Crisps. Why has nobody suggested crisp sandwiches?

I went with Makita, when I needed a new lawnmower at the start of last year. Also bought a hedgetrimmer at the same time. The lawnmower came with 2 5ah batteries, which will do our lawns easily from full.

Since I’ve got the garden stuff, I’ve also bought a vacuum cleaner and a tyre inflator. If I was in need of a new drill, I’d be getting that one up there, that Simon_g has linked to.

In short, I chose Makita LXT, and have been happy with the quality.

M6 plug tap. If you’re just cleaning the threads up, you won’t need a taper or 2nd tap.

It doesn’t let me reply after the quote, without making a new paragraph before I hit the quote button. Is that right?

Apologies if that’s already been covered, I haven’t read the whole thread.

I’m watching the Newcastle v City match, it looks like City don’t like it up ’em.

    Newcastle won the first half.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned above, Steve Thompson was on BBC HardTalk not long ago, he’s been diagnosed with early onset dementia, too. Something’s gotta change.

I’ve had a 12v Bosch Pro drill and impact driver for a few years, and got the Dremel type tool 2 years ago. They’re big enough for the jobs I’ve done so far.

I bought into Makita LXT at the start of last year, with a 36v mower and a hedge trimmer. I got a vacuum cleaner and a tyre inflator earlier this year. I’ll probably get some more stuff, as and when I need them.

Since we got the dog, we’ve been holidaying fairly local.

We’ve been for a long weekend in a caravan on the Yorkshire Coast earlier in the year.

We’re booked for a couple of weeks in the same caravan later in the year.

I got a Makita 18v tyre inflator a few months ago, I leave it in the garage, though. Works great for checking/topping up pressures. I’ve not had fully inflate a tyre, yet.

They now seem to have gone up in price by £20 since I got mine! 😳

We’ve had an Electrolux camping fridge for about 15 years. It spent most of its time as a beer fridge (in the garage) running on 240v.

When we were camping, we ran it off the same gas bottle as the stove, swapped the pipes over whilst cooking. It’ll run on 12v, but we never bothered.

It still works, but it lives in the shed, these days, only getting used when the dear wife decides to have a do.

Now Dometic branded, and much more spendy nowadays.

I got some Saxton ones off Amazon a couple of years ago. No complaints from me. £8 for a pack of 10.

The helpful NHS podiatrist I saw a couple or three years ago, gave me a pair of Slimflex Berry insoles. To make the support softer, she’d taken part of the insole instep “corner” off. I’ve bought a few pairs since, grinding their instep away with the Dremel.

We’ve had 2 Petporte flaps, like Spacehopper links to.

I can’t remember what happened to the first one, but we replaced it with the same. I’ve never noticed it being draughty.

With the Omnipod, and the Medtronic pumps, you enter the amount of carbohydrate you’re having and your blood glucose reading. The pump will estimate the amount of insulin you need to bolus. (based on the insulin/carb ratios, correction factors your personal device has been set up with)

Or, you can short cut that by entering the bolus you want. Eg. I wanted, when I made my mistake, the insulin for 20g of carbohydrate (would have been 1.6u). Instead, I entered bolus 20 units and hit go!

    Hope that makes sense.

Thinking about it, I wonder if he’s tried to bolus for 75g carbs but actually bolused 75u?

When I first started with the Omnipod, I did something similar.

I got up one Saturday morning, reading a bit high (9ish), and thought “I’ll bolus for 20g, then have a biscuit when I’m out with the dog.”  Half asleep, I bolused 20 units. I’m pleased I checked my PDM, before I’d got too far.

After that, I set a maximum bolus on the PDM. I’m not sure what the default is, but it’s one to watch (especially if you’re a bit half-baked).

    Edit.

    Default max is 30 units.

I bought a set of alloy wheels and Nokian winter tyres last week, off a guy at work who’s recently sold his Superb. £250.

The first chance I had to fit them was last Saturday, I had to sweep the storm Arwen snow off the drive to be able to push the trolley jack under the car.

It’s nice to hear someone recommend the tyres.

My pods go on the less hairy parts of my waste and abdomen.

A couple of hours before your race starts, set a temp basal at – 50% until the end of the race.

Try not to drop your PDM, it’s £250 for a new one.
