He didnt just ‘go quiet’ either- he knowingly sold the same item twice making him either a tool or a fool. His reluctance to sort the issue out and go ‘off grid’ makes him a bit of both….

Ppro, I don’t think its fair to expect anybody except Tony to fork out for anything, this is all his responsibility.

I don’t know you, your family or any other details bar your OP but it strikes me that you need to invest your energy helping your lads out rather than looking for a way out of the country. I can see the attraction in starting afresh somewhere new, but im pretty sure that you would end up in the same situation in a short space of time, just in another country.

Your lads who are into drugs and have no motivation won’t suddenly change when you put them in a different area. You may have a honeymoon period but they’ll soon revert to their old behaviour no matter where they are in the world. You need to address their behaviour and help them change their outlook on life. This is all easier said than done, but at least in the UK you will have people to help you. You mention that one of the boys is known to MH services, if he has a key worker ask him what can be offered to help him. You could also ask for advice from drug services/charities that will be in your area about a strategy to help your boys out.

Good luck with it, as a parent myself I can appreciate that you have some tough times ahead.

I really liked the 2010 ‘fish that I had for a short while. Fantastic rear sus which gave that ‘bottomless’ feel once set up properly (which was a bit of a faff). The shock is an odd size although newer frames have a more standard size, I believe.
Tyre clearance isn’t massive, a (admittedly huge) HansDampf scrubbed the chainstay but a narrower Racing ralph and ardent went in fine.
I sold mine because of the arrival of my Covert 29″, I wouldn’t say it’s a vast improvement apart from fast decents. I wanted a longer fork than the standard 120mm on the ‘fish because of the decents, but that’s just personal preference.

Well worth a test ride I’d say.

Well then it depends if the seller has given a reasonable explaination of any delays. Within a week is usually doable for most I should imagine.

No goods or refund here. He may not be a scammer but he’s certainly got his head up his a**e.

Arch or flow on hope hubs are 270 from progressivebikes. I run the flows myself and can’t fault them. Easy to set up for tubeless, can be converted to any fitment and a great weight/cost ratio.

If it’s any consolation, there’s been no sign of a refund or the bars either.

Edit: yes, I know Watsontony isnt a megastore online retailer blah blah and these things happen whilst dealing on the classifieds etc.

I sent a paypal gift. I weighed up the risk- long term poster, low value item and sent payment as a gift (even though Tony didn’t specify a gift payment) as I have done in countless transactions before. If it works out that I loose that money, the only thing I will feel is sorry for Tony- he obviously has issues of greater importance than taking my 30 quid. Please don’t start the ‘told you so’ posts, they’re getting as tiresome as the endless wheel debates.

As I said above, I’m still hopeful that this will be resolved properly.

Ive heard from somebody over on PB who has sold items to Tony and can confirm that he lives in Blackburn. No phone number though unfortunately. Tony has been running 2 accounts on PB, both have been suspended.

The ebay ad tallies with a house address in Blackburn that has come from a forum user who has bought and recieved from Tony in the past. That forum user also mentioned that his comms were poor so theres still hope I suppose.

£75 still seems a pathetic amount to commit fraud when he could have advertised something more valuable like a frame/forks and had a greater amount in one go? I suppose small amounts do add up and don’t cause much suspicion though. I’m wondering if he’s had his computer/accounts hacked?

I had a quick look at his forum ‘history’ before the deal so had no reservations about buying from him. It’s the lack of communication that’s of most concern tbh.

I ordered one of these and have trial fitted it but it’s not for me, too small a drop and the red colour doesn’t match anything else on my bike. If anybody wants it I’ll sell it for my outlay- £103 after paypal costs and delivery. I’ll put an ad in the classifieds.

The route map for Afan is on the Gravity enduro site, I believe the route is @30k with 2k elevation. It’s going to be a muddy weekend if the rain keeps up!

I ordered a Pacestar from bikediscount.de last week and a Trailstar tyre inside a Pacestar box arrived! Good job the tyre star was easily visible before I opened the box. It’s on its way back to Germany for a swap with free return postage so not too much of a hassle.

The FC have made a detour to do some tree felling. They’re cracking on with their work so hopefully the detour won’t be in place too long- it really is a claggy horrible mess. You can use a fireroad to get to the top as an alternative.
