I completed Stoptober successfully a few times, and quite enjoyed it.

The dear wife is away this weekend, so just me and the dog at home. I’ll try sobriety for the rest of the month, from Tuesday.

ITV have got the video of the lovely woman whipping the horse.

I’m not sure she’ll be going to any more Olympics, after that.

We got some of this at work, I was a bit dubious about it when it arrived, but it seems OK. Also available in toobs.

“Have you got a screen protector on it? There’s a setting to change the sensitivity if you have”

Thanks, I didn’t know about that. I recently put a screen protector on my Pixel 6… 🙃

The guy who runs a diabetes podcast I listen to (he’s not a diabetic), has been using Wegovy. He’s covered his his experience over a few episodes.

He seems to be very happy with the results.

    Google “Juicebox Podcast Wegovy”

Thanks. Did that, it sorted it. However, I didn’t like that dark background, so I’ve gone back.

At least I found the profile button. I can’t understand why they’d have hidden it, though. 🙄

Just black for me. Pixel 6.

I can’t see any way to logout so I can log back in, either.

Edit. I touched the black strip, centre screen, and it took me to the STW home page. Touched the black strip on the rhs, where the menu button should be, sure enough, the menu came up. So, the buttons are there, but they’re just black. I logged out and back in. Still black.

    The buttons are back.

No buttons for me. I can’t even try the logging out and back in trick, ’cause that button’ s gone, too.

I used the Sika Fast Fix on our patio, last August. I used this YouTube video for an idea of how to carry on.

I’m guessing you are comfortable with the brakes being euro style – I vowed never to ride them again after nearly going over an Armco barrier panic braking & locking the back wheel on la gomera.

I went with Freemotion about 12-15 years ago, came down from the top of the island, left-hand death grip on the bar, right hand death grip on the brake lever. 😳
    Loved it!

We stayed in Adeje in 2017, I booked 3 days riding with Lavatrax. Recommended.
Edit. I just noticed the e for electric.
Get in touch with @potdog on here, he runs Lavatrax, might be able to help you.

I used Medtronic pumps for a few years. I changed to Omnipod Dash a couple of years ago. I find it much better, no “being followed round the bed by the pump”, and the ability to set a square bolus before getting in the shower.
    IMHO, you’ve dropped on lucky.
My Diabetes Specialist Nurse suggested I listen to “Juicebox Diabetes” podcast, and I find some of them really interesting, although they are a bit American.

I got done yesterday (1st), came in the kitchen after walking the dog, Greatest Hits Radio blaring it out. Out.

@frogstomp & Dick, it’s the Dexcom app that’s warning me not to update to Android 14, as the app isn’t yet compatible.

My Dexcom cgm (blood glucose monitor) app is not yet compatible with Android 14, so, I need to turn off the os auto update on my Pixel 6.
Can anyone give this numpty a clue how to do that, please?

My dad gave me his small B&D workmate when I bought my own house in 1986.
I inherited his large B&D workmate when he died in 1995.
I still use them both when I’m DIYing*.

I bought a Bosch 12v Pro drill, probably 7 or 8 years ago, when I first saw them recommended on here. Then I got the impact driver from the range. They’ve been great for what I’ve needed.
A couple of years ago we were needing a new lawnmower, so I bought an 18v Makita LXT mower, plus a hedge trimmer. I’ve since got the tyre inflator, a vacuum cleaner, and most recently, a circular saw. Again, all great.

We’ve got quite a bit of Dewalt gear at work, we’ve had a few of the drill/driver clutches fail, so I didn’t/wouldn’t bother with them.

My mum has/had a similar leather one, but she managed to break the metal subframe. I’d say it’d be easily repairable, if you want it. I took the chair and matching footstool to pieces, yesterday, to make it easier to get to the tip.

It’s in the south of West Yorkshire, if you want to come and pick it up.

Age is an issue, Binners, when I worked for the NCB in the 80’s, the over 50’s were getting their redundancy, no question. That kind of hard work is not for the older end.

    I too reckon it’s a non-runner.

I was talking about this at work, this morning, with 3 other ex-miners. We all agreed that there wouldn’t be enough coal mining knowledge to man it up.

Does anyone know how they are planning to staff this new mine? Will they be importing all the mining industry engineers?

The only brand new car I’ve ever had was a Mk1 XR2, GWT 499Y.

Got it in March ’83 iirc, 3 months later, me and 2 mates went on holiday in it. The furthest south we got was Benidorm.

    Memories.
