That’s odd, the XL ‘should’ have come with a 170mm as standard.

I think the 2018 model has this, I’ve actually had two of the above and both came with 150mm.

Yeah, i’m quite tall, if only they did a 250mm drop!

What size frame are you on? Looks like you could have done with a bigger size. Aware of a few 170/175mm droppers but not heard of any longer than that. But unless the seattube was very short can’t see why you’d want a longer one.

It’s an XL frame with a 150mm reverb, I reckon 200mm would be perfect as theres around 6cm seat tube exposed :)

Yours looks about half a mile out!

You’re right about the bottle! it’s very rarely on there though as I usually use a pack :)

Mine stated creaking after around 50 miles of riding, it’s quite annoying now but it’s still running relatively smooth. Think I will probably go hope if they’re compatible

Upgraded rotor sizes, bars and chainring.

Wouldn’t mind a longer dropper at some point!

Bottom bracket it creaking pretty badly as well, what have people upgraded to on theirs?

My T-130rs was taken from Wilmslow beginning of December, just jemmied the door open on my outbuilding, happened at 20:50 whilst I was in the house also!

I’ll keep an eye out for these though :)

The new trek store at total fitness, handforth – roughly 20mins drive from the city centre seem quite keen to give out demos for a few days at a time. No deposits etc, they just take your details

Will keep an eye out, we’re just over the border in Cheshire, had a couple of mine stolen a few weeks ago so feel your pain!

    I have a t-130rs, I found I was bottoming out too easily at 30% sag settings (i’m around 16stone, 6ft 5″!)

I’ve added volume spacers and the problem seems to be greatly improved. Very easy to do as well.

Just in case anyone stumble across this thread with the same question, the 2017 fox 34 forks (130mm travel) come pre installed with 3 green spacers, i’ve added another 3 green volume spacers and it appears to be fine!

There is a shipment arriving on the 12th i’m led to believe, possibly heading to shops around the 20th!

better had be as my XL is within that shipment :)

I’ve just ordered the t-130rs, I was having the same debate as you, went with my gut feeling! I would end up upgrading bits on the S whereas I’m pretty happy with the setup on the RS

    Hi blakec

If you want a comparison, i’m 6ft 5″ and this is my Whyte 905, standard cockpit but I have got a 170mm reverb as the standard dropper was too short!

    chocolateteapot

I would buy frame only as the parts are relatively comparable, I have tried to source a frame but they won’t sell me one :(

I could stop being a tart and just do a few more upgrades on mine – wheels, cranks etc but that T-130rs is lovely!

So you’ve taken the bike back after 11 months, they didn’t prearrange the rust and the stanchions aren’t made from the wrong material. Simply, it has been left in the wrong circumstances and rust has formed. This is predominately your fault in my opinion. Personally, if I worked at the shop I would of cleaned the rust off and given it you back .

For one trip Id just get one of the 13l Alpkit tapered dry bags to sling under your saddle and one of their 13l Airlok Duals to hang from your bars. That should be more than enough space for extra clothes and probs give you some protection from the dog

they’re cheap and look pretty good! Is that the full setup, i.e. I just zip tie the saddle bag to the bike or is that just a dry bag to go inside some sort of attachment thing?

Cheers all rigid bike it is :) my mate did it last year and i’m aware of the rough parts! There is also 4/5 of us going so shouldn’t encounter to many issues.

Kit list so far, some items we will likely pool so only 1 pump, 1 multi tool etc:

    Inner tubes (x2) and patches
    Tyre levers
    Cable ties
    Gorilla tape
    Pump
    Basic lights
    Multi tool
    Leatherman
    Quick release chain link
    Mobile phone & charger
    Card and cash
    Waterproof jacket
    Riding clothes (washed each night)
A few detergent tablets for clothes washing
    Clothing (2 x t-shirts, boxers, socks, 1 x trousers, hoodie)
    Food bought daily night before

Also, thinking this for the clothes:

and this for the food / tools etc

They’re expensive though so open to suggestions on the packs!

I’ve got a 905, could of got a 909 but preferred the colour of the 905, they’re very nice bikes :)

I have upgraded the bike, got revelation rct3, saint brakes, xt 11 speed and will probably get a 150mm dropper soon as well

Lean more (the bike, not you), spot your exit (head up, look where you want to be), steer with your hips, lay off the front brake.

This but on tightly packed corners you need to add a bit of a pump in on the exit to take the weight off the bike so you can position yourself and the bike for the next turn.

I’m no expert though so another wise move is to invest in a skills day!

Mine isn’t too far off being finished! fairly limited space so got to make the most of it.

It definitely needs a good vice though if I can fit it in

(the cabinet on the left isn’t for ‘growing’ it’s a biltong drying cabinet!)

Usually has this in it as well

Saints are on! can’t use it though as I’ve put all the M8000 kit on it but no shifter :(

Just want a 150mm dropper now to replace my 100mm and the bike will be perfect!

    Thanks for the advice all

Saints it is then I think, i’m 6ft 5 and heavy so stopping power is important!

    chocolateteapot

fairly mixed bag there! Is the saint more powerful than the m8000 XT? that’s what i’m after really as my current deores feel a bit weak sometimes

M8000 shifter, deralieur, chain & cassette!

Evans cycles are offering a £20 voucher on £100 spend or £10 on a £60 spend. I split the order down so will end up with a £30’s of vouchers.

Problem I have now is I ordered an I Spec II shifter so now also need new brakes :)

Shimano saints or XT’s? I’m a bit of a unit so i’m leaning towards saints at the minute

Whats the rough value of what you are sending and what % to charity would you like to see?

    Cheers

Jockey wheels and the 26″ tyre would be appreciated, quite happy to pay the postage and will happily donate to a charity

Is the 180mm rotor 6 bolt or centre lock?

    Cheers

This is my only bike and has just arrived, gone for the best hardtail I could afford for the type of riding I do, didn’t bother with FS as it’s a bit of a minefield!

My LBS have various sizes of the 905 in stock but no XL until mid September, I should be getting one from that batch as I’ve paid a little while ago. Whyte have said they’re getting some more in October also

I was here at the weekend also, I don’t mind the initial slog, I only really ride here with friends though so it is a good warm up / catch up. The end climbs do me in though.

The above drop looks really imposing stood up next to it, I ride all the other black sections but have given this bit a miss so far.

When my new bike arrives i’ll give it a go!
