It’ll be fine. What’s it say on the tin? Not below 8 degrees or something.

Floor painting top tip. Start at the door and work your way back to the corner. 😉

I’ve the same TP-Link one. Great when it’s working but it needs piddling* about with every few days when it decides to stop working.

    *unplugging and plugging back in.

Hi Tec aren’t bad for the money. Had a couple of pairs over the years and have served me well.

Been wearing a pair of these Oboz Yellowstone for the past 6 months and have been superb so far. So comfy I don’t want to take them off when I get home but as others have said, it might be best to try some on first considering how much they can cost. Never felt the need myself but of course yfmv.

This all seems a bit unlikely. Will Smith in a film about Burnley football hooligans??

    Just what I was thinking.

If the chimney is lined you’ll want the super flexible rods. Stoves online have them. £25 a metre.

They regularly drive on the pavements round our way.

The pavement outside the school across the lane from us is always having cars tear down it when they come flying round the corner and realise there’s only space for one car.

Do they slow down? Do they ****! Idiots.

Just give the walls a clean and filling and sanding then paint with a thin first coat of emulsion. If any stains start showing after it’s dried just go over that bit with some stain block or oil primer/undercoat.

Chorlton, do you have a link to the article?

No. Looked for it myself and thinking about it, it was on the letters pages. Just thought it was a good story.

Talking about wireless charging. There was a story in a recent New Scientist where radio authorities investigating a black spot in the LW frequency narrowed it down to a house where a guy had hidden an aerial around his garden fence and using it to charge a load of batteries to power 12v lighting in his house he’d pinched from a railway depot. He was also in the process of setting up an inverter to get 240v. That was 50 years ago. 🙂

Sounds about right. By what you’ve said it’ll need quite a bit of prep. The bare wood will need 3 coats.

I’m a bit disappointed. I thought they were talking about Brian Sewel at first. Was looking forward to hearing that conversation.

We have quite a big one for camping we bought off a friend who built it himself. Takes 5 bikes on a rack on the lid. If you are not used to towing with a trailer then get practising before you go. You don’t want to have to try reversing on small country lane when you meet a car coming the other way. Can be very embarrassing. Best to get a decent sized one as I find the tiny trailers a right pain to reverse. Also, doesn’t matter how large a trailer is you’re bound to fill it full. 🙂

Get the Vertebrate Lakes guide book. A few in there near Hawkshead. The rest of the good stuff in Grizedale and the Claife Heights route for starters.

Take a look at the Kyham Ridgi-dome range.

We have one half of this Khyam Ridgi Pod. It’s been all over Europe in some fierce weathers and never let us down. There’s one on ebay now for £100.

If you’re using water based paint. Don’t wash out your brushes/rollers. Just wrap them up in a plastic bag and they won’t dry out.
You can have that one for nowt 🙂

A friend had a couple of Fireline stoves fitted the other winter. Around £580 each. Look and burn great. They’re metal boxes with holes in at the end of the day so buy the one you like the look and price of.

I bought a 4.0 battery and charger to use with a second hand Ryobi circular saw I picked up of EBay a few months ago and so far so good with plenty of use. Just wish they’d make a decent DAB radio like Makita does and I could use the batteries for that as well. 🙂

Anyone here done the Pennine Way? I quite fancy doing that. I’ve been listening to Mark Radcliffe’s programme on R4 where he walked it. Got me planning.

Got some Opticron Vega 8×25 free when I joined the BTO (not on offer at the minute) a few years ago and they were great. Had them as my only pair for quite some time till I dropped them. Can be had for about £50 on Amazon.
