Really enjoyed the BMX this year. Liam P’s riding was solid. Great start in the main. Considering he was bust up after the Worlds he’s done really well.

Shanaze rode with a lot of heart (as always).

Another great leap forward for BMX racing in the UK.

If they weren’t riding a BMX in the 80’s what were these skill less middle aged mtbers doing with their childhood? Riding Raleigh bombers?

A couple of times whilst surfing. Not a getting a clean break isn’t ideal, leaves a bit of mess in the wetsuit. Plus got to be vigilant when paddling about.

On any given day STW has more than it’s fair share of miserable sods. But this thread is great for identifying the most miserable of them all.

Well done to all of them, you truly are STW’s most miserable sods.

God help anyone who knows you.

British road cycling has had an incredible 12 months. Let’s hope after the Olympic TT all the riders and support team can take some time out and enjoy their successes and not let one race spoil it for them.

IMO controlled crying is cruel. Kids need love and security.

Some friends did the ‘controlled crying’ with their babies. Now as 3-5 years old the kids are appear emotionally distant and lack the ability to express themselves. Their parents feel they don’t have a close bond with their kids. Maybe, just maybe the kids are thinking screw you, you left me to cry night after night.

LOL at mountain bikers moaning about braking bumps. You’re riding an ‘off road’ bicycle, get over it.

Go and ride an mx bike, ideally on a sand track, then you’ll see what real braking bumps are.

LOL at any suggestion that you’re an alcoholic if you can’t go a month without a drink. Try giving up masturbating, the car, TV, the web, STW, bread, riding, wearing women’s underwear, being miserable. Would it be any easier than giving up booze? I doubt it.

    Moderation.

It’s your body do what you want with it, but at least have some imagination. Avoid the cliches (tribal shoulder, child’s names, skulls, roses, religious effigies, anything hipster like Duncan Riffle)

Whilst I believe Dirt was a much better mag in the days of 4130 it is still one of my favourite bike mags. Mark & Chris Noble and their team were publishing visionaries. Factory media doesn’t have them same magic.

One frustration with Mpora/Factory Media (Dirt, BMX talk & MX Trax) is how far behind they are in making their web content mobile device friendy, namely IOS. They really are missing a trick with the DH world cup coverage not working on IOS devices.

Armour will not prevent broken bones. It might help reduce grazes, bruises and puncture injuries, but not bones. Take a look at most mx riders, none of this pressure suit rubbish, just a lightweight roost vest. Broken bones are part life on two wheels.

Copper does seem to work. I use the tape version, only problem is the adhesive isn’t that great. I don’t rely solely on copper tape, also use beer traps and the odd late night slug picking session. The little sods end up in bucket of salt. Organic gardening is a challenge.

Thanks for sharing. It’s crazy how far BMX has come. That vid has a lot of big & super tech stuff, but with style at the same time. It’s the one problem with some with the tech riding, the style gets lost. EG Daniel Dhers no style whatsoever.

Homeopathy is generally regarded as quackery.

Yet chamomilla, nux vom, pulsatilla, and other remedies have been very effective treating my kids in their early years. Given their age, when teething for instance, there is no way it could be down to placebo effect.

Chamomilla granules. A good homeopathic remedy for teething. Used on both my kids during teething. Also great for settling them down when they can’t sleep.

My thoughts are turning to being prepared for a collapse. Priorities being, food, water, shelter…. Self sufficiency.

I may well be on the verge of my own collapse, but my instinct is telling me to get prepared. If it happens, my family are in with a chance. If I doesn’t, then no problem.

No problem with anyone who wants to do a skills course. I’m curious about who is the typical skills course client. Did they take to MTB, or bikes in general, late in life? What is the typical level of riding most clients are aiming for?
