Doncorleoli – thanks for that, lots of great info there!
We’ve just arrived and are in a modern lodge, no mould that I can see!

Thank you for the suggestions, I’ll give them a whirl :)

Software you can try Prezi – I believe there’s a freeware version that’s cloud based. Our chaps at work swear by it.

    Absolutely terrible timing :(
If another computer doesn’t even see the drive when docked, i’m afraid there’s probably not a lot you can do about it without sending it off to be professionally recovered ($$$).

Cue sanctimonious posts about “just restore it from backup… you *did* back it up, right?”

But i’m not like that, no siree.

    I feel your pain.

Right, pack up the internet and send it back to whoever made it. I’ve now seen everything.

    What adjustable belt?!?!

    I mean *really*??

Some pics of me in Lordswood (yes, Lordswood!) a couple of years ago

These “softroaders” aren’t up to much are they?

    *ninja edit.

I’ve had a 3 series saloon and made the assumption that the rear seats would fold down to give more room.

    Mistake.

Make sure if you do go for the saloon, the car is fitted with the *optional* fold down rear seats!!

Pleased to report my Trafic SWB conversion has been one of my better decisions in life ! Bought a new 2012 Trafic sport and did the conversion myself….windows, insulation , carpet lining and vinyl floor…Smart Beds RnR 3/4 bed fitted . LED lights from IKEA and leisure battery from a UPS . 80 watt Solar panel. Smev double burner and sink combo unit and the Grill as well ( for Toast mainly ! )
Fridge is a top loader from vitofrigo…brilliant as it doesn’t lose its cold air every time you open the door.
Lots of info and advice from the SBMCC ( Self Build Motor Caravaneers Club ) membership of which gives very good discounts on Insurance and equipment .
Furniture self made in 12mm and 6 MM ply ….easily built and adapted /changed …..that Voringer ply is very expensive if you change your mind about the layout or design half way through or want to change something after using it for a while .
Front Swivel seats from Ford Galaxy.[/quote]

This post is useless without pics :)

Two weeks is still early days – A little more patience and assuming all is well (and the grass is exposed to sunlight) I reckon you’ll start seeing results soon.

I’ve had many many phones (android, apple and WinPho), out of them all my favourite has got to be the HTC One M8.
Should be able to pick one up fairly cheap now I’d imagine.

Anywhere but Southampton. The roads aren’t exactly cycle friendly!

There is the new forest a 10 minute drive away, should be able to cobble together a decent route round there.

The best Internet security is running Windows Update, updating Java and Adobe products (or removing them if you don’t use them), not clicking on attachments in unsolicited emails and staying off porn and app torrent sites.

    Beyond that, install:

Windows 8: Defender (built into the OS)
Windows 7: Microsoft Security Essentials (download from MS)
    Windows XP: Linux

    This.

I’ve got one of these coupled with a humidity sensor, works really well (albeit with a little bit of fiddling with the sensitivity settings)

So how would I go about getting broadband on my 747. I’m assuming we would be looking at a wireless system. As we are over the sea and out of site of land I assume that we are looking at satellites.

So would it have to be the Iridium network? As far as I can see that’s a 2-3 kbit/s connection for about a dollar a minute

    Presumably I’m missing something

NEC make some really quite spectacularly crap monitors, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a hardware revision incompatibility.

I’ve seen the same sorts of things with the NECs we have at work.

    Buy Dell screens, much betterer.

Much more preferable to a T5 with a mattress.

Great for 2 people, but what’s the OP’s nipper going to do?
I’m not sure rolling around in the back whilst on the French country lanes is a viable option :)

To be fair, that is a lot of van for the money though – i’d be tempted if it wasn’t for the fact we wouldn’t have anywhere to stow the 14 month old!
