I broke the navicular bone in my right foot badly 2 and a half years ago, resulting in surgery for repair (pins and plate).
15 months on, a screw broke and the plate dislodged (surgeon blamed it on my diabetes [charcot foot]).
After orthotic insoles I was still on maximum paracetamol and ibuprofen every day.
I got some turmeric capsules, after someone at work suggested them. The pain still comes and goes, but it’s eased plenty.
I’ve been busy today, and all I’ve had is 2 paracetamol.
So, I’m sold on Turmeric. Turmeric
I just use them for kicking around the house/garden, and I use them in the car (I don’t have a dab radio). They feel secure in my ears, but the Backbeat Fit2 that I had before were more secure, and they had a volume control.
@sadexpunk
Did you get the Anker earbuds?
I dropped and stood on my Plantronics earphones the other morning.
I ordered some of those P2s, before I found this thread.
The first try with them today, the sound’s good (to my ears), but there’s no volume control on the buds, the volume has to be controlled from the device, which I’ll miss.
I realise, I should have read through the spec.
Long shot here…
We’re having a clear out in the loft.
There are two Heybrook turntable shelves that have been up there since we moved in the house, 23 years ago.
The dear wife says they’re going.
I cba boxing and posting them, so I thought I’d offer them foc on here, if there’s anyone in the Wakefield area wants one/them.
@sirromj I imagine the tab/sticky outy bit on rhs of your photo goes up against the front edge of your bench.
Not sure, though.
Edit
Bunkum, take no notice of me.
But yes, that’ll tend to tilt the vice.
I’ve got a Hogg’s of Fife padded waxed coat (from a farm supplies shop) for winter dog walking duties. Different layers underneath for different temperature days. I’m only out for an hour or two, though.
For warmer wet looking walks, an RAF Goretex coat does me.
I’ve been Googling today, it seems the aim is to get the Horizon system to work from a phone in the not too distant future.
If I were to go for a new Medtronic system, it’d be another 4 years before I can look at different options. As @datsunman says, it’s just 3 months with the Omnipod.
I could keep a pen at work, as a “just in case” option.
There seems to be a case for giving it a whirl.
Thread resurrection.
Folks, I’ve been given a chance to try an Omnipod system today. Put a search in here and…
I’ve been on Medtronic pumps for knocking on 10 years, and I’m fancying a change.
The only drawback I can see with the Omnipod is that if/when I forget to take the controller with me, I’ll be knackered.
It shouldn’t be too heavy, but possibly just awkward.
If you’re struggling, get some gaffer tape and make/fasten some handles onto the box.
Don’t rush, unless it’s raining.
I know what you’re feeling. Our Sadie went to the vet’s for the last time in 2004. I’ve said before on here, I still think about her when I get to the last digestive in the packet, that one was always hers.
We got Zara in March last year.

I got a set of these when I got my impact driver, they’re outta stock now, but something like that should be fine.
I also got a bunch of cheaper PZ2 bits that can be scattered between the shed and the garage.
I’m still in, but although I said I wasn’t going on the AF beer, I cracked and got a couple of Ghostship (wasn’t fond) and a 6 pack of Beck’s Blue (meh).
The day after I called and got some Erdinger. Nice.
I’ve also found Lidl Patronus Weissbier AF is nice, too.
Thanks for the replies.
So, I’ll be buying one, but would it be better to buy now, before they’re all outta stock, or wait for Black Friday deals? Are there ever any left by then?
Thread resurrection :
It’s looking like I’ll have to upgrade the mower, as the dear wife has scrapped the 12 year old petrol one.
Anyone got thoughts/insight?
