A link has already been posted. Apple’s ScreenTime is what you need.

If there are X boxes and PCs that need some ‘governance’ then check out X Box Family Settings and Microsoft Family Safety

In your link there are quite a few exclusions that look like They cover STW?

I’ve no doubt STW and similar sites /platforms (publishers) have a ‘legit’ reason to say ‘No’. Personally I feel any site / publisher has a moral responsibility to respect an individual’s request to remove all content and data originally created by the individual. On every user user dashboard there should be a ‘Delete Everything’ button.

Yep absolutely – but apparently they make it incredibly difficult.

    Right to erasure

You’d probably have more luck with Now TV than you would STW when it comes to Right to Erasure.

Hoping to get the vaccine soon…

    Fingers crossed.

Vaccine booked for my wife and I on Wednesday am. Honestly, I’m feeling quite emotional about it.

Hoping to get the vaccine soon. Turn 50 in a few days, been an outpatient for 3.5 years (Monitoring for thyroid cancer. 6 monthly scans and biopsies)

Being honest, with kids back at school and lock down easing I’m getting a little twitchy as to when I’ll get the call.

When I know of friends and relatives younger than me with no health issues who’ve been vaccinated, can’t help but think it seems like a lottery.

    Fingers crossed.

Surely part of learning to use Excel should be learning when it’s not the right tool for the job?

I’m curious for myself, what tool would you recommend in this instance?

I am far from an excel ninja. In situations similar to that posed by the OP I’ve been using Power Query. Any other tips or tools that can make life easier I’d gladly look at.

Try booting in recovery mode and running disk utility
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210898

If disk utility doesn’t find any issues maybe consider a clean install of Mac OS and reinstalling any apps etc.
    https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204904

It might seem overkill but sometimes a disk reformat and a nice clean OS install can work wonders.

You could also run Apple Diagnostics

No matter how clear the latest roadmap is on paper, we can guarantee Boris will make a complete hash of the delivery today. This will in turn lead to many people thinking ‘Yippee Covid is over’. Resulting in many more unneeded deaths and damage to peoples’ wellbeing and the economy.

    Boris is an absolute b***end.

The symptoms you’ve described are very similar to my own that I had several years ago.

Eventual diagnosis was labral tear in the hip and femoroacetabular impingement.

The journey to diagnosis took some time. The GP focused on the back pain, this lead to a rheumatologist and MRIs on the back and SI joint, but no clear diagnosis. Eventually I found an osteopath, who it turns out they themselves had the same injury. This lead to an orthopaedic consultant and an MRI on the hips. Then a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.

You may well not have the same issue. Good luck.

It’s my understanding that it’s the entire camera roll or nothing. Specific albums cannot be uploaded.

You could download the album photos to the device then copy them to an iCloud / Files folder. Or save the photo direct to Files. Bypassing the Photos App and iCloud camera roll backup.

Is the blank iPad set up and assigned to an Apple ID? If yes, save the file to Files/iCloud then share the file with the Apple ID of the blank iPad. Owner of blank iPad then downloads file to their Files (iCloud).

In these Covid times one thing that consistently tests my levels of tolerance is runners with little or no regard for social distancing.

Polite request to all runners, when you pass pedestrians please allow plenty of space (other side of the road kind of plenty) and be mindful that not everyone you run past/at wants to inhale/walk into your freshly exhaled air.

    Thank you.

There seems to be some beef between these two. Is Hambini right in his allegations of racism?

Despite the potty mouth and rants I quite like him (when he stays on topic). I hope for him he focuses on what he does best, BS free engineering.

If there is a Google account run Google’s security check.

Look to see if any devices have accessed the Google account. Remove devices if needed.
    Change Google account password
Set up 2FA on Google Account
    Change all passwords (yes, everything)
Set up 2FA on everything, where possible.

Re IOS being more secure. A family member with an iPhone fell for this WhatsApp hack attack. Resulted in factory reset, Apple ID password change, setting up 2FA, changing all passwords and binning WhatsApp.

Echoing somethings already said, don’t be put off by getting a 20″. If you need a bit of room look for top tubes 21″ plus. For stability, look for longer chain stays. The FIT TRL mentioned earlier is a good bike.(I’m 6’2″, I ride a United TRU with 21.5″ TT / 13.7″ – 14.11″ CS)

With all this Covid malarky going on my MTB hasn’t had a look in for nearly a year. The BMX is simple. No faffing about, get on it, ride, forget all the BS of life. Even better, ride with my kids, explore the local streets and make some good covid memories.

Airing jump boxes, manuals, carving a nice line around the skatepark, bombing the streets and hopping off curbs… it’s all a buzz.

BMX and skating have helped keep me and my young kids happy and sane during Covid. I could get quite deep about how powerful and profound these simple and rewarding activities have been for for us.

Ride for yourself and have fun.

    Check out this thread OP.

Tip: Avoid Halfords, Winstanleys, Chain Reaction, Wiggle, Mafia Bikes and Collective bikes.

Try to buy from and support a real BMX shop.

Some real BMX shops to get you going.

