinking behind lining a chimney for a stove was that some were originaly designed for open fires where alot of the heat goes up the chimney creating draw. Anyway, house is now toasty. 🙂
As for the paper work, you just get your building control guy to check everything as you go along if fitting yourself. I hear some local authorities aren’t keen on this for some reason though.

I’ve already told her about all the naughty stuff she could do now. 🙂

She may well be adopted then – far more common than people think

Well. She knows she was sent off to live with an aunt in Ireland until she was 2 year old and back to live with her mother (who she’s the spit of). It’s very complicated and her only close living relative is her brother who’s 5 year older and doesn’t know much more.

Strange that she was able to have things like passports etc in the past though. Now. Nothing.

She’ll need to go to the actual office where she was registered. Along with parents details, etc.
Anyone can order a copy if they have those details and pay the fee.

She’s done all that. There’s nothing about her.

I think the girlfriend will be going down the bangernomics route in future. A local garage are wanting just over £1000 for replacing gear box bearings and a clutch plate. This on a 5 year old petrol Zafira. 😡

The shortest measureable moment in time known to man is the period between the first note of the Archers theme tune and my launching across the kitchen to **** the retune button on the radio.

That and the words “what do you think, Mr Ed Balls…”

Ha. Love R4 and listen most of the time but need to get the radio turned down/off/smashed before that bloody music comes on. 🙂

Don’t know about the C720 but got the girlfriend an C710 2mb with the 16gb ssd for christmas and it’s great. You can get the same model but with a 360gb hard drive if you need a lot more storage offline but the one I got her has an sd slot anyway, so I’m glad I went for ssd model. Very fast. Hogging it as I type. 😀

    Got it from Argos btw.

I’d always heard they were long and couldn’t decide on large or medium after coming from a large P7 which was a big bike. Eventually went for a large Soul and glad I did as it seems noticeably shorter than the Orange.

Very envious of all these perfect kids on here. I’ll swap you for 2 of the 3 foster kids we look after and see how long it takes before you want to ring there bloody necks. 😀

Not been up there for a while but if you can find your way up to Pilgrims Cross you can drop down a nice bit of singletrack to the firing range and on to Edgworth or from the Cross going the other way a nice long descent to Robin Hoods Well and either carry on down a fast downhill to Helmshore or back up Bull Hill to the trig point and back down to the Cross.

Wouldn’t mind showing you myself but working tomorrow.
There are a few on here that know it better than me though.

You need to prepare them really well first. Give it a good washing down with sugar soap and don’t miss any bits. It’s a kitchen so they’ll be full of grease. Then sand it all down with fine grade sand paper.
If you skimp on these two parts then you may as well not bother.
You don’t need to limit yourself to the likes of Ronseal Cupboard paint as you buy something like Dulux Super Grip Primer and then your choice of a good Eggshell finish in whatever colour you want. Should last you years, done right.

When I plug mine into the charger without it being plugged into wall it also lights green but turns red when it’s connected to the wall socket. Don’t know if that is of any help.

Read this in the local comic. Excellent news and great to hear Ride On being involved. Didn’t realize the local bridleways were being properly upgraded as well rather than the usual “chuck some gravel on it” approach.

Just mounting with the O-rings for now. They’re simple and stay in place.

Had mine for about 3 weeks and just done 10 mile in the pissing rain and so far, so good. Wrapped the battery in amalgamating tape to waterproof it first though.

Looking at an Aarrow Ecoburn 5. Heard lots of good things about them.
I’m not a total scrote. Just tucking in to my home made steak, stout and cheese pie. Yumm……. And Strongbow 🙂

I was lucky getting my Soul at the price I did as it’s very tidy. I wanted one before I got the P7 but Cy had sold out on large frames. My 07 P7 was a fantastic bike, hefty at around 28 pounds even with a good build and 130 Rock Shox forks. More of a steady away bike. Had it as a single speed for a few years as well. Then some scrote pinched it.
So I’d been looking at all sorts of other steel frames like Pipedream, Genisis, Dialled and even thought about getting a full sus but as soon as this Soul came up for sale on Ebay I had to have it.
Some people like a smaller size with the Soul but at 6 foot, large is spot on for me. With 100mm Fox Floats on it’s a very quick spritely bike up and down. Get one if you can.

The X3 is more War of the Worlds. Get the Wall-E. Friendlier and more than enough light.

Just got my hands on a s/h Cotic Soul and no problems with chain suck so far and the chain stays look fine apart from a bit of missing paint (no gouges). Had a P7 for a few years which I loved but the Soul is a good bit lighter and flys. 🙂

You’ll need a DEFRA approved wood burner most likely. Unless you want to burn smokeless fuels. About to get and fit one myself.

So u would buy another battery just because of the sealing!!

Erm. If they are only going to last a few wet rides then yes. But if you say they are better than every one is say then great.

    Never heard of silicone sealant

Yep. Just thought the tape would do a better job for electricals.

Will probably end up getting a better battery as the sealing on mine looks a bit useless to say the least. A bit of thin black plastic wrapped round with exposed card on the end. I’ll have to call at screwfix tomorrow for some self amalgamating tape and wrap it up well in that. Will see how I get on.

How about a commercial td5 disco without the rear seats?
I’m after another disco cause I can do any tinkering my self and parts are fairly cheap and plentiful.

There’s a good one from Dunsop Bridge taking in Whin Fell and Dunsop Fell. Do it when it’s been dry for a few days if your scared of mud though. It includes a scary drop off to one side on a big descent to keep you focused.

Did mine a couple of year ago. It had stone flags plonked on the soil and we had puddles every time it rained so I dug it out and concreted with a damp proof membrane underneath and having a simple ventilation pipe. I just painted the walls so while we still get moisture coming through the front wall (we are on a hill), it is dry.
Dry enough to have a freezer and other things down there.
    Ventilation’s the key.

Just wouldn’t bother stripping the paint. Alot of effort for something which may end up looking worse.

I’m after a new DAB radio so think I’ll have a trip over to Burnley tomorrow and get one of those Pure’s. Might be a bit posh for work though but I’m fed up of the cheap supermarket DAB radios packing up after a year or less. Gone through about 3 or 4 of them at £40/£50 a time.
    False economy that is.

No kids myself but a house full of foster brats/kids. 🙂
Some of the older ones do need quite a bit of reprogramming but it’s great to see the change in them and be adopted by a loving family.