    Alans BMX, Wigan
    Entity BMX, Poole
    Dead Sailor, Truro
    Waller BMX, Sheffield
    Crucial BMX, Bristol
    Customer Riders, Online
    Volt BMX, London
    Substance, Glasgow
    Mode BMX, Derby

I’d like to suggest the Source, but in these crazy times some of the smaller shops would be more appreciative of your business.

The New Forest is an odd place, inhabited by some odd people. IMO it’s all a bit meh.

Take one look at the local MP. He sums up the place and the people.

Not being able to cycle there is no biggy. That and the Alabama Rot, there is little reason to visit. Let the locals shoot themselves in the foot and damage what’s left of the local tourism business.

Seems a little odd that some forum users are expressing concerns about cookies and privacy, yet they are happy to tell all and sundry on a public forum about the ins and outs of their lives. On a forum that has excellent SEO, so much so, very often when searching Google, STW forum threads show in the search engine results.

I have no problem with cookie consent. I use Safari, ad blockers and regularly clear the browser cache.

Personally I feel the number of trackers (11 by today’s count) used by STW is excessive. Let’s not discuss the inability for users to delete threads / posts from STW. But heh it’s not my forum / business, if I and others don’t like it I suppose we can eff off.

Personally I’d avoid pets4homes and look for a genuine breeder by talking to other owners of the breed that you are interested (be it online or face to face).

Check out The Perfect Puppy by Gwen Bailey. Loads of helpful advice. It’s served me well with two dogs over the last 13 years.

OP have you discussed and agreed the project scope – defining exactly what will be done and by when? If not, how exactly have you/they arrived at a figure of £20k?

Value for money or not, do not agree to anything without an agreed project scope.

Once you’ve got a spec, take the same spec and shop around for more quotes. WP + WooCommerce ‘experts’ are ten a penny.

Edit: Just seen the post above, I’m kinda repeating what has already been said by Footflaps.

BMXs, even expensive BMXs, are incredible value for money, especially when compared to MTBs. For another hundred quid you enter a price point where you’ll get a much better bike for your money.

If you’re in the North West you can’t get better than Alans BMX. This United is a very good bike for the money

Brands I wouldn’t put my kids on (Disclaimer I’m a bit of BMX snob and I’m not looking for an argument)

    Mongoose
    Stolen
    Mafia
    Collective
    Jet
    SE

    Brands I would definitely choose:

    FIT
    We The People
    United
    Sunday

Check out the Source’s Find Your BMX Bike. Run through the various questions and the site will suggest a suitable bike.

The Jet bikes are the Source’s own brand, hence the cheaper prices. If you can, push up your budget to include a MID bottom bracket and sealed hubs front and rear.

the thought of sending your kids to school with over a grands worth of tech (maybe pushing £2k depending on their phones) seem crazy!

Completely agree. But having having the right digital tools has become an essential part of a child’s education, more so since Covid. It they don’t have the tools they will fall behind in their education, possibly even be excluded from getting an education. Very sadly, kids that don’t have access to an internet connection and PC / tablet will loose out now and in the long term.

As a parent buy the best you can afford. As a society we have a responsibility to help those that can’t afford a ‘basic’ PC.

For the iPad to work as a productivity device it’s better with a keyboard and maybe a mouse and Apple Pencil. When you add up all that cost you’re in laptop territory.

Maybe take a look at the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go at £550.

Looks like a great little device for kids and students.

Quick add, Teams and the other M365 apps run really well on an iPad with IOS 14. (Massively helped by the Apple Magic Keyboard)

The guy in the car certainly knew which buttons to push, but that copper lost control when he shouldn’t have.

My wife used to work in the offices of Dorset Police and from what she experienced day to day there are a lot of dodgy / nasty / screwed up coppers out there.

Britain’s police forces have a long way to go if they are to earn the respect of the people they supposedly serve and protect.

OP, firstly I really feel for your daughter. Experiencing tinnitus for the first time can be unpleasant and very frightening.

Disclaimer, I’m not a doctor. I’ve had nearly 20 years, and after the initial shock I learnt to live with it. However is recent weeks it has gone up a notch or two, to a level that is making it more of a challenge to live with.

Inevitably, I’ve been digging around online and there are discussions amongst the online tinnitus community saying that tinnitus is possibly a symptom of C-19 (making existing T worse or triggering T in people with no previous history) Here’s one of a few articles out there: Science Daily

Has your daughter had a C-19 test?

In addition to an increase in Tinnitus I’ve been experiencing headaches for several days, something I never get. The ZOE covid symptom tracker app suggested I have a test, the results of which are due any day now. It will interesting to see the results and if the increase in T linked to C-19.

On another tip, I’ve been taking Vitamin D3 for 3 months and I did wonder if Vit D could be making my T worse. My Mum of 75 has tinnitus, she also takes Vit D and her tinnitus is worse since taking it.

Looking again to the online tinnitus community there are people suggesting a possible link between taking Vit D and an increase in tinnitus. One school of thought is, if you take Vit D you also need magnesium (which I haven’t been taking). If the C-19 test comes back negative I’ll pursue the Vit D + magnesium route, or maybe eliminate Vit D and see what happens.

Getting to the point, is your daughter taking Vit D?

I wish your daughter the very best and I hope it’s just a blip and that the T will pass.
